1ΚαὶKaiThen εἶδονeidonI saw ἐπὶepiin τὴνtēnthe δεξιὰνdexianright hand τοῦtouof the [One] καθημένουkathēmenouseated ἐπὶepion τοῦtouthe θρόνουthronouthrone . βιβλίονbibliona scroll γεγραμμένονgegrammenonIt had writing ἔσωθενesōthenon both sides καὶkai. . . ἔξωθενexōthenoutward κατεσφραγισμένονkatesphragismenon[and was] sealed σφραγῖσινsphragisinseals . ἑπτάheptawith seven
2καὶkaiAnd εἶδονeidonI saw ἄγγελονangelonangel ἰσχυρὸνischyrona mighty κηρύσσονταkēryssontaproclaiming ἐνenin φωνῇphōnēvoice , μεγάλῃmegalēa loud ΤίςTis“ Who is ἄξιοςaxiosworthy ἐστινestinis ἀνοῖξαιanoixaiopen τὸtothe βιβλίονbiblionscroll καὶkaiand λῦσαιlysaito break τὰςtas- σφραγῖδαςsphragidasseals αὐτοῦautouthe
3καὶkaiand οὐδεὶςoudeisno one ἐδύνατοedynatowas able ἐνenin τῷtō- οὐρανῷouranōheaven οὔτεoute[or] ἐπὶepion τῆςtēs- γῆςgēsearth οὔτεoute[or] ὑποκάτωhypokatōunder τῆςtēsthe γῆςgēsearth ἀνοῖξαιanoixaito open τὸtothe βιβλίονbiblionscroll οὔτεoute[or] βλέπεινblepeinlook inside αὐτόautoit .
4καὶkaiAnd ‹ἐγὼ›egōI ἔκλαιονeklaionbegan to weep πολὺpolybitterly , ὅτιhotibecause οὐδεὶςoudeisno one ἄξιοςaxiosworthy εὑρέθηheurethēwas found ἀνοῖξαιanoixaito open τὸtothe βιβλίονbiblionscroll οὔτεoute[or] βλέπεινblepeinlook inside αὐτόautoit .
5ΚαὶKaiThen εἷςheisone ἐκekof τῶνtōnthe πρεσβυτέρωνpresbyterōnelders λέγειlegeisaid μοιmoito me , ΜὴMē“ {Do} not κλαῖεklaieweep ! ἰδοὺidouBehold , ἐνίκησενenikēsenhas triumphed ὁho- ΛέωνLeōnLion ὁho- ἐκekof τῆςtēsthe φυλῆςphylēstribe ἸούδαIoudaof Judah , ἡhēthe ῬίζαRhizaRoot ΔαυίδDauidof David , ἀνοῖξαιanoixaito open τὸtothe βιβλίονbiblionscroll καὶkaiand τὰςtas- ἑπτὰheptaseven σφραγῖδαςsphragidasseals . ” αὐτοῦautouits
6καὶkaiand εἶδονeidonI saw ἐνenin μέσῳmesō[the] center τοῦtouof the θρόνουthronouthrone , καὶkai- τῶνtōn[encircled by] the τεσσάρωνtessarōnfour ζῴωνzōōnliving creatures καὶkaiand ἐνen- μέσῳmesō- τῶνtōnthe πρεσβυτέρωνpresbyterōnelders . ἈρνίονArniona Lamb ἑστηκὸςhestēkosstanding ὡςhōswho appeared ἐσφαγμένονesphagmenonto have been slain , ἔχωνechōn[The Lamb] had κέραταkeratahorns ἑπτὰheptaseven καὶkaiand ὀφθαλμοὺςophthalmouseyes , ἑπτάheptaseven ἃha[his] εἰσιeisiare τὰtathe ἑπτὰheptaseven ΠνεύματαPneumataSpirits τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God ἀποστελλόμεναapostellomenasent εἰςeisinto πᾶσανpasanall τὴνtēnthe γῆνgēnearth .
7καὶkaiAnd ἔλθῃelthēshould come καὶkaiAnd εἴληφενeilēphentook [the scroll] ἐκekfrom τῆςtēsthe δεξιᾶςdexiasright hand τοῦtouof the [One] καθημένουkathēmenouseated ἐπὶepion τοῦtouthe θρόνουthronouthrone .
8ΚαὶKai- ὅτεhoteWhen ἔλαβεelabevvv τὸtothe βιβλίονbiblionscroll , τὰtathe τέσσαραtessarafour ζῷαzōaliving creatures καὶkaiand οἱhoithe εἴκοσιeikositwenty-four τέσσαρεςtessares. . . πρεσβύτεροιpresbyteroielders ἔπεσανepesanfell down ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore τοῦtouthe ἈρνίουArniouLamb . ἔχοντεςechonteshad ἕκαστοςhekastosEach one κιθάρανkitharana harp , καὶkaiand they were holding φιάλαςphialasbowls χρυσᾶςchrysasgolden γεμούσαςgemousasfull θυμιαμάτωνthymiamatōnof incense , αἵhaiwhich εἰσινeisinare αἱhaithe προσευχαὶproseuchaiprayers τῶνtōnof the ἁγίωνhagiōnsaints .
9καὶkaiAnd ᾄδουσινadousinthey sang ᾠδὴνōdēnsong καινὴνkainēna new λέγοντεςlegontes- : ἌξιοςAxios“ Worthy εἶeiare You λαβεῖνlabeinto take τὸtothe βιβλίονbiblionscroll καὶkaiand ἀνοῖξαιanoixaiopen τὰςtas- σφραγῖδαςsphragidasseals , αὐτοῦautouits ὅτιhotibecause ἐσφάγηςesphagēsYou were slain , καὶkaiand ἠγόρασαςēgorasasYou purchased τῷtō- ΘεῷTheōfor God ἡμᾶςhēmasour [instruction] . ἐνenby τῷtō- αἵματίhaimatiblood σουsouYour ἐκek[those] from πάσηςpasēsevery φυλῆςphylēstribe καὶkaiand γλώσσηςglōssēstongue καὶkaiand λαοῦlaoupeople καὶkaiand ἔθνουςethnousnation .
10καὶkai- ἐποίησαςepoiēsasYou have made αὐτοὺςautousthem {to be} τῷtōto [ serve ] ΘεῷTheōGod , ἡμῶνhēmōnour βασιλεῖςbasileiskings καὶkaiand ἱερεῖςhiereispriests καὶkaiand βασιλεύσουσινbasileusousinthey will reign ἐπὶepiupon τῆςtēsthe γῆςgēsearth . ”
11ΚαὶKaiThen εἶδονeidonI looked , καὶkaiand ἤκουσαēkousaI heard ὡςhōswho appeared φωνὴνphōnēn[the] voices ἀγγέλωνangelōnangels πολλῶνpollōnof many κύκλῳkyklōencircling τοῦtouthe θρόνουthronouthrone , καὶkaiand τῶνtōn- ζῴωνzōōnliving creatures καὶkaiand τῶνtōn- πρεσβυτέρωνpresbyterōnelders καὶkaiand ἦνēnwas ὁho- ἀριθμὸςarithmosnumber αὐτῶνautōntheir μυριάδεςmyriadesmyriads μυριάδωνmyriadōnof myriads καὶkaiand χιλιάδεςchiliadesthousands χιλιάδωνchiliadōnof thousands .
12λέγοντεςlegontesthey were saying : φωνῇphōnēIn a loud voice μεγάλῃmegalē. . . Ἄξιόν*Axion“ Worthy ἐστίestiI have τὸtothe ἈρνίονArnionLamb , τὸtowho ἐσφαγμένονesphagmenonwas slain , λαβεῖνlabeinto receive τὴνtēn- δύναμινdynaminpower καὶkaiand τῶνtōn- πλοῦτονploutonriches καὶkaiand σοφίανsophianwisdom καὶkaiand ἰσχὺνischynstrength καὶkaiand τιμὴνtimēnhonor καὶkaiand δόξανdoxanglory καὶkaiand εὐλογίανeulogianblessing ! ”
13ΚαὶKaiAnd πᾶνpanevery κτίσμαktismacreature ὃho- ἐνenin τῷtō- οὐρανῷouranōheaven καὶkaiand ἐπὶepion τῆςtēs- γῆςgēsearth καὶkaiand ὑποκάτωhypokatōunder τῆςtēsthe γῆςgēsearth καὶkaiand ἐπὶepiin τῆςtēsthe θαλάσσηςthalassēssea , ἐστίestiI have καὶkaiand τὰtathat [is] ἐνenin αὐτοῖςautoisthem , πάνταpantaall ἤκουσαēkousaI heard λέγονταςlegontassaying : ΤῷTō“ To Him who καθημένῳkathēmenōsits ἐπὶepion τοῦtouthe θρόνουthronouthrone , καὶkaiand τὸtothe ἈρνίῳArniōLamb ἡhēbe εὐλογίαeulogiapraise καὶkaiand ἡhē- τιμὴtimēhonor καὶkaiand ἡhē- δόξαdoxaglory καὶkaiand τὸto- κράτοςkratospower εἰςeisvvv τοὺςtousvvv αἰῶναςaiōnasforever τῶνtōn[and] αἰώνωνaiōnōnever ! ”
14ΚαὶKaiAnd τὰtathe τέσσαραtessarafour ζῷαzōaliving creatures ἔλεγονelegonsaid , ἈμήνAmēn“ Amen , ” καὶkaiand οἱhoithe πρεσβύτεροιpresbyteroielders ἔπεσανepesanfell down καὶkaiand προσεκύνησανprosekynēsanworshiped .
