ΟἶδάOidaI know σουsouyour τὰta- ἔργαergadeeds ; ὅτιhoti- ὄνομαonoma[a] reputation ἔχειςecheisyou have ὅτιhoti- ζῇςzēsbeing alive , καὶkaiyet νεκρὸςnekrosdead . εἶeiyou are
2γίνουginouvvv γρηγορῶνgrēgorōnWake up καὶkaiand στήρισονstērisonstrengthen τὰtawhat λοιπὰloiparemains , hawhich ἔμελλονemellonwas about ἀποθνήσκεινapothnēskeindie ; οὐouvvv γὰρgarfor εὕρηκάheurēkaI have found σουsouyour ‹τὰ›ta- ἔργαergadeeds πεπληρωμέναpeplērōmenaincomplete ἐνώπιονenōpionin the sight of τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod . μουmouMy
3μνημόνευεmnēmoneueRemember , οὖνounthen , πῶςpōswhat εἴληφαςeilēphasyou have received καὶkaiand ἤκουσαςēkousasheard . καὶkai- τήρειtēreiKeep [it] καὶkaiand μετανόησονmetanoēsonrepent . ἐὰνeanIf οὖνoun- μὴvvv γρηγορήσῃςgrēgorēsēsyou do not wake up , ἥξωhēxōI will come ἐπὶepiupon σέseyou . ὡςhōslike κλέπτηςkleptēsa thief , καὶkaiand οὐouvvv μὴvvv γνῷςgnōsyou will not know ποίανpoianwhen ὥρανhōranthe hour ἥξωhēxōI will come ἐπὶepiupon σέseyou .
4ἈλλὰAllaBut ἔχειςecheisyou do have ὀλίγαoligaa few ὀνόματαonomatapeople ἐνenin ΣάρδεσινSardesinSardis hawho οὐκoukvvv ἐμόλυνανemolynanhave not soiled τὰta- ἱμάτιαhimatiagarments , αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand περιπατήσουσιperipatesousiwill walk , μετ’met’with ἐμοῦemouMe ἐνenin λευκοῖςleukoiswhite . ὅτιhotibecause ἄξιοίaxioiworthy , εἰσινeisinthey are
5HOhe who νικῶνnikōnovercomes οὕτωhoutōso περιβαλεῖταιperibaleitaiwill be dressed ἐνenin ἱματίοιςhimatiois- . λευκοῖςleukoiswhite καὶkaiAnd οὐouvvv μὴvvv ἐξαλείψωexaleipsōI will never blot out τὸto- ὄνομαonomaname αὐτοῦautouhis ἐκekfrom τῆςtēsthe βίβλουbiblouBook τῆςtēs- ζωῆςzōēsof Life , καὶkai[but] ὁμολογήσωhomologēsōI will confess τὸto- ὄνομαonomaname αὐτοῦautouhis ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore τοῦtou- ΠατρόςPatrosFather μουmouMy καὶkaiand ἐνώπιονenōpion- τῶνtōn- ἀγγέλωνangelōnangels . αὐτοῦautouHis
6HoHe who ἔχωνechōnhas οὖςousan ear , ἀκουσάτωakousatōlet him hear τίtiwhat τὸtothe ΠνεῦμαPneumaSpirit λέγειlegeisays ταῖςtaisto the ἐκκλησίαιςekklēsiaischurches .
7ΚαὶKai- τῷTo ἀγγέλῳangelō[the] angel τῆςtēsof the ἐνenin ΦιλαδελφείᾳPhiladelpheiaPhiladelphia ἐκκλησίαςekklēsiaschurch γράψονgrapsonwrite : ΤάδεTadeThese [are] λέγειlegeithe words hoof the [One who is] ἅγιοςhagiosholy ho[and] ἀληθινόςalēthinostrue , howho ἔχωνechōnholds τὴνtēnthe κλεῖνkleinkey τοῦtou- ΔαυίδDauidof David . hoWhat ἀνοίγωνanoigōnHe opens καὶkai- οὐδεὶςoudeisno one κλείσειkleiseican shut , καὶkaiand κλείωνkleiōnwhat He shuts καὶkai- οὐδεὶςoudeisno one ἀνοίξειanoixeiI open
8ΟἶδάOidaI know σουsouyour τὰta- ἔργαergadeeds . ἰδοὺidouSee , δέδωκαdedōkaI have placed ἐνώπιόνenōpionbefore σουsouyou θύρανthyrandoor , ἀνεῳγμένην,aneogmenenan open ἣνhēnwhich οὐδεὶςoudeisno one δύναταιdynataican κλεῖσαιkleisaishut αὐτήνautēn- . ὅτιhotiFor μικρὰνmikranonly a little ἔχειςecheisyou have δύναμινdynaminstrength , καὶkaiyet ἐτήρησάςetērēsasyou have kept μουmouMy τὸνton- λόγονlogonword καὶkaiand οὐκoukvvv ἠρνήσωērnēsōhave not denied τὸto- ὄνομάonomaname . μουmouMy
9ἰδοὺidouLook at δίδωμιdidōmiI can give ἐκek[those who belong] to τῆςtēsthe συναγωγῆςsynagōgēssynagogue τοῦtou- ΣατανᾶSatanaof Satan , τῶνtōnwho λεγόντωνlegontōnclaim ἑαυτοὺςheautous- ἸουδαίουςIoudaiousJews εἶναιeinaito be καὶkai[but] οὐκouk- εἰσὶνeisinare ἀλλὰallainstead . ψεύδονταιpseudontailiars ἰδοὺidou- ποιήσωpoiēsōI will make αὐτοὺςautousthem ἵναhina- ἥξουσιexousi[People] will come καὶkaiand προσκυνήσουσινproskynēsousinbow down ἐνώπιονenōpionat τῶνtōn- ποδῶνpodōnfeet , σουsouyour καὶkaiand γνῶσινgnōsinthey will know ὅτιhotithat ἐγὼegōI ἠγάπησάēgapēsalove σεseyou .
10ὍτιHotiBecause ἐτήρησαςetērēsasyou have kept τὸνton- λόγονlogoncommand τῆςtēs- ὑπομονῆςhypomonēsto persevere , μουmouMy κἀγώkagōvvv σεseyou τηρήσωtērēsōI will also keep ἐκekfrom τῆςtēsthe ὥραςhōrashour τοῦtouof πειρασμοῦpeirasmoutesting τῆςtēsthat μελλούσηςmellousēsis about ἔρχεσθαιerchesthaito come ἐπὶepiupon τῆςtēsthe οἰκουμένηςoikoumenēsworld , ὅληςholēswhole πειράσαιpeirasaito test τοὺςtousthose who κατοικοῦνταςkatoikountasdwell ἐπὶepion τῆςtēsthe γῆςgēsearth .
11ἔρχομαιerchomaiI am coming ταχύtachysoon . κράτειkrateiHold fast hoto what ἔχειςecheisyou have , ἵναhinaso that μηδεὶςmēdeisno one λάβῃlabēwill take τὸνton- στέφανόνstephanoncrown . σουsouyour
12HOThe [one who] νικῶνnikōnovercomes ποιήσωpoiēsōI will make αὐτὸνauton- στῦλονstylona pillar ἐνenin τῷthe ναῷnaōtemple τοῦtouof ΘεοῦTheouGod , μουmouMy καὶkaiand ἔξωexō. . . . οὐouvvv μὴvvv ἐξέλθῃexelthēhe will never again leave [it] ἔτιetivvv καὶkai- γράψωgrapsōI will write ἐπ’ep’Upon αὐτὸνautonhim τὸtothe ὄνομαonomaname τοῦtouof ΘεοῦTheouGod , μουmouMy καὶkaiand τὸtothe ὄνομαonomaname τῆςtēsof the πόλεωςpoleōscity τοῦtouof ΘεοῦTheouGod μουmouMy τῆςtēs(the καινῆςkainēsnew ἸερουσαλήμIerousalēmJerusalem that καταβαίνειkatabaineirained down ἐκekout of τοῦtou- οὐρανοῦouranouheaven ἀπὸapofrom τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod) , μουmouMy καὶkaiand τὸto- ὄνομάonomaname . μουmouMy τὸto- καινόνkainonnew
13HoHe who ἔχωνechōnhas οὖςousan ear , ἀκουσάτωakousatōlet him hear τίtiwhat τὸtothe ΠνεῦμαPneumaSpirit λέγειlegeisays ταῖςtaisto the ἐκκλησίαιςekklēsiaischurches .
14ΚαὶKai- τῷTo the ἀγγέλῳangelōangel τῆςtēsof the ἐνenin ΛαοδικείᾳLaodikeiaLaodicea ἐκκλησίαςekklēsiaschurch γράψονgrapsonwrite : ΤάδεTadeThese [are] λέγειlegeithe words hoof the ἈμήνAmēnAmen , hothe μάρτυςmartysWitness , ho- πιστὸςpistosfaithful καὶkaiand ἀληθινόςalēthinostrue the ἀρχὴarchēOriginator τῆςtēs- κτίσεωςktiseōscreation . τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God’s
15ΟἶδάOidaI know σουsouyour τὰta- ἔργαergadeeds ; ὅτιhoti- οὔτεouteneither ψυχρὸςpsychroscold εἶeiyou are οὔτεouteneither ζεστόςzestoshot . ὄφελονophelon[How] I wish ψυχρὸςpsychros[one] ἦςēsyou were ēor ζεστόςzestos[the other] !
16οὕτωςhoutōsSo ὅτιhotibecause χλιαρὸςchliaroslukewarm — εἶeiyou are καὶkai- οὔτεouteneither ζεστὸςzestoshot οὔτεoutenor ψυχρόςpsychroscold — μέλλωmellōI am about σεseyou ἐμέσαιemesaito vomit ἐκekout of τοῦtou- στόματόςstomatosmouth ! μουmouMy
17ὍτιHoti- λέγειςlegeisYou say , ὅτιhoti- ΠλούσιόςPlousiosrich ; εἰμιeimi‘ I am καὶkai- πεπλούτηκαpeploutēkaI have grown wealthy καὶkaiand οὐδενὸςoudenosno one χρείανchreianneed ἔχωechōvvv καὶkaiand οὐκoukvvv οἶδαςoidasyou do not realize ὅτιhotithat σὺsyyou εἶeiare ho- ταλαίπωροςtalaipōroswretched , καὶkai- ho- ἐλεεινὸςeleeinospitiful , καὶkai- πτωχὸςptōchospoor , καὶkai- τυφλὸςtyphlosblind , καὶkaiand γυμνόςgymnosnaked .
18συμβουλεύωsymbouleuōI counsel σοιsoiyou ἀγοράσαιagorasaito buy παρ’par’from ἐμοῦemouMe χρυσίονchrysiongold πεπυρωμένονpepyrōmenonrefined ἐκekby πυρὸςpyrosfire ἵναhinaso that πλουτήσῃςploutēsēsyou may become rich , καὶkai- ἱμάτιαhimatiagarments λευκὰleukawhite ἵναhinaso that περιβάλῃperibalēyou may be clothed καὶkaiand μὴvvv φανερωθῇphanerōthēnot exposed , - αἰσχύνηaischynēshameful τῆςtēs- γυμνότητόςgymnotētosnakedness σουsouyour καὶkaiand κολλύριονkollurionsalve ἵναhinaso that ἐγχρίσῃegkhriseto anoint τοὺςtous- ὀφθαλμούςophthalmouseyes σουsouyour ἵναhinaso that βλέπῃςblepēsyou may see .
19ἐγὼegōI ὅσουςhosousThose ἐὰνeanvvv φιλῶphilōlove , ἐλέγχωelenchōI rebuke καὶkaiand παιδεύωpaideuōdiscipline . ζήλευεzēleuebe earnest οὖνounTherefore καὶkaiand μετανόησονmetanoēsonrepent .
20ἸδοὺIdouBehold , ἕστηκαhestēkaI stand ἐπὶepiat τὴνtēnthe θύρανthyrandoor καὶkaiand κρούωkrouōknock . ἐάνeanIf τιςtisanyone ἀκούσῃakousēhears τῆςtēs- φωνῆςphōnēsvoice μουmouMy καὶkaiand ἀνοίξῃanoixēopens τὴνtēnthe θύρανthyrandoor , ‹καὶ›kai- εἰσελεύσομαιeiseleusomaiI will come in πρὸςpros- αὐτὸνauton- καὶkaiand δειπνήσωdeipnēsōdine μετ’met’with αὐτοῦautouhim , καὶkaiand αὐτὸςautoshe μετ’met’with ἐμοῦemouMe .
21HOwho νικῶνnikōnovercomes , δώσωdōsōI will grant [the right] αὐτῷautōTo [the one] καθίσαιkathisaito sit μετ’met’with ἐμοῦemouMe ἐνenon τῷ- θρόνῳthronōthrone , μουmouMy ὡςhōsjust as κἀγὼkagōI ἐνίκησαenikēsaovercame καὶkaiand ἐκάθισαekathisasat down μετὰmetawith τοῦtou- ΠατρόςPatrosFather μουmouMy ἐνenon τῷ- θρόνῳthronōthrone . αὐτοῦautouHis
22HoHe who ἔχωνechōnhas οὖςousan ear , ἀκουσάτωakousatōlet him hear τίtiwhat τὸtothe ΠνεῦμαPneumaSpirit λέγειlegeisays ταῖςtaisto the ἐκκλησίαιςekklēsiaischurches . ”
