1ΚαὶKaiThen εἶδονeidonI saw οὐρανὸνouranonheaven καινὸνkainona new καὶkaiand γῆνgēnearth , καινήνkainēna new ὁhothe γὰρgarfor πρῶτοςprōtosfirst οὐρανὸςouranosheaven καὶkaiand ἡhē- πρώτηprōtē- γῆgēearth ἀπελθὼνapelthōngo καὶkaiand ἡhēthe θάλασσαthalassasea οὐκoukno ἔστινestinwas ἔτιetimore .
2καὶkai- τὴνtēnthe πόλινpolincity , τὴνtēn- ἁγίανhagianholy ἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēmJerusalem , καινὴνkainēn[the] new εἶδονeidonI saw καταβαίνουσανkatabainousancoming down ἐκekout of τοῦtou- οὐρανοῦouranouheaven ἀπὸapofrom τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod , ἡτοιμασμένηνhētoimasmenēnprepared ὡςhōsas νύμφηνnymphēna bride κεκοσμημένηνkekosmēmenēnadorned τῷtōfor ἀνδρὶandrihusband . αὐτῆςautēsher
3ΚαὶKaiAnd ἤκουσαēkousaI heard φωνῆςphōnēsvoice μεγάληςmegalēsa loud ἐκekfrom τοῦtouthe οὐρανοῦouranouheaven λεγούσηςlegousēssaying : ἸδοὺIdou“ Behold , ἡhēthe σκηνὴskēnēdwelling place τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God μετὰmeta[is] with τῶνtōn- ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnman , καὶkaiand σκηνώσειskēnōseiHe will dwell μετ’met’with αὐτῶνautōnthem . καὶkai- αὐτοὶautoiThey λαὸςlaosa people αὐτοῦautouHis ἔσονταιesontaiwill be καὶkai- αὐτὸςautosHimself ὁho- ΘεὸςTheosGod μετ’met’with αὐτῶνautōnthem ἔσταιestaiwill be
4καὶkaiand ἐξαλείψειexaleipseiHe will wipe away ἀπ’ap’from αὐτῶνautōn[as] their ὁho- ΘεὸςTheosGod πᾶνpanevery δάκρυονdakryontear ἀπὸapofrom τῶνtōn- ὀφθαλμῶνophthalmōneyes , ’ αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand ὁho- θάνατοςthanatosdeath οὐκoukno ἔσταιestaithere will be ἔτιetimore οὔτεoute[or] πένθοςpenthosmourning οὔτεoute[or] κραυγὴkraugēcrying οὔτεoute[or] πόνοςponospain οὐκouk- ἔσταιestai- ἔτιeti- , ὅτιhotifor τὰtathe πρῶταprōtaformer things ἀπελθὼνapelthōngo
5ΚαὶKaiAnd εἶπενeipensaid , ὁhothe [One] καθήμενοςkathēmenosseated ἐπὶepion τῷtōthe θρόνῳthronōthrone ἸδοὺIdou“ Behold , καινὰkainanew . ” ποιῶpoiōI make πάνταpantaall things καὶkaiThen λέγειlegeiHe said , μοιmoime , ΓράψονGrapson“ Write this down , ὅτιhotifor οὗτοιhoutoithese οἱhoi- λόγοιlogoiwords πιστοὶpistoifaithful καὶkaiand ἀληθινοίalēthinoitrue . ” εἰσι.eisiare
6καὶkaiAnd εἴπῃeipētells μοιmoime , γέγονενgegonenis ἐγὼegōI τὸtothe ἅha- καὶkaivvv τὸtoThe ὁhoThe [angel who] ἡhēThe ἀρχὴarchēBeginning καὶkaiand τὸtothe τέλοςtelosEnd . ἐγὼegōI τῷtōTo the διψῶντιdipsōntithirsty δώσωdōsōwill give ἐκekfrom τῆςtēsthe πηγῆςpēgēsspring τοῦtouof the ὕδατοςhydatoswater τῆςtēs- ζωῆςzōēsof life . δωρεάνdōreanfreely
7ὁhoThe [one who] νικῶνnikōnovercomes ἔσταιestaiwill be αὐτῷautōhis ταῦταtautaall things , καὶkaiand ἔσομαιesomaiI will be αὐτῷautōhis ΘεὸςTheosGod , καὶkaiand αὐτὸςautoshe ἔσταιestaiwill be μοιmoiMy υἱόςhuiosson .
8ΤοῖςTois- δὲdeBut δειλοῖςdeiloisto [the] cowardly καὶkaiand ἀπίστοιςapistoisunbelieving καὶkaiand ἐβδελυγμένοιςebdelygmenoisabominable καὶkaiand φονεῦσιphoneusimurderers καὶkaiand πόρνοιςpornoissexually immoral καὶkaiand φαρμάκοιςpharmakoissorcerers καὶkaiand εἰδωλολάτραιςeidōlolatraisidolaters καὶkaiand πᾶσιpasiall τοῖςtois- ψευδέσιpseudesiliars , τὸto- μέροςmerosplace αὐτῶνautōntheir ἐνen[will be] in τῇtēthe λίμνῃlimnēlake τῇtēthat καιομένῃkaiomenēburns ἐνen[will be] in πυρὶpyriwith fire καὶkaiand θείῳtheiōsulfur . ὅhoThis ἐστινestinis ὁhothe θάνατοςthanatosdeath . ” ὁho- δεύτεροςdeuterossecond
9ΚαὶKaiThen ἦλθενēlthencame εἷςheisone ἐκekof τῶνtōnthe ἑπτὰheptaseven ἀγγέλωνangelōnangels τῶνtōn- ἐχόντωνechontōnwith τὰςtasthe ἑπτὰheptaseven φιάλαςphialasbowls τὰςtasthe γεμούσαςgemousasfull τῶνtōn- ἑπτὰheptaseven πληγῶνplēgōnplagues τῶνtōn- ἐσχάτωνeschatōnfinal καὶkaiand ἐλάλησεelaleseHe promised μετ’met’to ἐμοῦemoume λέγωνlegōn- , ΔεῦροDeuro“ Come , δείξωdeixōI will show σοιsoiyou τὴνtēnthe νύμφηνnymphēnbride , τὴνtēnthe γυναῖκαgynaikawife τοῦtouof the ἀρνίουarniouLamb . ”
10ΚαὶKaiAnd ἀπήνεγκέapenegkehe carried me away μεme. . . ἐνenin ΠνεύματιPneumati[the] Spirit ἐπ’ep’vvv ὄροςorosa mountain μέγαmegagreat καὶkaiand ὑψηλόνhypsēlonhigh , καὶkaiand ἔδειξέedeixeHe showed μοιmoime τὴνtēnthe πόλινpolincity τὴνtēn- ἁγίανhagianholy ἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēm[of] Jerusalem καταβαίνουσανkatabainousancoming down ἐκekout of τοῦtou- οὐρανοῦouranouheaven ἀπὸapofrom τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod ,
11ἔχουσανechousanshining with τὴνtēnthe δόξανdoxanglory τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God . ὁho- φωστὴρphōstērradiance αὐτῆςautēsIts ὅμοιοςhomoios[was] like λίθῳlithōjewel , τιμιωτάτῳtimiōtatōa most precious ὡςhōslike λίθῳlithōjewel , ἰάσπιδιiaspidia jasper κρυσταλλίζοντιkrystallizontias clear as crystal .
12ἔχουσαechousa[The city] had τεῖχοςteichoswall μέγαmegaa great καὶkaiand ὑψηλόνhypsēlonhigh ἔχουσαechousawith πυλῶναςpylōnasgates δώδεκαdōdekatwelve καὶkaivvv ἐπὶepiat τοῖςtoisthe πυλῶσινpylōsingates . ἀγγέλουςangelousangels δώδεκαdōdekatwelve καὶkaiand ὀνόματαonomatanames ἐπιγεγραμμέναepigegrammenainscribed ἅha- ἐστινestin- ὀνόματαonomatanames τῶνtōnof the δώδεκαdōdekatwelve φυλῶνphylōntribes τῶνtōnof the υἱῶνhuiōn- ἸσραήλIsraēlof Israel ,
13ἀπ’ap’from ἀνατολῶνanatolōneast πυλῶνεςpylōnesgates τρεῖςtreis[There were] three καὶkai- ἀπὸapoon βορρᾶborra[the] north , πυλῶνεςpylōnes- τρεῖςtreisthree καὶkai- ἀπὸapoon νότουnotou[the] south , πυλῶνεςpylōnes- τρεῖςtreisthree καὶkai- ἀπὸapoon δυσμῶνdysmōn[the] west . πυλῶνεςpylōnes- τρεῖςtreisthree
14καὶkaiand τὸtoThe τεῖχοςteichoswall τῆςtēsof the πόλεωςpoleōscity ἔχωνechōnhad θεμελίουςthemeliousfoundations δώδεκαdōdekatwelve καὶkai- ἐπ’ep’vvv αὐτῶνautōn[bearing] δώδεκαdōdeka[the] ὀνόματαonomatanames τῶνtōnof the δώδεκαdōdekatwelve ἀποστόλωνapostolōnapostles τοῦtouof the ἈρνίουArniouLamb .
15ΚαὶKai- ὁhoThe [angel who] λαλῶνlalōnspoke μετ’met’with ἐμοῦemoume ΕἶχεEichehad μέτρονmetronmeasuring κάλαμονkalamonrod χρυσοῦνchrysouna golden ἵναhinato μετρήσῃmetrēsēmeasure τὴνtēnthe πόλινpolincity καὶkaiand τοὺςtous- πυλῶναςpylōnasgates αὐτῆςautēs- καὶkaiand τὸto- τεῖχοςteichoswalls . αὐτῆςautēs-
16καὶkaiand ἡhēThe πόλιςpoliscity τετράγωνοςtetragōnosfoursquare , κεῖταιkeitailies καὶkaiwith τὸto[its] μῆκοςmēkoslength . αὐτῆςautēsits ἴσονisonequal καὶkaiAnd τὸto- πλάτοςplatoswidth καὶkai- ἐμέτρησεemetresehe measured τὴνtēnthe πόλινpolincity τῷtōwith the καλάμῳkalamōrod , ἐπὶepi- σταδίουςstadious. . . δώδεκαdōdeka12,000 {} χιλιάδωνchiliadōn. . . τὸtoin μῆκοςmēkoslength καὶkaiand τὸto- πλάτοςplatoswidth καὶkaiand τὸto- ὕψοςhypsosheight αὐτῆςautēs- . ἴσαisaequal — ἐστίestiI have
17καὶkaiand ἐμέτρησεemetresehe measured τὸto- τεῖχοςteichoswall [to be] αὐτῆςautēsits ἑκατὸνhekaton144 {} τεσσαράκονταtessarakonta[where for] forty τεσσάρωνtessarōn. . . πηχῶνpēchōncubits , μέτρονmetronmeasure ἀνθρώπουanthrōpouby the human ὅho- ἐστινestinwas [using] . ἀγγέλουangelouthe angel
18ΚαὶKai- ἦνēnconsisting ἡhēThe ἐνδώμησιςendōmēsiswas made of τοῦtouThe τείχουςteichouswall αὐτῆςautēs- ἴασπιςiaspisjasper , καὶkaiand ἡhēthe πόλιςpoliscity [itself] χρυσίονchrysiongold , καθαρὸνkatharonof pure ὅμοιονhomoionas ὑάλῳhyalōglass . καθαρῷkatharōpure as
19οἱhoiThe θεμέλιοιthemelioifoundations τοῦtouof the τείχουςteichouswalls τῆςtēs- πόλεωςpoleōscity παντὶpantiwith every kind of λίθῳlithōstone : τιμίῳtimiōprecious κεκοσμημένοιkekosmēmenoiwere adorned ὁhoThe θεμέλιοςthemeliosfoundation ὁhothe πρῶτοςprōtosfirst ἴασπιςiaspis[was] jasper , ὁhothe δεύτεροςdeuterossecond σάπφειρος,sappheirossapphire , ὁhothe τρίτοςtritosthird χαλκηδώνchalkēdōnchalcedony , ὁhothe τέταρτοςtetartosfourth σμάραγδοςsmaragdosemerald ,
20ὁhothe πέμπτοςpemptosfifth σαρδόνυξsardonyxsardonyx , ὁhothe ἕκτοςhektossixth σάρδιονsardioncarnelian , ὁhothe ἕβδομοςhebdomosseventh χρυσόλιθοςchrysolithoschrysolite , ὁhothe ὄγδοοςogdooseighth βήρυλλοςbēryllosberyl , ὁhothe ἔνατοςenatosninth τοπάζιονtopaziontopaz , ὁhothe δέκατοςdekatostenth χρυσόπρασοςchrysoprasoschrysoprase , ὁhothe ἑνδέκατοςhendekatoseleventh ὑάκινθοςhyakinthosjacinth , ὁho[and] the δωδέκατοςdōdekatostwelfth ἀμέθυστοςamethystosamethyst .
21ΚαὶKaiAnd οἱhoithe δώδεκαdōdekatwelve πυλῶνεςpylōnesgates [were] δώδεκαdōdekatwelve μαργαρῖταιmargaritaipearls , ἀνὰanavvv εἷςheis- ἕκαστοςhekastos[with] each τῶνtōn- πυλώνωνpylōnōngate ἦνēnconsisting ἐξexof ἑνὸςhenosa single μαργαρίτουmargaritoupearl . καὶkai- ἡhēThe πλατεῖαplateiamain street τῆςtēsof the πόλεωςpoleōscity χρυσίονchrysiongold , καθαρὸνkatharon[was] pure ὡςhōsas ὕαλοςhyalosas glass . διαυγήςdiaugēsclear
22ΚαὶKai[But] ναὸνnaontemple οὐκoukno εἶδονeidonI saw ἐνenin αὐτῇautē[the city] , ὁhothe γὰρgarbecause ΚύριοςKyriosLord ὁho- ΘεὸςTheosGod ὁho- ΠαντοκράτωρPantokratōrAlmighty ναὸςnaostemple . αὐτῆςautēsits ἐστίestiI have καὶkaiAnd τὸtothe ἈρνίονArnionLamb
23καὶkaiand ἡhēthe πόλιςpoliscity οὐouno χρείανchreianneed ἔχειecheihas τοῦtouof ἡλίουhēliousun οὐδὲoude[or] τῆςtēs- σελήνηςselēnēsmoon ἵναhinato φαίνωσινphainōsinshine αὐτῇautēon it , ἡhēthe γὰρgarbecause δόξαdoxaglory τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God ἐφώτισενephōtisenilluminates αὐτήνautēn[the city] , καὶkaiand ὁho- λύχνοςlychnoslamp . αὐτῆςautēs[is] its τὸtothe ἈρνίονArnionLamb
24καὶkaiand περιπατήσουσιperipatesousiwill walk , τὰtathe ἔθνηethnēnations διὰdiaBy τοῦtou- φωτὸςphōtoslight αὐτῆςautēsits καὶkai- οἱhoithe βασιλεῖςbasileiskings τῆςtēsof the γῆςgēsearth φέρουσιpherousidare to bring τὴνtēn- δόξανdoxanglory . καὶkai- τὴνtēn- τιμὴνtimēnhonor αὐτῶνautōntheir εἰςeisinto αὐτήνautēnit
25καὶkaiand οἱhoithe πυλῶνεςpylōnesgates αὐτῆςautēsIts οὐouvvv μὴmēvvv κλεισθῶσινkleisthōsinwill never be shut ἡμέραςhēmerasat the end of the day , νὺξnyxnight γὰρgarbecause οὐκoukno ἔσταιestaithere will be ἐκεῖekeithere .
26ΚαὶKaiAnd οἴσουσιoisousiwill be brought τὴνtēnthe δόξανdoxanglory καὶkaiand τὴνtēn- τιμὴνtimēnhonor τῶνtōnof the ἐθνῶνethnōnnations . εἰςeis. . . αὐτὴνautēnit ,
27καὶkai[nor] οὐouvvv μὴmēvvv εἰσέλθῃeiselthēwill ever enter εἰςeis. . . αὐτὴνautēnit , πᾶνpannothing κοινὸνkoinonunclean καὶkai[nor] ὁhoanyone who ποιῶνpoiōnpractices βδέλυγμαbdelygmaan abomination καὶkai[or] ψεῦδοςpseudosa lie , εἰeibut only μὴmē. . . οἱhoithose whose γεγραμμένοιgegrammenoi[names] are written ἐνenin τῷtō- βιβλίῳbibliōBook τῆςtēs- ζωῆςzōēsof Life . τοῦtouthe ἈρνίουArniouLamb’s
