19Παρεγένοντοparegenontocame δὲdeThen πρὸςprosto [see] αὐτὸνautonHim , ἡhē- μήτηρmētērmother καὶkaiand οἱhoi- ἀδελφοὶadelphoibrothers αὐτοῦautou[Jesus’] καὶkaiand οὐκoukvvv ἠδύναντοēdynantothey were unable συντυχεῖνsyntycheinto reach αὐτῷautōHim διὰdiabecause of τὸνtonthe ὄχλονochloncrowd . καὶkaiand

20ἀπηγγέληapēngelēHe was told αὐτῷautō. . . , λεγόντωνlegontōnsaying : ἩHē- μήτηρmētērmother σουsou- καὶkaiand οἱhoi- ἀδελφοίadelphoibrothers σουsou- ἑστήκασινhestēkasinare standing ἔξωexōoutside , ἰδεῖνideinto see σεseYou . ” θέλοντέςthelonteswanting

32ἐνenon δὲde- ἐκεῖekeiThere ἀγέληagelēherd χοίρωνchoirōnof pigs ἱκανῶνhikanōna large βοσκομένηboskomenēfeeding . ἮνĒnwas τῷtōthe ὄρειoreihillside καὶkai[So] παρεκάλουνparekaloun[the demons] kept begging αὐτὸνauton[Jesus] ἵναhina- ἐπιτρέψῃepitrepsēlet αὐτοῖςautoisthem εἰςeis. . . ἐκείνουςekeinous[the pigs] , εἰσελθεῖνeiseltheinenter καὶkaiand ἐπέτρεψενepetrepsenHe gave them permission αὐτοῖςautois. . . .

43καὶkaiincluding γυνὴgynēa woman οὖσαousawho had suffered ἐνenvvv ῥύσειrhyseivvv αἵματοςhaimatosfrom bleeding ἀπὸapofor ἐτῶνetōnyears . δώδεκαdōdekatwelve ἥτιςhētis[She] ‹ἰατροῖςiatroison physicians , προσαναλώσασαprosanalōsasahad spent ὅλονholonall τὸνtonher βίονbionproperty οὐκouk- ἴσχυσενischysenwas able ὑπ’hyp’under οὐδενὸςoudenosno one θεραπευθῆναιtherapeuthēnaito heal [her] .

44προσελθοῦσαproselthousaShe came up ὄπισθενopisthenbehind [Jesus] ἥψατοhēpsato[and] touched τοῦtouthe κρασπέδουkraspedoufringe τοῦtouthe ἱματίουhimatioucloak , αὐτοῦautouof His καὶkaiand παραχρῆμαparachrēmaimmediately ἔστηestēstopped . ἡhēvvv ῥύσιςrhysisvvv τοῦtouvvv αἵματοςhaimatosbleeding αὐτῆςautēsher

45καὶkaiand εἶπενeipenasked . ὁho- ἸησοῦςIēsousJesus ΤίςTis“ Who ὁho- ἁψάμενόςhapsamenostouched μουmouMe ? ” ἈρνουμένωνArnoumenōndenied [it] . δὲdeBut πάντωνpantōnthey all εἶπενeipenasked . ὁho- ΠέτροςPetrosPeter , καὶkaiand οἱhoi“ the σὺνsynwith αὐτῷautōHim ἘπιστάταEpistata“ Master , ” οἱhoi“ the ὄχλοιochloipeople συνέχουσίsunekhousiare crowding σεseYou . ” καὶkaiand ἀποθλίβουσιapothlibousipressing against καὶkaiand λέγειςlegeis“ are You addressing τιςtis“ Someone ὉHo- ἁψάμενόςhapsamenostouched μουmouMe ? ”

46ὁho- δὲdeBut ἸησοῦςIēsousJesus εἶπενeipenasked . ἭψατόHēpsatotouched μούmouMe , τιςtis“ Someone ἐγὼegōI γὰρgarfor ἔγνωνegnōnknow that δύναμινdynaminpower ἐξελθοῦσανexelthousanhas gone out ἀπ’ap’from ἐμοῦemouMe . ”

47ἸδοῦσαIdousaseeing δὲdeThen ἡhēthe γυνὴgynēwoman , ὅτιhotithat οὐκoukvvv ἔλαθε,elatheshe could not escape notice , τρέμουσαtremousatrembling ἔλθῃelthēbrought καὶkaiand προσπεσοῦσαprospesousafell down before αὐτῷautōHim . δι’di’vvv ἣνhēnvvv αἰτίανaitianwhy ἥψατοhēpsatoshe had touched αὐτοῦautouHim ἀπήγγειλενapēngeilenshe explained αὐτῷautōHim . ἐνώπιονenōpionIn the presence of παντὸςpantosall τοῦtouthe λαοῦlaoupeople , καὶkaiand ὡςhōshow ἰάθηiathēshe had immediately been healed παραχρῆμαparachrēma. . . .

48ὉHo- δὲde- εἶπενeipensaid [Jesus] αὐτῇautē. . . , Θάρσειtarseicourage ΘυγάτηρThygatēr“ Daughter , ” ἡhē- πίστιςpistisfaith σουsou“ your σέσωκέsesokehas healed σεseyou . πορεύουporeuouGo εἰςeisin εἰρήνηνeirēnēnpeace . ”

49ἜτιEti{was} still αὐτοῦautou[While] He λαλοῦντοςlalountosspeaking , ἔρχεταίerchetaiarrived τιςtissomeone παρὰparafrom τοῦtouthe [house of] ἀρχισυναγώγουarchisynagōgouthe synagogue leader . λέγωνlegōnhe told [Jairus] αὐτῷautōto [Jairus] , ὅτιhoti- . ΤέθνηκενTethnēkenis dead , ” ἡhē- θυγάτηρthygatērdaughter σουsou“ Your ΜὴMē“ {Do} not σκύλλεskylle“ {Do not} bother τὸνtonthe ΔιδάσκαλονDidaskalonTeacher

50ὉHo- δὲdeBut ἸησοῦςIēsousJesus ἀκούσαςakousasoverheard [them] ἀπεκρίθηapekrithē[and] said αὐτῷautōto [Jairus] , λέγωνlegōnhe told [Jairus] ΜὴMē“ {Do} not φοβοῦphoboube afraid ; μόνονmononjust πίστευε,pisteuebelieve , καὶkaiand σωθήσεταιsōthēsetaishe will be healed . ”

51ἘλθὼνElthōnHe entered δὲdeWhen εἰςeis. . . τὴνtēnthe οἰκίανoikianhouse , οὐκoukvvv ἀφῆκενaphēkenHe did not allow εἰσελθεῖνeiseltheinto go in οὐδέναoudenano one εἰeiexcept μὴmē. . . ΠέτρονPetronPeter , καὶkai- ἸωάννηνIōannēnJohn , καὶkai- ἸάκωβονIakōbonJames , καὶkaiand τὸνtonthe πατέραpaterafather τῆςtēs- παιδὸςpaidoschild’s καὶkaiand τὴνtēn- μητέραmēteramother .

52ἔκλαιονeklaionwas weeping δὲdeMeanwhile , πάντεςpanteseveryone καὶkaiand ἐκόπτοντοekoptontomourning for αὐτήνautēnher . ὁho- δὲdeBut εἰπὲeipesay ΜὴMē“ vvv κλαίετεklaieteStop weeping ; οὐκoukvvv ἀπέθανενapethanenshe is not dead ἀλλὰallabut καθεύδειkatheudeiasleep . ”

53ΚαὶKaiAnd κατεγέλωνkategelōnthey laughed at αὐτοῦautouHim , εἰδότεςeidotesknowing ὅτιhotithat ἀπέθανενapethanenshe was dead .

54ΑὐτὸςAutos[Jesus] δὲdeBut ἐκβαλὼνekbalōnhe took out ἔξωexōoutside , πάνταςpantasAll καὶkaiand κρατήσαςkratēsastook τῆςtēsby the χειρὸςcheiroshand αὐτῆςautēsher ἐφώνησεephonese[and] called out λέγωνlegōn. . . , ἩHĒ- ΠαῖςPais“ Child , ἐγείρου.egeirou“ Get up

55καὶkai- ἐπέστρεψεepestrepsereturned , τὸto- πνεῦμαpneumaspirit αὐτῆςautēsHer καὶkai- ἀνέστηanestēshe got up . παραχρῆμαparachrēmaat once καὶkaiand διέταξενdietaxenHe directed that αὐτῇautēshe δοθῆναιdothēnaibe given [something] φαγεῖνphageinto eat .

56καὶkai- ἐξέστησανexestēsanwere astounded , οἱhoi- γονεῖςgoneisparents αὐτῆςautēsHer ὁho- δὲdebut παρήγγειλενparēngeilen[Jesus] ordered αὐτοῖςautoisthem μηδενὶmēdeni[anyone] εἰπεῖνeipein{not} to tell τὸtowhat γεγονόςgegonoshad happened .
