2Ho- δὲdeAnd ἔφηephē[Stephen] declared : ἌνδρεςAndresvvv ἀδελφοὶadelphoi“ Brothers καὶkaiand πατέρεςpateresfathers , ἀκούσατεakousatelisten [to me] ! HOThe ΘεὸςTheosGod τῆςtēs- δόξηςdoxēsof glory ὤφθηōphthēappeared τῷto πατρὶpatrifather ἡμῶνhēmōnour ἈβραὰμAbraamAbraham ὄντιontiwhile he was [still] ἐνenin τῇ- ΜεσοποταμίᾳMesopotamiaMesopotamia , πρὶνprinbefore ē. . . κατοικῆσαιkatoikēsailived αὐτὸνautonhe ἐνenin ΧαρράνCharranHaran ,
3καὶkaiand εἰπὲeipesay πρὸςpros. . . αὐτόνautonhim , ἜξελθεExelthe‘ Leave ἐκek. . . τῆςtēs- γῆςgēscountry σουsouyour καὶkaiand ‹ἐκ›ek- τῆςtēs- συγγενείαςsyngeneiaskindred σουsouyour καὶkaiand δεῦροdeurogo εἰςeisto γῆνgēnland ἣνhēn- ἄνan- σοιsoiyou .’ δείξωdeixōI will show
4τότεtote[So] ἐξελθὼνexelthōn[Abraham] left ἐκek. . . γῆςgēs[the] land ΧαλδαίωνChaldaiōnof the Chaldeans κατῴκησενkatōkēsen[and] settled ἐνenin ΧαρράνCharranHaran . κἀκεῖθενkakeithenout of that place μετὰmetaAfter τὸto- ἀποθανεῖνapothaneindied , τὸνton- πατέραpaterafather αὐτοῦautouhis μετῴκισενmetōkisen[God] brought αὐτὸνautonhim εἰςeis[and] into τὴνtēn- γῆνgēnland ταύτηνtautēnthis εἰςeis[and] into ἣνhēnwhere ὑμεῖςhymeisyou νῦνnyn{are} now κατοικεῖτεkatoikeiteliving .
5ΚαὶKai- οὐκoukno ἔδωκενedōkenHe gave αὐτῷautōhim κληρονομίανklēronomianinheritance ἐνenvvv αὐτῇautē[here] , οὐδὲoudenot even βῆμαbēmaa foot of ground ποδόςpodos. . . . καὶkai[But] ἐπηγγείλατοepēngeilato[God] promised δοῦναιdounaito give αὐτῷautōto [Abraham] εἰςeis. . . κατάσχεσινkataschesinpossession αὐτὴνautēnof [the land] καὶkaiand τῷ- σπέρματιspermatidescendants αὐτοῦautouhis μετ’met’. . . αὐτόνauton. . . , οὐκouk. . . ὄντοςontos[even though] he did not yet have αὐτῷautō. . . τέκνουteknoua child .
6ἐλάλησεelaleseHe promised δὲde- οὕτωςhoutōs- ho- ΘεὸςTheosGod ὅτιhotithat ἔσταιestaiwould be τὸto- σπέρμαspermadescendants αὐτοῦautouhis πάροικονparoikonforeigners ἐνenin γῇland , ἀλλοτρίᾳallotriaa strange καὶkaiand [that] δουλώσουσινdoulōsousinthey would be enslaved αὐτὸauto. . . καὶkaiand κακώσουσινkakōsousinmistreated ἔτηetēyears . τετρακόσιαtetrakosiafour hundred
7ΚαὶKai‘ [But] τὸtothe ἔθνοςethnosnation [that] ἐὰνeanvvv δουλεύσωσιdouleusosienslaves them , ’ κρινῶkrinōwill punish ἐγώegōI εἶπενeipensaid , ho- ΘεὸςTheosGod ΚαὶKai‘ and μετὰmetaafterward ταῦταtauta. . . ἐξελεύσονταιexeleusontaithey will come forth καὶkaiand λατρεύσουσίlatreusousiworship μοιmoiMe ἐνenin τῷ- τόπῳtopōplace .’ τούτῳtoutōthis
8ΚαὶKaiThen ἔδωκενedōken[God] gave αὐτῷautō[Abraham] διαθήκηνdiathēkēn[the] covenant περιτομῆςperitomēsof circumcision , καὶkaiand οὕτωςhoutōs- ἐγέννησεegenneseshe gave birth to τὸνton- ἸσαὰκIsaakIsaac καὶkaiand περιέτεμενperietemencircumcised αὐτὸνautonhim τῇon the ἡμέρᾳhēmeraday . τῇ- ὀγδόῃogdoēeighth καὶkaiAnd ἸσαὰκIsaakIsaac [became the father of] τὸνton- ἸακώβIakōbJacob , καὶkaiand ἸακὼβIakōbJacob τοὺςtousof the δώδεκαdōdekatwelve πατριάρχαςpatriarchaspatriarchs .
9ΚαὶKai[Because] οἱhoithe πατριάρχαιpatriarchaipatriarchs ζηλώσαντεςzēlōsanteswere jealous τὸνton- ἸωσὴφIōsēphof Joseph , ἀπέδοντοapedontothey sold him as a slave εἰςeisinto ΑἴγυπτονAigyptonEgypt .
10καὶkaiBut ἦνēnwas ho- ΘεὸςTheosGod μετ’met’with αὐτοῦautouhim καὶkaiand ἐξείλετοexeiletorescued αὐτὸνautonhim ἐκekfrom πασῶνpasōnall τῶνtōn- θλίψεωνthlipseōntroubles . αὐτοῦautouhis καὶkai- ἔδωκενedōken[He] granted αὐτῷautō[Joseph] χάρινcharinfavor καὶkaiand σοφίανsophianwisdom ἐναντίονenantionin the sight of ΦαραὼPharaōPharaoh βασιλέωςbasileōsking ΑἰγύπτουAigyptouof Egypt , καὶkai[who] κατέστησενkatestēsenappointed αὐτὸνautonhim ἡγούμενονhēgoumenonruler ἐπ’ep’over ΑἴγυπτονAigyptonEgypt καὶkaiand ὅλονholonall τὸνton- οἶκονoikonhousehold . αὐτοῦautouhis
11ἔλθῃelthēshould come δὲdeThen λιμὸςlimosfamine ἐφ’eph’vvv ὅληνholēnacross τὴνtēn- γῆνgēnland ΑἰγύπτουAigyptouof Egypt , καὶkai[who] ΧανάανChanaanCanaan , καὶkaiand θλῖψιςthlipsissuffering μεγάληmegalēgreat καὶkaiand οὐχouchvvv ηὕρισκονhēuriskoncould not find χορτάσματαchortasmatafood . οἱhoi- πατέρεςpateresfathers ἡμῶνhēmōnour
12ἀκούσαςakousasheard that δὲde[When] ἸακὼβIakōbJacob ὄνταonta[there] was σῖταsitagrain ἐνenOn ΑἰγύπτῳAigyptōEgypt ἐξαπέστειλεexapesteilehas sent τοὺςtous- πατέραςpaterasfathers [ἡμῶν]hēmōnour πρῶτονprōton[on their] first [visit] .
13καὶkai- ἐνenOn τῷ[their] δευτέρῳdeuterōsecond [visit] , ἀνεγνωρίσθη*anegnōristhērevealed his identity ἸωσὴφIōsēphJoseph τοῖςtoisto ἀδελφοῖςadelphoisbrothers , αὐτοῦautouhis καὶkaiand φανερὸνphaneronknown ἐγένετοegenetobecame τῷ- ΦαραὼPharaōto Pharaoh . τῷ- γένοςgenosfamily [τοῦ]tou- ἸωσήφIōsēph[his]
14ἀποστείλαςaposteilassent for δὲdeThen ἸωσὴφIōsēphJoseph μετεκαλέσατοmetekalesato. . . τὸνton- πατέραpaterafather αὐτοῦautouhis ἸακὼβIakōbJacob καὶkaiand πᾶσανpasanall τὴνtēn[his] συγγένειανsyngeneianrelatives , αὐτοῦautouhis ἐνenin all . ψυχαῖςpsychais. . . ἑβδομήκονταhebdomēkontaseventy-five πέντεpente. . .
15κατέβηkatebēwent down δὲdeThen ἸακὼβIakōbJacob εἰςeisto ΑἴγυπτονAigyptonEgypt , καὶkai[where] ἐτελεύτησενeteleutēsendied . αὐτὸςautoshe καὶkaiand οἱhoi- πατέρεςpateresfathers ἡμῶνhēmōnour
16καὶkaiand μετετέθησανmetetethēsanwere carried back εἰςeisto ΣυχὲμSychemShechem καὶkaiand ἐτέθησανetethēsanplaced ἐνenin τῷthe μνήματιmnēmatitomb that ὠνήσατοōnēsatohad bought ἈβραὰμAbraamAbraham τιμῆςtimēsfor a price he paid ἀργυρίουargyriouin silver . παρὰparafrom τῶνtōnthe υἱῶνhuiōnsons Ἑμμὼρ*Hemmōrof Hamor τοῦtou- , ΣυχέμSychemShechem
17ΚαθὼςKathōsAs δὲde- ἤγγιζενēngizendrew near ho- χρόνοςchronostime τῆςtēs- ἐπαγγελίαςepangelias[to fulfill] His promise ἐνenin ὤμοσενōmosenHe swore ho[our] ΘεὸςTheosGod τῷ- ἈβραάμAbraamto Abraham , ηὔξησενēuxēsenincreased ho[our] λαὸςlaospeople καὶkai- ἐπληθύνθηeplēthynthēgreatly in number . ἐνenin ΑἰγύπτῳAigyptōEgypt
18ἄχριςakhrisuntil οὗhou. . . ἀνέστηanestēarose βασιλεὺςbasileusking , ἕτεροςheterosanother ὃςhoswho οὐκouknothing ᾔδειēdeiknew τὸνton- ἸωσήφIōsēphof Joseph ,
19οὗτοςhoutosHe κατασοφισάμενοςkatasophisamenosexploited τὸto- γένοςgenospeople [ἡμῶν]hēmōnour ἐκάκωσεekakose[and] oppressed τοὺςtous- πατέραςpaterasfathers [ἡμῶν]hēmōnour τοῦtou- , ποιεῖνpoieinforcing [them] ἔκθεταekthetato abandon τὰta- βρέφηbrephēinfants αὐτῶνautōntheir εἰςeisso τὸto. . . μὴvvv ζωογονεῖσθαιzōogoneisthaithey would die .
20ἘνEnAt that καιρῷkairōtime ἐγεννήθηegennēthēwas born , ΜωϋσῆςMōusēsMoses καὶkaiand ἦνēnhe was ἀστεῖοςasteiosbeautiful τῷ- ΘεῷTheōin the sight of God . ὃςhos[he] ἀνετράφηanetraphēwas nurtured μῆναςmēnasmonths τρεῖςtreis[For] three ἐνenin τῷ[his] οἴκῳoikōhouse . τοῦtou- πατρόςpatrosfather’s αὐτοῦautouhe
21ἐκτεθένταektethentawas set outside , δὲde[When] αὐτὸνauton. . . ἀνείλετοaneiletotook him αὐτὸνauton. . . - θυγάτηρthygatērdaughter ΦαραὼPharaōPharaoh’s καὶkaiand ἀνεθρέψατοanethrepsatobrought him up αὐτὸνauton. . . ἑαυτῇheautēher own εἰςeisas υἱόνhuionson .
22καὶkaiSo ἐπαιδεύθηepaideuthēwas educated ΜωϋσῆςMōusēsMoses πάσῃpasēall σοφίᾳsophia[the] wisdom ΑἰγυπτίωνAigyptiōnof [the] Egyptians ἦνēnwas δὲdeand δυνατὸςdynatospowerful ἐνenin λόγοιςlogoisspeech καὶkaiand ἐνenin ἔργοιςergoisaction .
23ὩςHōsWhen δὲde- ἐπληροῦτοeplērouto[old] , αὐτῷautō[Moses] τεσσαρακονταετὴςtessarakontaetesforty years χρόνοςchronos[was] ἀνέβηanebēhe decided εἰςeisas τὴνtēn. . . καρδίανkardian. . . αὐτοῦautouhis ἐπισκέψασθαιepiskepsasthaito visit τοὺςtous- ἀδελφοὺςadelphousbrothers , αὐτοῦautouhis τοὺςtous- υἱοὺςhuiouschildren ἸσραήλIsraēlof Israel .
24καὶkaiAnd ἰδώνidōnwhen he saw τιναtinaone [of them] ἀδικούμενονadikoumenonbeing mistreated , ἠμύνατοēmynato[Moses] went to his defense καὶkaiand ἐποιήσατοepoiesatohas done ἐκδίκησινekdikēsinavenged [him] τῷ- καταπονουμένῳkataponoumenōwho was oppressing [him] . πατάξαςpataxasby striking down τὸνtonthe ΑἰγύπτιονAigyptionEgyptian
25ἐνόμιζεenomizeHe assumed δὲde- συνιέναιsynienaiwould understand τοὺςtous- ἀδελφοὺςadelphousbrothers [αὐτοῦ]autouhis ὅτιhotithat ho- ΘεὸςTheosGod διὰdiavvv χειρὸςcheiroswas using him αὐτοῦautouvvv δίδωσινdidōsinvvv αὐτοῖςautoisvvv σωτηρίανsōtērianto deliver them , οἱhoi- δὲdebut οὐouvvv συνῆκανsynēkan[they did not] .
26τεte- τεte- ἐπιούσῃepiousēnext ἡμέρᾳhēmeraday ὤφθηōphthēhe came upon αὐτοῖςautois[two Israelites who] μαχομένοιςmachomenoiswere fighting , καὶkai- συνήλασενsunelasenand he tried to reconcile them αὐτοὺςautous. . . εἰςeis. . . εἰρήνηνeirēnēn. . . , εἰπώνeipōnsaying , ἌνδρεςAndres‘ Men , ἀδελφοίadelphoibrothers . ἐστεesteyou are ὑμεῖςhymeisyou ἵναhinaso that τίtiWhy ἀδικεῖτεadikeiteare you mistreating ἀλλήλουςallēlouseach other ? ’
27Hothe [man who] δὲdeBut ἀδικῶνadikōnwas abusing τὸνton[his] πλησίονplēsionneighbor ἀπώσατοapōsatopushed [Moses] aside αὐτὸνauton. . . εἰπώνeipōn[and] said , ΤίςTis‘ Who σεseyou κατέστησενkatestēsenmade ἄρχονταarchontaruler καὶkaiand δικαστὴνdikastēnjudge ἐφ’eph’over ἡμῶνhēmōnus ?
28μὴvvv ἀνελεῖνaneleinto kill me μεme. . . σὺsy{Do} you θέλειςtheleiswant ὃνhonas τρόπονtropon. . . ἀνεῖλεςaneilesyou killed ἐχθὲςechthesyesterday ?’ τὸνtonthe ΑἰγύπτιονAigyptionEgyptian
29ἔφυγεephugeand ran away δὲde- ΜωϋσῆςMōusēsMoses ἐνento τῷ- λόγῳlogōremark , τούτῳtoutōthis καὶkai- ἐγένετοegenetohe lived as πάροικοςparoikosa foreigner ἐνento γῇ[the] land ΜαδιάμMadiamof Midian , οὗhouwhere ἐγέννησενegennēsen[and] had υἱοὺςhuioussons . δύοdyotwo
30ΚαὶKai[After] πληρωθέντωνplērōthentōnhad passed , ἐτῶνetōnyears τεσσαράκονταtessarakonta[where for] forty ὤφθηōphthēappeared αὐτῷautōto [Moses] ἐνenin τῇthe ἐρήμῳerēmōdesert τοῦtounear ὄρουςorousMount ΣινᾶSinaSinai . ἄγγελοςangelosan angel ΚυρίουKyriouof [the] Lord ἐνenin φλογὶphlogi[the] flames πυρὸςpyrosof a burning βάτουbatoubush
31ho- δὲde[When] ΜωϋσῆςMōusēsMoses ἰδὼνidōnsaw [it] , ἐθαύμαζεethaumazeHe was amazed τὸtothe ὅραμαhoramasight . προσερχομένουproserchomenouapproached δὲde- αὐτοῦautou[As] he κατανοῆσαιkatanoēsaito look [more closely] , ἐγένετοegenetocame [to him] : φωνὴphōnē[the] voice ΚυρίουKyriouof [the] Lord πρὸςpros. . . αὐτόνautonhim ,
32ἐγώegōI [that] ΘεὸςTheosGod τὸνton- πατέρωνpaterōnfathers , σουsouof your hothe ΘεὸςTheosGod ἈβραὰμAbraamof Abraham , καὶkai- hothe ΘεὸςTheosGod ἸσαὰκIsaakIsaac , καὶkaiand hothe ΘεὸςTheosGod ἸακώβIakōbJacob .’ ἔντρομοςentromostrembled with fear δὲde- γενόμενοςgenomenosvvv ΜωϋσῆςMōusēsMoses οὐκoukvvv ἐτόλμαetolma[and] did not dare κατανοῆσαιkatanoēsaito look .
33εἰπὲeipesay δὲdeThen αὐτῷautōto him , hothe ΚύριοςKyriosLord ΛῦσονLyson‘ Take off τὸto[your] ὑπόδημαhypodēmasandals , τῶνtōn. . . ποδῶνpodōn. . . σουsou. . . hothe γὰρgarfor τόποςtoposplace ἐνenin where ἕστηκαςhestēkasyou are standing γῆground . ἁγίαhagiaholy ἐστίνestinis
34ἰδὼνidōnI have indeed seen εἶδονeidon. . . τὴνtēnthe κάκωσινkakōsinoppression τοῦtouof λαοῦlaoupeople μουmouMy τοῦtouof ἐνenin ΑἰγύπτῳAigyptōEgypt . καὶkai- τοῦtou- στεναγμοῦstenagmougroaning αὐτῶνautōntheir ἤκουσαēkousaI have heard καὶkai- κατέβηνkatebēnhave come down ἐξελέσθαιexelesthaito deliver αὐτούςautousthem . καὶkai- νῦνnynNow δεῦροdeurocome , ἈποστελῶApostelō‘ I will send σεseyou εἰςeisback to ΑἴγυπτονAigyptonEgypt .’
35ΤοῦτονToutonThis τὸνton- ΜωϋσῆνMōusēnMoses , ὃνhonwhom ἠρνήσαντοērnēsantothey had rejected εἰπόντεςeiponteswith the words , ΤίςTis‘ Who σεseyou κατέστησενkatestēsenmade ἄρχονταarchontaruler καὶkaiand δικαστήνdikastēnjudge ? ’ τοῦτονtouton[is] the one howhom ΘεὸςTheosGod ἄρχονταarchontato be [their] ruler καὶkaiand λυτρωτὴνlytrōtēnredeemer ἀπέστειλενapesteilenHe sent them out ἐνenin χειρὶcheiri. . . ἀγγέλουangelou[the] angel τοῦtouwho ὀφθέντοςophthentosappeared αὐτῷautōto him ἐνenin τῇthe βάτῳbatōbush .
36οὗτοςhoutos[He] ἐξήγαγενexēgagenled them out αὐτοὺςautous. . . ποιήσαςpoiēsas[and] performed τέραταteratawonders καὶkaiand σημεῖαsēmeiasigns ἐνenin γῇ[the] land ΑἰγύπτῳAigyptōof Egypt , καὶkai- ἐνenat ἘρυθρᾷErythra[the] Red ΘαλάσσῃThalassēSea , καὶkaiand ἐνenin τῇthe ἐρήμῳerēmōwilderness . ἔτηetēyears τεσσαράκοντα.tessarakonta[where for] forty
37ΟὗτόςHoutosThis ἐστινestinis hothe [same] ΜωϋσῆςMōusēsMoses howho εἰπώνeipōn[and] said , τοῖςtoisthe υἱοῖςhuioisvvv ἸσραήλIsraēlIsraelites , ΠροφήτηνProphētēna prophet ὑμῖνhyminfor you ἀναστήσειanastēseiwill raise up ΚύριοςKyriosLord hothe ΘεὸςTheosGod ὑμῶνhymōnyour ἐκekfrom among τῶνtōn- ἀδελφῶνadelphōnbrothers .’ ὑμῶνhymōnyour ὡςhōslike ἐμέememe αὐτοῦautoutheir ἀκούσεσθεakousestheYou must listen to
38οὗτοςhoutos[He] ἐστινestinis hothe [same] γενόμενοςgenomenoswas ἐνenin τῇthe ἐκκλησίᾳekklēsiaassembly ἐνenin τῇthe ἐρήμῳerēmōwilderness μετὰmetawith τοῦtouthe ἀγγέλουangelouangel τοῦtouwho λαλοῦντοςlalountosspoke αὐτῷautōto him ἐνenon τῷ- ὄρειoreiMount ΣινᾶSinaSinai , καὶkaiand τῶνtōn- πατέρωνpaterōnfathers . ἡμῶνhēmōnour ὃςhos[with] ἐδέξατοedexato[And] he received λόγιαlogiawords ζῶνταzōntaliving δοῦναιdounaito pass on ἡμῖν*hēminto us .
39[him] . οὐκouk. . . ἠθέλησανēthelēsanrefused ὑπήκοοιhypēkooiobey γενέσθαιgenesthaito οἱhoi- πατέρεςpateresfathers ἡμῶνhēmōn[But] our ἀλλὰallaInstead , ἀπώσαντοapōsantothey rejected [him] καὶkaiand ἐστράφησανestraphēsanturned back τῇthe καρδίᾳkardiahearts αὐτῶνautōntheir εἰςeisto ΑἴγυπτονAigyptonEgypt .
40εἰπόντεςeipontesThey said τῷ- ἈαρώνAarōnto Aaron , ΠοίησονPoiēson‘ Make ἡμῖνhēminus θεοὺςtheousgods οἳhoiwho προπορεύσονταιproporeusontaiwill go before ἡμῶνhēmōnus ! ho- γὰρgarAs for ΜωϋσῆςMōusēsMoses οὗτοςhoutosthis ὃςhoswho ἐξήγαγενexēgagenled us ἡμᾶςhēmas. . . ἐκekout of γῆςgēs[the] land ΑἰγύπτουAigyptouof Egypt , οὐκoukvvv οἴδαμενoidamenwe do not know τίtiwhat γέγονενgegonenhas been done , αὐτῷautōto him .’
41ΚαὶKai- ἐμοσχοποίησανemoschopoiēsanthey made a calf ἐνenAt ταῖςtais- ἡμέραιςhēmeraistime ἐκείναιςekeinaisthat ΚαὶKai- ἀνήγαγονanēgagonoffered θυσίανthysiana sacrifice τῷto the εἰδώλῳeidōlōidol , καὶkai- εὐφραίνοντοeuphrainontorejoicing ἐνenin τοῖςtoisthe ἔργοιςergoisworks τῶνtōnof χειρῶνcheirōnhands . αὐτῶνautōntheir
42ἔστρεψεestrepseturned away [from them] δὲdeBut ho- ΘεὸςTheosGod καὶkaiand παρέδωκενparedōkengave them over αὐτοὺςautous. . . λατρεύεινlatreueinto the worship τῇof the στρατιᾷstratiahost τοῦtouof οὐρανοῦouranouheaven , καθὼςkathōsas γέγραπταιgegraptaiit is written ἐνenin βίβλῳbiblō[the] book τῶνtōnof the προφητῶνprophētōnprophets : Μὴvvv σφάγιαsphagiasacrifices καὶkaiand θυσίαςthysiasofferings προσηνέγκατέprosēnenkate‘ Did you bring μοιmoiMe ἔτηetēyears τεσσαράκονταtessarakonta[where for] forty ἐνenin τῇthe ἐρήμῳerēmōwilderness , οἶκοςoikosO house ἸσραήλIsraēlof Israel ?
43καὶkai- ἀνελάβετεanelabeteYou have taken along τὴνtēnthe σκηνὴνskēnēntabernacle τοῦtou- ΜολὸχMolochof Molech καὶkaiand τὸtothe ἄστρονastronstar τοῦtouof θεοῦtheougod [ὑμῶν]hymōnyour Ρεμφάν,remphanRephan , τοὺςtousthe τύπουςtypousidols οὓςhous- ἐποιήσατεepoiēsateyou made προσκυνεῖνproskyneinto worship αὐτοῖςautois- . καὶkai[Therefore] μετοικιῶmetoikiōI will send you into exile ὑμᾶςhymas. . . ἐπέκειναepekeinabeyond ΒαβυλῶνοςBabylōnosBabylon .’

46ὃςhoswho εὕρῃheurēfinds [them] χάρινcharinfavor ἐνώπιονenōpionin the sight τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God καὶkaiand ᾐτήσατοētēsatoasked εὑρεῖνheureinto provide σκήνωμαskēnōmaa dwelling place τῷfor the ΘεῷTheōGod ἸακώβIakōbof Jacob .

52τίναtinaWhich τῶνtōnof the προφητῶνprophētōnprophets οὐκoukfail ἐδίωξανediōxanto persecute ? οἱhoi- πατέρεςpateresfathers ὑμῶνhymōn{did} your καὶkaivvv ἀπέκτεινανapekteinanThey even killed τοὺςtousthose who προκαταγγείλανταςprokatangeilantasforetold περὶperi. . . τῆςtēsthe ἐλεύσεωςeleuseōscoming τοῦtouof the ΔικαίουDikaiouRighteous One . οὗhou[His] νῦνnynAnd now ὑμεῖςhymeisyou προδόταιprodotaibetrayers καὶkaiand φονεῖςphoneismurderers — γεγένησθε.gegenestheyou have not been
53οἵτινεςhoitines[you] who ἐλάβετεelabetereceived τὸνtonthe νόμονnomonlaw εἰςeisby διαταγὰςdiatagasordained ἀγγέλωνangelōnangels , καὶkaiyet οὐκoukvvv ἐφυλάξατεephylaxatehave not kept [it] . ”
54ἈκούοντεςAkouontesOn hearing δὲde- ταῦταtautathis , διεπρίοντοdieprionto[the members of the Sanhedrin] were enraged ταῖςtais. . . καρδίαιςkardiais. . . , αὐτῶνautōn. . . καὶkaiand ἔβρυχονebrychonthey gnashed τοὺςtous[their] ὀδόνταςodontasteeth ἐπ’ep’at αὐτόνautonhim .
55ὑπάρχωνhyparchōn[Stephen] , δὲdeBut πλήρηςplērēsfull ΠνεύματοςPneumatosof [the] Holy Spirit , ἉγίουHagiouvvv ἀτενίσαςatenisaslooked intently εἰςeisinto τὸνton- οὐρανὸνouranonheaven εἶδεeidesaw δόξανdoxan[the] glory ΘεοῦTheouof God καὶkaiand ἸησοῦνIēsounJesus ἑστῶταhestōtastanding ἐκekat δεξιῶνdexiōnthe right hand τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God .
56καὶkai- εἶπενeipenhe said , ἸδοὺIdou“ Look , ” θεωρῶtheōrō“ I see τοὺςtous- οὐρανοὺςouranousheaven ἀνεῳγμένουςaneogmenousopen-up καὶkaiand τὸνtonthe ΥἱὸνHuionSon τοῦtou- ἀνθρώπουanthrōpouof Man ἐκekat δεξιῶνdexiōnthe right [hand] τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God . ” ἑστῶταhestōtastanding
57ΚράξαντεςKraxantescried out δὲdeAt this φωνῇphōnēin a loud voice , μεγάλῃmegalēvvv συνέσχονsyneschonthey covered τὰta- ὦταōtaears , αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand ὥρμησανhōrmēsanrushed ὁμοθυμαδὸνhomothymadontogether ἐπ’ep’at αὐτόνautonhim .
58καὶkai- ἐκβαλόντεςekbalontesThey dragged [him] ἔξωexōout of τῆςtēsthe πόλεωςpoleōscity ἐλιθοβόλουνelithoboloun[and] began to stone [him] . καὶkaiMeanwhile οἱhoithe μάρτυρεςmartyreswitnesses ἀπέθεντοapethentolaid τὰta- ἱμάτιαhimatiagarments αὐτῶνautōntheir παρὰparaat τοὺςtousthe πόδαςpodasfeet νεανίουneaniouof a young man καλουμένουkaloumenounamed ΣαύλουSaulouSaul .
