2‹καὶ›kaiand ἐγένετοegenetocame ἄφνωaphnōSuddenly ἐκekfrom τοῦtou- οὐρανοῦouranouheaven ἦχοςēchosa sound ὥσπερhōsperlike φερομένηςpheromenēsrushing πνοῆςpnoēswind βιαίαςbiaiasa mighty καὶkai- ἐπλήρωσενeplērōsenfilled ὅλονholonwhole τὸνtonthe οἶκονoikonhouse οὗhouwhere ἦσανēsanthey were καθήμενοιkathēmenoisitting .
3καὶkai- ὤφθησανōphthēsansaw αὐτοῖςautoisThey διαμεριζόμεναιdiamerizomenaithat separated γλῶσσαιglōssaitongues ὡσεὶhōseilike πυρόςpyrosflames of fire ἐκάθισέekathise[and] sat down . τῇ[his] ἐφ’eph’on ἕναhena. . . ἕκαστονhekastoneach αὐτῶνautōnof them .
4καὶkaiAnd ἐπλήσθησανeplēsthēsanfilled with ἅπαντεςhapantesall ΠνεύματοςPneumatosSpirit ἉγίουHagiou[the] Holy καὶkaiand ἤρξαντοērxantobegan λαλεῖνlaleinto speak ἑτέραιςheteraisin other γλώσσαιςglōssaistongues καθὼςkathōsas τὸtothe ΠνεῦμαPneumaSpirit ἐδίδουedidouenabled αὐτοῖςautoisthem . ἀποφθέγγεσθαιapophthengesthai. . .

11ΚρῆτεςKrētesCretans καὶkaiand ἌραβεςArabesArabs — ἀκούομενakouomenwe hear λαλούντωνlalountōndeclaring αὐτῶνautōnthem ταῖςtais- ἡμετέραιςhēmeterais[in] our own γλώσσαιςglōssaistongues ! ” τὰtathe μεγαλεῖαmegaleiawonders τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God
12ἘξίσταντοExistantoAstounded δὲde- πάντεςpantes- καὶkaiand διηπόρουν*diēporounperplexed , ἄλλοςallosone another πρὸςpros- ἄλλονallon. . . , λέγοντεςlegontesthey asked ΤίTi“ What ἂνan. . . θέλοιtheloihe wanted τοῦτοtouto- εἶναιeinaimean ? ”
13ἝτεροιHeteroiothers δὲdeBut χλευάζοντεςkhleuazontesmocked [them] ἔλεγονelegon[and] said , ὅτιhoti- ΓλεύκουςGleukouson new wine ! ” μεμεστωμένοιmemestōmenoidrunk εἰσί.eisiare
14ΣταθεὶςStatheisstood up δὲdeThen ΠέτροςPetrosPeter σὺνsynwith τοῖςtoisthe ἕνδεκαhendekaEleven , ἐπῆρεeperelifted up τὴνtēn- φωνὴνphōnēnvoice , αὐτοῦautouhis καὶkaiand ἀπεφθέγξατοapephthenxatoaddressed αὐτοῖςautois[the crowd] : ἌνδρεςAndres“ Men ἸουδαῖοιIoudaioiof Judea καὶkaiand οἱhoiwho κατοικοῦντεςkatoikountesdwell ἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēmin Jerusalem , ἅπαντεςhapantesall τοῦτοtoutovvv ὑμῖνhyminto you , γνωστὸνgnōstonknown ἔστωestōlet this be καὶkaiand ἐνωτίσασθεenōtisasthelisten carefully to τὰta- ῥήματάrhēmatawords . μουmoumy
15οὐouvvv γὰρgar- ὡςhōsas ὑμεῖςhymeisyou ὑπολαμβάνετεhypolambanetesuppose . οὗτοιhoutoiThese [men] μεθύουσινmethyousinare not drunk , ἐστίestiI have γὰρgar- ὥραhōrahour τρίτηtritē[only the] third τῆςtēsof the ἡμέραςhēmerasday !
16ἀλλὰallaNo , τοῦτόtoutothis ἐστίestiI have τὸtowhat εἰρημένονeirēmenonwas spoken διὰdiaby τοῦtouthe προφήτουprophētouprophet ἸωήλIōēlJoel :
17ΚαὶKai‘ - ἔσταιestai- , ἐνenIn ταῖςtaisthe ἐσχάταιςeschataislast ἡμέραιςhēmeraisdays λέγειlegeisays , ho- ΘεόςTheosGod ἐκχεῶekcheōI will pour out ἀπὸapo- τοῦtou- ΠνεύματόςPneumatosSpirit μουmouMy ἐπὶepion πᾶσανpasanall σάρκαsarkapeople . καὶkai- προφητεύσουσινprophēteusousinwill prophesy , οἱhoi- υἱοὶhuioisons ὑμῶνhymōn- καὶkaiand αἱhai- θυγατέρεςthygateresdaughters ὑμῶνhymōn- καὶkaiand οἱhoi- νεανίσκοιneaniskoiyoung men ὑμῶνhymōnyour ὁράσειςhoraseisvisions , ὄψονταιopsontaiwill see καὶkai- οἱhoi- πρεσβύτεροιpresbyteroiold men ὑμῶνhymōnyour ἐνύπνιαenupniadreams . ἐνυπνιασθήσονταιenypniasthēsontaiwill dream
18καὶkai- γεgeEven ἐπὶepion τοὺςtous- δούλουςdoulousmenservants μουmouMy καὶkaiand ἐπὶepi- τὰςtas- δούλαςdoulasmaidservants μουmou- ἐνenin ταῖςtais- ἡμέραιςhēmeraisdays , ἐκείναιςekeinaisthose ἐκχεῶekcheōI will pour out ἀπὸapo. . . τοῦtou- ΠνεύματόςPneumatosSpirit μουmouMy καὶkaiand προφητεύσουσι.propheteusousiwill prophesy ,
19καὶkaiand δώσωdōsōI will show τέραταteratawonders ἐνenin τῷthe οὐρανῷouranōheavens ἄνωanōabove καὶkaiand σημεῖαsēmeiasigns ἐπὶepion τῆςtēsthe γῆςgēsearth κάτωkatōbelow , αἷμαhaimablood καὶkaiand πῦρpyrfire καὶkaiand ἀτμίδαatmidabillows καπνοῦkapnouof smoke .
20hoThe ἥλιοςhēliossun μεταστραφήσεταιmetastraphēsetaiwill be turned εἰςeisto σκότοςskotosdarkness , καὶkaiand the σελήνηselēnēmoon εἰςeisto αἷμαhaimablood , πρὶνprinbefore the ἐλθεῖνeltheincoming τὴνtēnthe ἡμέρανhēmeranDay ΚυρίουKyriouof [the] Lord . τὴνtēnthe μεγάληνmegalēn[of the] great καὶkaiand ἐπιφανῆepiphanēglorious
21καὶkaiand ἔσταιestai- πᾶςpaseveryone ὃςhoswho ἂνan. . . ἐπικαλέσηταιepikalesētaicalls τὸtoon the ὄνομαonomaname ΚυρίουKyriouof [the] Lord σωθήσεταιsōthēsetaiwill be saved .’
22ἌνδρεςAndresMen ἸσραηλῖταιIsraēlitaiof Israel , ἀκούσατεakousatelisten to τοὺςtous- λόγουςlogousmessage : τούτουςtoutousthis ἸησοῦνIēsounJesus τὸνtonof ΝαζωραῖονNazōraionNazareth ἄνδραandra[was] a man ἀπὸapoby τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod ἀποδεδειγμένονapodedeigmenoncertified εἰςeisto ὑμᾶςhymasyou δυνάμεσιdynamesiby miracles , καὶkai- τέρασιterasiwonders , καὶkaiand σημείοιςsēmeioissigns , οἷςhoiswhich ἐποίησεepoiesehas done δι’di’through αὐτοῦautouHim , ho- ΘεὸςTheosGod ἐνenvvv μέσῳmesōamong you ὑμῶνhymōnvvv καθὼςkathōsas καὶkaiand αὐτοὶautoiyou yourselves οἴδατεoidateknow .
23τοῦτονtoutonHe τῇby ὡρισμένῃhōrismenēset βουλῇboulēplan καὶkaiand προγνώσειprognōseiforeknowledge , τοῦtouvvv ΘεοῦTheouGod’s ἔκδοτονekdotonwas delivered up λαβόντεςlabontesthey seized διὰdia{and you}, by χειρὸςcheirosthe hands ἀνόμωνanomōnof the lawless , προσπήξαντεςprospēxantesby nailing [Him] to the cross . ἀνείλατεaneilateput [Him] to death
24ὃνhonvvv ho[But] ΘεὸςTheosGod ἀνέστησεanesteseraised Him from the dead , λύσαςlysasreleasing [Him] τὰςtasfrom the ὠδῖναςōdinasagony τοῦtouof θανάτουthanatoudeath , καθότιkathotibecause οὐκoukvvv ἦνēnit was δυνατὸνdynatonimpossible κρατεῖσθαιkrateisthaito be held αὐτὸνauton[for] Him ὑπ’hyp’in αὐτοῦautouits [clutches] .
25ΔαυὶδDauidDavid γὰρgar- λέγειlegeisays εἰςeisabout αὐτόνautonHim : ΠροορώμηνProorōmēn‘ I saw τὸνtonthe ΚύριονKyrionLord ἐνώπιόνenōpionbefore μουmoume ; διὰdiaalways παντόςpantos. . . ὅτιhotibecause ἐκekat δεξιῶνdexiōnright hand , μούmoumy ἐστινestinHe is ἵναhinavvv μὴvvv σαλευθῶsaleuthōI will not be shaken .
26διὰdiaTherefore τοῦτοtouto. . . ηὐφράνθηēuphranthēis glad «ἡ- καρδία»kardiaheart μουmoumy καὶkaiand ἠγαλλιάσατοēgalliasatorejoices ; - γλῶσσάglōssatongue μουmoumy ἔτιeti- δὲde- καὶkaialso - σάρξsarxbody μουmoumy κατασκηνώσειkataskēnōseiwill dwell ἐπ’ep’in ἐλπίδιelpidihope ,
27ὅτιhotibecause οὐκoukvvv ἐγκαταλείψειςegkataleipseisYou will not abandon τὴνtēn- ψυχήνpsychēnsoul μουmoumy εἰςeisto ᾅδουhadouHades ! οὐδὲoudenor δώσειςdōseiswill You let τὸνton- ὍσιόνHosionHoly One σουsouYour ἰδεῖνideinsee διαφθοράνdiaphthorandecay .
28ἐγνώρισάςegnōrisasYou have made known μοιmoito me ὁδοὺςhodous[the] paths ζωῆςzōēsof life ; πληρώσειςplērōseisYou will fill μεmeme εὐφροσύνηςeuphrosynēswith joy μετὰmetain τοῦtou- προσώπουprosōpoupresence .’ σουsouYour
29ἌνδρεςAndresvvv ἀδελφοίadelphoiBrothers , ἐξὸνexonI can εἰπεῖνeipeintell μετὰmetavvv παρρησίαςparrēsiaswith confidence πρὸςprosvvv ὑμᾶςhymasyou περὶperi- τοῦtouthe πατριάρχουpatriarchoupatriarch ΔαυὶδDauidDavid ὅτιhotithat καὶkai- ἐτελεύτησεeteleutesedied καὶkai- ἐτάφηetaphēwas buried , καὶkaiand τὸto- μνῆμαmnēmatomb αὐτοῦautouhis ἔστινestinis ἐνenwith ἡμῖνhēminus ἄχριachrito τῆςtēs- ἡμέραςhēmerasday . ταύτηςtautēsthis
30προφήτηςprophētēsa prophet οὖνoun[But] ὑπάρχωνhyparchōnhe was καὶkaiand εἰδὼςeidōsknew ὅτιhotithat ὅρκῳhorkōon oath ὤμοσενōmosenhad promised αὐτῷautōhim ho- ΘεὸςTheosGod ἐκek[one] of καρποῦkarpouvvv τῆςtēsvvv ὀσφύοςosphyos[his descendants] αὐτοῦautouvvv τὸto- κατὰkatanear σάρκαsarkapeople . ἀναστήσεινanastesein[the] rise τὸνtonof ΧριστὸνChristonChrist ! ” καθίσαιkathisaithat He would place ἐπὶepion τοῦtouof the θρόνουthronouthrone . αὐτοῦautou{did] His
31προϊδὼνproidōnForeseeing this , ἐλάλησεelaleseHe promised περὶperiabout τῆςtēsthe ἀναστάσεωςanastaseōsresurrection τοῦtouof the ΧριστοῦChristouChrist , ὅτιhotithat οὗhouto which κατελείφθηkateleiphthēwas left , - ψυχῇpsychē. . . , αὐτοῦautouhis εἰςeis. . . ᾅδουhadouHades ! οὔτεoutenor - σὰρξsarxbody αὐτοῦautou{did] His εἶδεeidesaw διαφθοράνdiaphthorandecay .
32ΤοῦτονToutonthis τὸνton- ἸησοῦνIēsounJesus {to life} , ἀνέστησενanestēsenhas raised ho- ΘεόςTheosGod οὗhouto which πάντεςpantesall ἡμεῖςhēmeiswe ἐσμενesmenare μάρτυρεςmartyreswitnesses .
33τῇto the δεξιᾷdexiaright hand οὖνounthen , τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God , ὑψωθεὶςhypsōtheisExalted , τήνtēnthe τεte- ἐπαγγελίανepangelianpromised τοῦtou- ἉγίουHagiouHoly ΠνεύματοςPneumatosSpirit λαβὼνlabōnHe has received παρὰparafrom τοῦtouthe ΠατρὸςPatrosFather ἐξέχεεexekhee[and] has poured out τοῦτοtouto- howhat νῦνnynnow on ὑμεῖςhymeisyou βλέπετεblepetesee καὶkaiand ἀκούετεakouetehear .
34ΟὐOu{did} not γὰρgarFor ΔαυὶδDauidDavid ἀνέβηanebēascend εἰςeisinto τοὺςtous- οὐρανούςouranousheaven , λέγειlegeisays : δὲdebut αὐτόςautoshe himself ΕἶπενEipensaid ΚύριοςKyriosLord τῷto ΚυρίῳKyriōLord , μουmoumy ΚάθουKathou“ Sit ἐκekat δεξιῶνdexiōnright hand μουmouMy
35ἕωςheōsuntil ἂνan. . . θῶthōI make τοὺςtous- ἐχθρούςechthrousenemies σουsouYour ὑποπόδιονhypopodiona footstool τῶνtōnfor ποδῶνpodōnfeet .”’ σουsouYour
36ἈσφαλῶςAsphalōswith certainty οὖνounTherefore γινωσκέτωginōsketōknow πᾶςpas{let} all οἶκοςoikosvvv ἸσραὴλIsraēlIsrael ὅτιhotithat καὶkaiboth ΚύριονKyrionLord καὶkaiand ΧριστὸνChristonChrist ! ” αὐτὸνauton- ho- ΘεόςTheosGod ἐποίησε,epoiesehas done τοῦτονtoutonthis τὸνton- ἸησοῦνIēsounJesus , ὃνhonwhom ὑμεῖςhymeisyou ἐσταυρώσατεestaurōsatecrucified ,
37ἈκούσαντεςAkousantes[the people] heard [this] , δὲde[When] κατενύγησανkatenygēsanthey were cut τεteand καρδία»kardiaheart εἶπόνeiponasked τεteand πρὸςpros. . . τὸνton- ΠέτρονPetronPeter καὶkaiand τοὺςtousthe λοιποὺςloipousother ἀποστόλουςapostolousapostles , ΤίTiwhat ποιήσωμενpoiēsōmenshall we do ? ” ἄνδρεςandres“ vvv ἀδελφοίadelphoiBrothers ,
38ΠέτροςPetrosPeter δὲde- ἔφηephēHe said πρὸςpros- αὐτούςautous- , ΜετανοήσατεMetanoēsate“ Repent ΚαὶKaiand βαπτισθήτωbaptisthētōbe baptized , ἕκαστοςhekastosevery one ὑμῶνhymōnof you , ἐπὶepiin τῷthe ὀνόματιonomatiname ἸησοῦIēsouof Jesus ΧριστοῦChristouChrist εἰςeisfor the ἄφεσινaphesinforgiveness ἁμαρτιῶνhamartiōnsins , καὶkaiand λήψεσθεlepsestheyou will receive τὴνtēnthe δωρεὰνdōreangift τοῦtouof the ἉγίουHagiouHoly ΠνεύματοςPneumatosSpirit .
39ὑμῖνhyminto you γάρgar- ἐστινestinbelongs [This] ἐπαγγελίαepangeliapromise καὶkaiand τοῖςtois- τέκνοιςteknoischildren ὑμῶνhymōnyour καὶkaiand πᾶσιpasiall τοῖςtoiswho [are] εἰςeis. . . μακρὰνmakranfar off — ὅσουςhosousto all whom ἂνan. . . προσκαλέσηταιproskalesētaiwill call to Himself . ” ΚύριοςKyrios[the] Lord ho- ΘεὸςTheosGod ἡμῶνhēmōnour
40ἙτέροιςHeteroisother τεteWith λόγοιςlogoiswords πλείοσιpleiosimany διεμαρτύρατοdiemartyratohe testified , καὶkaiand παρεκάλειparekaleihe urged λέγωνlegōn- , ΣώθητεSōthēte“ Be saved ἀπὸapofrom τῆςtēs- γενεᾶςgeneasgeneration . ” τῆςtēs- σκολιᾶςskoliascorrupt ταύτηςtautēsthis
41οἱhoiThose who μὲνmen- οὖνoun- ἀσμένωςasmenōsjoyfully . ἀποδεξάμενοιapodexamenoiembraced τὸνton- λόγονlogonmessage αὐτοῦautouhis ἐβαπτίσθησανebaptisthēsanwere baptized , καὶkaiand προσετέθησανprosetethēsanwere added [ to the believers ] τῇ- ἡμέρᾳhēmeraday . ἐκείνῃekeinēthat ψυχαὶpsychai. . . ὡσεὶhōseiabout τρισχίλιαιtrischiliaithree thousand
42ἮσανĒsanThey δὲde- προσκαρτεροῦντεςproskarterountesdevoted themselves τῇto διδαχῇdidachēteaching τῶνtōnthe ἀποστόλωνapostolōnapostles’ καὶkaiand τῇto the κοινωνίᾳkoinōniafellowship , καὶkaiand τῇto the κλάσειklaseibreaking τοῦtou- ἄρτουartouof bread καὶkaiand ταῖςtaisto προσευχαῖςproseuchaisprayer .
43ἐγένετοegenetocame δὲdeNow πάσῃpasēeveryone ψυχῇpsychē. . . , φόβοςphobosA sense of awe πολλάpollamany τε*teand τέραταteratawonders καὶkaiand σημεῖαsēmeiasigns . διὰdia. . . τῶνtōnthe ἀποστόλωνapostolōnapostles ἐγίνετοeginetoperformed
44ΠάντεςPantesAll δὲde- οἱhoithe πιστεύσαντεςpisteusantesthey may not believe ἦσαν›ēsanwere ἐπὶepitogether τὸto. . . αὐτὸauto. . . ‹καὶ›kaiand εἶχονeichonhad ἅπανταhapantaeverything κοινάkoinain common .

46Καθ’Kath’vvv ἡμέρανhēmerandaily τεteand προσκαρτεροῦντεςproskarterountesthey continued [to meet] ὁμοθυμαδὸνhomothymadonWith one accord ἐνenin τῷthe ἱερῷhierōtemple [courts] κλῶντέςklōntesto break τεteand κατ’kat’from οἶκονoikonhouse [to house] , ἄρτονartonbread μετελάμβανονmetelambanonsharing τροφῆςtrophēs[their] meals ἐνenwith ἀγαλλιάσειagalliaseigladness καὶkaiand ἀφελότητιaphelotētisincerity καρδίαςkardiasof heart ,
47αἰνοῦντεςainountespraising τὸνton- ΘεὸνTheonGod καὶkaiand ἔχοντεςechontesenjoying χάρινcharin[the] favor πρὸςprosof ὅλονholonall τὸνtonthe λαόνlaonpeople . hothe δὲdeAnd ΚύριοςKyriosLord προσετίθειprosetitheiadded τοὺςtousthose who σῳζομένουςsōzomenouswere being saved . καθ’kath’vvv ἡμέρανhēmerandaily τεteand ἐκκλησίᾳekklēsiachurch
