22ΚαὶKaiAnd οὐδεὶςoudeisno one βάλλειballeipours οἶνονoinonwine νέονneonnew εἰςeisinto ἀσκοὺςaskouswineskins . παλαιούςpalaiousold εἰeiIf he does δὲde. . . μή. . . , ῥήσσειrhēsseiit throws him to the ground hothe οἶνοςoinoswine hothe νέοςneosnew τοὺςtousthe ἀσκούςaskousskins , καὶkaiand [both] hothe οἶνοςoinoswine ἐκχεῖταιekcheitaiwill spill , καὶkaiand οἱhoithe ἀσκοίaskoiwineskins ἀπολοῦνταιapolountaiwill be ruined . ἀλλὰallaInstead , οἶνονoinonwine [is poured] νέονneonnew εἰςeisinto ἀσκοὺςaskouswineskins .” καινούςkainousnew βλητέονblēteonis poured
23ΚαὶKaivvv ἐγένετοegenetovvv παραπορεύεσθαιparaporeuesthaiwas passing αὐτὸνauton[Jesus] ἐνenOne τοῖςtois- σάββασιsabbasiSabbath ? ” διὰdiathrough τῶνtōnthe σπορίμωνsporimōngrainfields , καὶkaiand ἤρξαντοērxantobegan οἱhoi- μαθηταὶmathētaidisciples αὐτοῦautouHis ὁδὸνhodon. . . . ποιεῖνpoiein[as] they walked along τίλλοντεςtillontesto pick τοὺςtousthe στάχυαςstachyasheads of grain

25ΚαὶKai αὐτὸςautoshe ἔλεγενelegen[Jesus] declared αὐτοῖςautois- , ΟὐδέποτεOudepote“ vvv ἀνέγνωτεanegnōteHave you never read τίtiwhat ἐποίησεepoiesehas done ΔαυὶδDauidDavid ὅτεhotewhen χρείανchreianin need ? ἔσχεeskhe- καὶkaiand ἐπείνασενepeinasenwere hungry αὐτὸςautoshe καὶkaiand οἱhoihis companions μετ’met’. . . αὐτοῦautou. . .
26πῶςpōs- εἰσῆλθενeisēlthenhe entered εἰςeis. . . τὸνtonthe οἶκονoikonhouse τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God ἐπὶepiDuring ἈβιαθὰρAbiatharof Abiathar , ἀρχιερέωςarchiereōsthe high priesthood καὶkaiand τοὺςtousthe ἄρτουςartousconsecrated bread τῆςtēs. . . προθέσεωςprotheseōs. . . , ἔφαγενephagenate οὓςhouswhich οὐκoukvvv ἔξεστιexestiis unlawful φαγεῖνphagein- εἰeionly μὴ. . . τοῖςtoisto his companions ἱερεῦσι,iereusipriests . ” καὶkaiAnd ἔδωκεedokegave [it] καὶkaiAnd τοῖςtoisto his companions σὺνsyn. . . αὐτῷautō. . . οὖσι;ousi. . .

28ὥστεhōsteTherefore , κύριόςkyriosLord ἐστινestinis hothe ΥἱὸςHuiosSon τοῦtou- ἀνθρώπουanthrōpouof Man καὶkaieven τοῦtouof the σαββάτουsabbatouSabbath . ”
