25πᾶςpasEveryone δὲde- ὁhowho ἀγωνιζόμενοςagōnizomenoscompetes in the games πάνταpanta. . . . ἐγκρατεύεταιenkrateuetaitrains with strict discipline ἐκεῖνοιekeinoiThey [do it] μὲνmen- οὖνoun- ἵναhinavvv φθαρτὸνphtharton[that is] perishable , στέφανονstephanona crown λάβωσινlabōsin[for] ἡμεῖςhēmeiswe [ do it for a crown ] δὲdebut ἄφθαρτονaphtharton[that is] imperishable .
