1ὈψὲOpseAfter δὲde- σαββάτωνsabbatōnof [the] week , τῇtē- ἐπιφωσκούσῃepiphōskousēat dawn εἰςeison μίανmian[the] first [day] σαββάτωνsabbatōnof [the] week , ἔλθῃelthēshould come ΜαρίαMariaMary ἡhēthe ΜαγδαληνὴMagdalēnēMagdalene καὶkaiand ἡhēthe ἄλληallēother ΜαρίαMariaMary θεωρῆσαιtheōrēsaito see τὸνtonthe τάφονtaphontomb .
2ΚαὶKaivvv ἰδοὺidouSuddenly σεισμὸςseismosearthquake , ἐγένετοegenetothere was μέγαςmegasa great ἄγγελοςangelosan angel γὰρgarfor ΚυρίουKyriouof [the] Lord καταβὰςkatabasdescended ἐξexfrom οὐρανοῦouranouheaven , προσελθὼνproselthōn- ἀπεκύλισεapekuliserolled away τὸνtonthe λίθονlithonstone , ἀπὸapoin τῆςtēsof the θύραςthyrasdoor . καὶkaiAnd after ἐκάθητοekathētosat ἐπάνωepanōon αὐτοῦautouit .
3ἦνēnwas δὲde- ἡhē- ἰδέαideaappearance αὐτοῦautouHis ὡςhōslike ἀστραπὴastrapēlightning , καὶkaiand τὸto- ἔνδυμαendymaclothes [were] αὐτοῦautouhis λευκὸνleukonwhite ὡσεὶhōseiabout χιώνchiōnsnow .
4ἀπὸapoin δὲde- τοῦtou- φόβουphoboufear αὐτοῦautouof him ἐσείσθησανeseisthēsantrembled οἱhoiThe τηροῦντεςtērountesguards καὶkaiand ἘγένοντοEgenontobecame ὡσεὶhōseiabout νεκροίnekroidead [men] .
5ἈποκριθεὶςApokritheisvvv δὲdeBut ὁhothe ἄγγελοςangelosangel εἰπὲeipesay ταῖςtaisto the γυναιξί·gunaixiwomen , ΜὴMē“ {Do} not φοβεῖσθεphobeisthebe afraid , ὑμεῖςhymeisyou οἶδαoidaI know γὰρgarfor ὅτιhotithat ἸησοῦνIēsounJesus , τὸνtonwho ἐσταυρωμένονestaurōmenonwas crucified . ζητεῖτεzēteiteare looking for
6οὐκouknot ἔστινestinHe is ὧδεhōdehere ; ἠγέρθηēgerthēHe has risen , γὰρgar- καθὼςkathōsjust as εἰπὲeipesay δεῦτεdeuteCome , ἴδετεidetesee τὸνtonthe τόπονtoponplace ὅπουhopouwhere ἔκειτοekeitoHe lay . ὁhothe ΚύριοςKyrios“ The Lord
7καὶkaiand ταχὺtachyquickly πορευθεῖσαιporeutheisaigo εἴπατεeipate[and] tell τοῖςtois- μαθηταῖςmathētaisdisciples αὐτοῦautouHis ὅτιhoti- , ἨγέρθηĒgerthē‘ He has risen ἀπὸapofrom τῶνtōnthe νεκρῶνnekrōndead καὶkaiand ἰδοὺidou- προάγειproageiis going ahead of ὑμᾶςhymasyou εἰςeisinto τὴνtēn- ΓαλιλαίανGalilaianGalilee . ἐκεῖekeiThere αὐτὸνautonHim . ’ ὄψεσθεopsestheyou will see ἰδοὺidouSee , εἶπονeiponI have told ὑμῖνhyminyou . ”
8ΚαὶKaiSo ἐξελθοῦσαιexelthousaithey hurried away ταχὺtachy. . . ἀπὸapofrom τοῦtouthe μνημείουmnēmeioutomb μετὰmetain φόβουphoboufear καὶkaiand χαρᾶςcharasjoy , μεγάληςmegalēsgreat ἔδραμονedramon[and] ran ἀπαγγεῖλαιapangeilaito tell τοῖςtois- μαθηταῖςmathētaisdisciples . αὐτοῦautouHis
9ὡςhōslike δὲdeBut ἐπορεύοντοeporeuontothey were headed , ἀπαγγεῖλαιapangeilaito tell τοῖςtois- μαθηταῖςmathētaisdisciples . αὐτοῦautouHis καὶkaiSuddenly ἰδοὺidou. . . ἸησοῦςIēsousJesus ἀπήντησενapentesenHe was met by αὐταῖςautaisthem λέγωνlegōn[and] said , ΧαίρετεChairete“ Greetings ! ” αἱhai- δὲde- προσελθοῦσαιproselthousaiThey came to [Him] , ἐκράτησανekratēsangrasped αὐτοῦautouHis τοὺςtous- πόδαςpodasfeet , καὶkaiand προσεκύνησανprosekynēsanworshiped αὐτῷautōHim .
10τότεtote- λέγειlegeisaid αὐταῖςautais- . ὁho- ἸησοῦςIēsousJesus ΜὴMē“ {Do} not φοβεῖσθεphobeisthebe afraid , ” ὑπάγετεhypagete“ Go ἀπαγγείλατεapangeilate[and] tell τοῖςtois- ἀδελφοῖςadelphoisbrothers μουmouMy ἵναhinato ἀπέλθωσινapelthōsingo εἰςeisto τὴνtēn- ΓαλιλαίανGalilaianGalilee . κἀκεῖkakeiThere μεmeMe . ” ὄψονταιopsontaithey will see
11ΠορευομένωνPoreuomenōnwere on their way δὲdeWhile αὐτῶνautōn[the women] ἰδούidou- , τινεςtinessome τῆςtēsof the κουστωδίαςkoustōdiasguards ἐλθόντεςelthonteswent εἰςeisinto τὴνtēnthe πόλινpolincity ἀπήγγειλανapēngeilan[and] reported τοῖςtoisto the ἀρχιερεῦσινarchiereusinchief priests ἅπανταhapantaall τὰtathat γενόμεναgenomenahad happened .
12καὶkaiAnd after συναχθέντεςsynachthentes[the chief priests] had met μετὰmetawith τῶνtōnthe πρεσβυτέρωνpresbyterōnelders συμβούλιόνsymboulion. . . , τεteand λαβόντεςlabontesformed a plan ἀργύριαargyriasum of money ἱκανὰhikanaa large ἔδωκανedōkanthey gave τοῖςtoisthe στρατιώταιςstratiōtaissoldiers λέγοντεςlegontes[and] instructed them :
13ΕἴπατεEipate“ You are to say ὅτιhoti- , ΟἱHoi- μαθηταὶmathētaidisciples αὐτοῦautou‘ His νυκτὸςnyktosby night ἐλθόντεςelthontescame ἔκλεψανeklepsan[and] stole αὐτὸνautonHim {away} ἡμῶνhēmōn{while} we κοιμωμένωνkoimōmenōnwere asleep . ’
14καὶkai- ἐὰνeanIf ἀκουσθῇakousthēreaches τοῦτοtoutothis [report] ἐπὶepi. . . τοῦtouthe ἡγεμόνοςhēgemonosgovernor , ἡμεῖςhēmeiswe πείσομενpeisomenwill satisfy ‹αὐτὸν›autonhim καὶkaiand ὑμᾶςhymasyou ἀμερίμνουςamerimnousout of trouble . ” ποιήσομενpoiēsomenkeep
15ΟἱHoithe [guards] δὲdeSo λαβόντεςlabontestook ‹τὰ›tathe ἀργύριαargyriamoney ἐποίησανepoiēsan[and] did ὡςhōsas ἐδιδάχθησανedidachthēsanthey were instructed . ΚαὶKaiAnd διεφημίσθηdiephēmisthēhas been circulated ὁho- λόγοςlogosaccount οὗτοςhoutosthis παρὰparaamong ἸουδαίοιςIoudaiois[the] Jews μέχριmechrito τῆςtēsthis σήμερονsēmeronvery
16ΟἱHoithe δὲdeMeanwhile , ἕνδεκαhendekaeleven μαθηταὶmathētaidisciples ἐπορεύθησανeporeuthēsanwent εἰςeisto τὴνtēn- ΓαλιλαίανGalilaianGalilee , εἰςeisto τὸtothe ὄροςorosmountain οὗhou. . . ἐτάξατοetaxatohad designated αὐτοῖςautois. . . . ὁho- ἸησοῦςIēsousJesus
17καὶkaiWhen ἰδόντεςidontesthey saw αὐτὸνautonHim , προσεκύνησανprosekynēsanthey worshiped Him , αὐτῷautōHim . ΟἱHoi- δὲdeSo ἐδίστασανedistasandoubted .
18ΚαὶKaiThen προσελθὼνproselthōncame to ὁho- ἸησοῦςIēsousJesus ἐλάλησενelalēsen[and] said αὐτοῖςautoisthem λέγωνlegōn. . . , ἘδόθηEdothēhas been given μοιmoito Me . πᾶσαpasa“ All ἐξουσίαexousiaauthority ἐνenin οὐρανῷouranōheaven καὶkaiand ἐπὶepion γῆςgēsearth
19πορευθέντεςporeuthentesgo [and] μαθητεύσατεmathēteusatemake disciples πάνταpantaof all τὰta- ἔθνηethnēnations , βαπτίζοντεςbaptizontesbaptizing αὐτοὺςautousthem εἰςeisin τὸtothe ὄνομαonomaname τοῦtouof the ΠατρὸςPatrosFather , καὶkaiand τοῦtouof the ΥἱοῦHuiouSon , καὶkaiand τοῦtouof the ἉγίουHagiouHoly ΠνεύματοςPneumatosSpirit ,
20διδάσκοντεςdidaskontes[and] teaching αὐτοὺςautousthem τηρεῖνtēreinto obey πάνταpantaall ὅσαhosathat ἐνετειλάμηνeneteilamēnI have commanded ὑμῖνhyminyou . καὶkaiAnd ἰδοὺidousurely ἐγὼegōI μεθ’meth’with ὑμῶνhymōnyou εἰμιeimiam πάσαςpasasalways τὰςtas. . . ἡμέραςhēmeras. . . , ἕωςheōseven to τῆςtēsthe συντελείαςsynteleiasend τοῦtouof the αἰῶνοςaiōnosage . ” ἀμὴνamēnTruly
