1ΚαὶKaiThen ἐδόθηedothēwas given μοιmoiI κάλαμοςkalamosa measuring rod ὅμοιοςhomoioslike ῥάβδῳrhabdōa staff λέγωνlegōn[and] was told , ἜγειρεEgeire“ Go καὶkaiand μέτρησονmetrēsonmeasure τὸνtonthe ναὸνnaontemple τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God καὶkaiand τὸtothe θυσιαστήριονthysiastērionaltar , καὶkaiand τοὺςtous[ count the number ] of προσκυνοῦνταςproskynountasworshipers ἐνenvvv αὐτῷautō[there] .
2καὶkai[But] τὴνtēnthe αὐλὴνaulēncourtyard τὴνtēn- ἔξωθενexōthenoutside τοῦtouthe ναοῦnaoutemple . ἔκβαλεekbaleexclude ἔξωexōoutside . καὶkai[But] μὴmē{Do} not αὐτὴνautēnit , μετρήσῃςmetrēsēsmeasure ὅτιhotibecause ἐδόθηedothēit has been given [over] τοῖςtoisto the ἔθνεσι,ethnesiGentiles καὶkaiand τὴνtēnthe πόλινpolincity τὴνtēn- ἁγίανhagianholy πατήσουσιpatesousithey will trample μῆναςmēnasmonths . τεσσαράκονταtessarakonta[where for] forty δύοdyo. . .
3καὶkai. . . δώσωdōsōI will empower τοῖςtois. . . δυσὶdysitwo μάρτυσίmartusiwitnesses . μουmoumy καὶkaiand προφητεύσουσινprophēteusousinthey will prophesy ἡμέραςhēmerasdays , χιλίαςchiliasfor 1,260 διακοσίαςdiakosias. . . ἑξήκονταhexēkonta. . . περιβεβλημένοιperibeblēmenoiclothed in σάκκουςsakkoussackcloth . ”
4ΟὗτοίHoutoiThese [witnesses] εἰσινeisinare αἱhaithe δύοdyotwo ἐλαῖαιelaiaiolive trees καὶkaiand αἱhaithe δύοdyotwo λυχνίαιlychniailampstands αἱhai- ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore τοῦtouthe ΚυρίουKyriouLord τῆςtēsof the γῆςgēsearth . ἑστῶσαι.estosaistanding
5καὶkai- εἴeiIf τιςtisanyone αὐτοὺςautousthem , θέλειtheleiwants ἀδικῆσαιadikēsaito harm πῦρpyrfire ἐκπορεύεταιekporeuetaiproceeds ἐκekfrom τοῦtou- στόματοςstomatosmouths αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand κατεσθίειkatesthieidevours τοὺςtous- ἐχθροὺςechthrousenemies . αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand εἴei- , τιςtisanyone who θελήσειtheleseiis willing , αὐτοὺςautousthem ἀδικῆσαιadikēsaito harm οὕτωhoutōso δεῖdeimust αὐτὸνauton- ἀποκτανθῆναιapoktanthēnaibe killed .
6οὗτοιhoutoiThese [witnesses] ἔχουσινechousinhave ἐξουσίανexousianpower τὸνtonthe οὐρανόνouranonsky κλεῖσαιkleisaito shut ἵναhinaso that μὴmēno ὑετὸςhyetosrain βρέχῃbrechēwill fall τὰςtasduring the ἡμέραςhēmerasdays τῆςtēsof προφητείαςprophēteiasprophecy , αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand ἐξουσίανexousianpower ἔχουσινechousin- ἐπὶepi- τῶνtōnthe ὑδάτωνhydatōnwaters στρέφεινstrepheinto turn αὐτὰauta- εἰςeisinto αἷμαhaimablood καὶkaiand πατάξαιpataxaito strike τὴνtēnthe γῆνgēnearth ἐνenwith πάσῃpasēevery kind of πληγῇplēgēplague ὁσάκιςhosakisas often as ἐὰνeanvvv θελήσωσι.thelesosithey wish .
7ΚαὶKai- ὅτανhotanWhen τελέσωσιtelesosi[the two witnesses] have finished τὴνtēn- μαρτυρίανmartyriantestimony , αὐτῶνautōntheir τὸtothe θηρίονthērionbeast τὸtothat ἀναβαῖνονanabainoncomes up ἐκekfrom τῆςtēsthe ἀβύσσουabyssouAbyss ποιήσειpoiēseiwill wage μετ’met’with αὐτῶνautōnthem , πόλεμονpolemonwar καὶkaiand νικήσειnikēseiwill overpower αὐτοὺςautous- καὶkaiand ἀποκτενεῖapokteneikill αὐτούςautousthem .
8καὶkai- τὸto- πτῶμαptōmabodies αὐτῶνautōnTheir ἐπὶepi[will lie] in τῆςtēsthe πλατείαςplateiasstreet τῆςtēsof πόλεωςpoleōscity — τῆςtēsthe μεγάληςmegalēsgreat ἥτιςhētis- καλεῖταιkaleitaicalled πνευματικῶςpneumatikōsfiguratively ΣόδομαSodomaSodom καὶkaiand ΑἴγυπτοςAigyptosEgypt — ὅπουhopouwhere καὶkaiand ὁho- ΚύριοςKyriosLord αὐτῶνautōntheir ἐσταυρώθηestaurōthēwas also crucified .
9καὶkai- βλέπουσινblepousinwill view ἐκekall τῶνtōn- λαῶνlaōnpeoples καὶkaiand φυλῶνphylōntribes καὶkaiand γλωσσῶνglōssōntongues καὶkaiand ἐθνῶνethnōnnations τὸto- πτῶμαptōmabodies αὐτῶνautōntheir ἡμέραςhēmerasdays τρεῖςtreisFor three καὶkaiand ἥμισυhēmisya half καὶkaiand τὰtavvv πτώματαptōmata[them] αὐτῶνautōnvvv οὐκoukvvv ἀφήσουσιaphesousiThey will not leave τεθῆναιtethēnaito be laid εἰςeisin μνῆμαmnēmaa tomb .
10καὶkaiAnd οἱhoithose who κατοικοῦντεςkatoikountesdwell ἐπὶepion τῆςtēsthe γῆςgēsearth χαίρουσινchairousinwill gloat ἐπ’ep’over αὐτοῖςautoisthem , καὶkaiand εὐφρανθήσονταιeuphranthesontaiwill celebrate καὶkaiand δῶραdōragifts , πέμψουσινpempsousinsend ἀλλήλοιςallēloisone another ὅτιhotibecause οὗτοιhoutoithese οἱhoi- δύοdyotwo προφῆταιprophētaiprophets ἐβασάνισανebasanisanhad tormented τοὺςtousvvv κατοικοῦνταςkatoikountasvvv ἐπὶepivvv τῆςtēsvvv γῆςgēs[them] .
11ΚαὶKai[But] μετὰmetaafter τὰςtasthe τρεῖςtreisthree ἡμέραςhēmerasdays , καὶkaiand ἥμισυhēmisya half πνεῦμαpneuma[the] breath ζωῆςzōēsof life ἐκekfrom τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod εἰσῆλθενeisēlthenentered εἰςeisto αὐτοὺςautousthem . ΚαὶKaiAnd ἔστησανestēsanthey stood ἐπὶepion τοὺςtous- πόδαςpodasfeet , αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand φόβοςphobosfear μέγαςmegasgreat ἐπέπεσενepepesenfell ἐπὶepiupon τοὺςtousthose who θεωροῦνταςtheōrountassaw αὐτούςautousthem .
12καὶkaiAnd ἑκοῦσαhekousaby its own will , φωνὴνphōnēnvoice μεγάληνmegalēngreat ἐκekfrom τοῦtou- οὐρανοῦouranouheaven λέγουσανlegousansay αὐτοῖςautois- , ἀνάβητεanabēteGo up ὧδεhōdehere . ” καὶkaiAnd ἀνέβησανanebēsanthey went up εἰςeisto τὸνton- οὐρανὸνouranonheaven ἐνenin τῇtēa νεφέλῃnephelēcloud καὶkai[as] ἐθεώρησανetheōrēsanwatched αὐτοὺςautousthem . οἱhoi- ἐχθροὶechthroienemies αὐτῶνautōntheir
13καὶkai[as] ἐνenin ἐκείνῃekeinēthat τῇtē- ἡμέρᾳhēmera[the] day ἐγένετοegenetothere was σεισμὸςseismosearthquake , μέγαςmegasa great καὶkaiand τὸtoa δέκατονdekatontenth τῆςtēsof the πόλεωςpoleōscity ἔπεσε,epesefell καὶkai- ἀπεκτάνθησανapektanthēsanwere killed ἐνenin τῷtōthe σεισμῷseismōquake , ὀνόματαonomatavvv ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnvvv χιλιάδεςchiliadesthousand ἑπτάheptaSeven καὶkai- οἱhoithe λοιποὶloipoirest ἔμφοβοιemphoboiterrified ἐγένοντοegenontowere καὶkaiand ἔδωκανedōkangave δόξανdoxanglory τῷtōto the ΘεῷTheōGod τοῦtouof οὐρανοῦouranouheaven .
14ἩHēThe ΟὐαὶOuaiwoe ἡhē- δευτέραdeuterasecond ἀπῆλθενapēlthenhas passed . ἡhēthe ΟὐαὶOuaiwoe ἡhē- τρίτηtritēthird ἰδοὺidouBehold , ἔρχεταιerchetaiis coming ταχύtachyshortly .
15ΚαὶKaiThen ὁhothe ἕβδομοςhebdomosseventh ἄγγελοςangelosangel ἐσάλπισε·esalpisesounded [his] trumpet , καὶkaiand ἐγένοντοegenonto- φωναὶphōnaivoices μεγάλαιmegalailoud ἐνenin τῷtō- οὐρανῷouranōheaven : λέγουσαιlegousai[and] told [us] ἘγένετοEgenetohas become ἡhē“ The βασιλείαbasileiakingdom τοῦtouof the κόσμουkosmouworld τοῦtouof the ΚυρίουKyriouLord ἡμῶνhēmōnof our καὶkaiand τοῦtouof ΧριστοῦChristouChrist , αὐτοῦautouHis καὶkaiand βασιλεύσειbasileuseiHe will reign εἰςeisvvv τοὺςtousvvv αἰῶναςaiōnasforever τῶνtōn[and] αἰώνωνaiōnōnever . ”
16ΚαὶKaiAnd οἱhoithe εἴκοσιeikositwenty-four τέσσαρεςtessares. . . πρεσβύτεροιpresbyteroielders οἱhoiwho ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore τοῦtou- θρόνουthronouthrone τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod οἱhoiwho κάθηνταιkathentaisitting [there] . ἐπὶepion τοὺςtous- θρόνουςthronousthrones αὐτῶνautōntheir ἔπεσανepesanfell ἐπὶepion τὰta- πρόσωπαprosōpafaces αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand προσεκύνησανprosekynēsanworshiped τῷtō- ΘεῷTheōGod ,
17λέγοντεςlegontessaying : ΕὐχαριστοῦμένEucharistoumen“ We give thanks σοιsoito You , ΚύριεKyrieO Lord ὁho- ΘεόςTheosGod ὁho- ΠαντοκράτωρPantokratōrAlmighty , ὁhothe [One who] ὢνōnis καὶkaiand ὁhowho ἦνēnwas , καὶkaiand ὁhowho ἐρχόμενοςerchomenoscomes ὅτιhotibecause εἴληφαςeilēphasYou have taken τὴνtēn- δύναμίνdynaminpower σουsouYour τὴνtēn- μεγάληνmegalēngreat καὶkaiand ἐβασίλευσαςebasileusashave begun to reign .
18καὶkai- τὰtaThe ἔθνηethnēnations ὠργίσθησανōrgisthēsanwere enraged , καὶkaiand ἦλθενēlthenhas come . ἡhē- ὀργήorgēwrath σουsouYour καὶkaiand ὁhoThe καιρὸςkairostime [has come] τῶνtōnthe ἐθνῶνethnōnnations κριθῆναιkrithēnaito judge καὶkaiand δοῦναιdounaivvv τὸνtonvvv μισθὸνmisthonto reward τοῖςtois- δούλοιςdouloisservants σουsouYour τοῖςtois- προφήταιςprophētaisprophets , καὶkaias well as τοῖςtoisthe ἁγίοιςhagioissaints τοῖςtoisthe φοβουμένοιςphoboumenoisfear τὸto- ὄνομάonomaname , σουsouYour τοῖςtoisthose who μικροῖςmikroissmall καὶkaiand τοῖςtoisthose who μεγάλοις,megaloisgreat καὶkaiand διαφθεῖραιdiaphtheiraito destroy τοὺςtousthose who διαφθείρονταςdiaphtheirontasdestroy τὴνtēnthe γῆνgēnearth . ”
19ΚαὶKaiThen ἠνοίγηēnoigēwas opened , ὁho- ναὸςnaostemple τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God ὁho- ἐνenin τῷtō- οὐρανῷouranōheaven καὶkaiand ὤφθηōphthēappeared ἡhēthe κιβωτὸςkibōtosark τῆςtēsof διαθήκηςdiathēkēscovenant ΚυρίουKyriouLord ἐνenin τῷtō- ναῷnaōtemple . αὐτοῦautouHis καὶkaiAnd ἐγένοντοegenontothere were ἀστραπαὶastrapaiflashes of lightning , καὶkaiand φωναὶphōnairumblings , καὶkaiand βρονταὶbrontaipeals of thunder , καὶkaiand σεισμὸςseismosan earthquake , καὶkaiand χάλαζαchalazahailstorm . μεγάληmegalēa great
