1ΚαὶKaiThen ὁhothe πέμπτοςpemptosfifth ἄγγελοςangelosangel ἐσάλπισε·esalpisesounded [his] trumpet , καὶkaiand εἶδονeidonI saw ἀστέραasteraa star ἐκekfrom τοῦtou- οὐρανοῦouranouheaven πεπτωκόταpeptōkotathat had fallen εἰςeisto τὴνtēn- γῆνgēnearth , καὶkaiand ἐδόθηedothēit was given αὐτῷautō- ἡhēthe κλεὶςkleiskey τοῦtouto the φρέατοςphreatospit τῆςtēsof the ἀβύσσουabyssouAbyss .
2καὶkai- ἤνοιξεēnoixeopened τὸtothe φρέαρphrearpit τῆςtēsof the ἀβύσσουabyssouAbyss , καὶkaiand ἀνέβηanebērose καπνὸςkapnossmoke ἐκekout of τοῦtou- φρέατοςphreatos[it] ὡςhōslike καπνὸςkapnos[the] smoke καμίνουkaminoufurnace , καιομένηςkaiomenēsof burning καὶkaiand ἐσκοτίσθηeskotisthēdarkened ὁhothe ἥλιοςhēliossun καὶkaiand ὁhothe ἀὴρaērair ἐκekby τοῦtouthe καπνοῦkapnousmoke τοῦtoufrom the φρέατοςphreatospit .
3ΚαὶKaiAnd ἐκekout of τοῦtouthe καπνοῦkapnousmoke , ἐξῆλθονexēlthondescended on ἀκρίδεςakrideslocusts εἰςeis. . . τὴνtēnthe γῆνgēnearth , καὶkaiand ἐδόθηedothēwere given αὐταῖς*autaisthey ἐξουσίαexousiapower ὡςhōslike ἔχουσινechousinvvv ἐξουσίανexousian[that of] οἱhoithe σκορπίοιskorpioiscorpions τῆςtēsof the γῆςgēsearth .
4καὶkai- ἐρρέθηerrethēwere told αὐταῖς*autaisThey ἵναhina- μὴmēnot ἀδικήσωσιadikesosito harm τὸνtonthe χόρτονchortongrass τῆςtēsof the γῆςgēsearth οὐδὲoude[or] πᾶνpanany χλωρὸνchlōronplant οὐδὲoude[or] πᾶνpan- δένδρονdendrontree , εἰeibut only μὴmē. . . τοὺςtousthose ἀνθρώπουςanthrōpous. . . οἵτινεςhoitineswho οὐκoukvvv ἔχουσι*echousidid not have τὴνtēnthe σφραγῖδαsphragidaseal τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God ἐπὶepion τῶνtōn[their] μετώπωνmetōpōnforeheads . αὐτῶνautōntheir
5καὶkaiand ἐδόθηedothēwere not given power αὐταῖς*autaisThey ἵναhina- μὴmēnot ἀποκτείνωσινapokteinōsinkill αὐτούςautousthem , ἀλλ’all’but only ἵναhinato βασανισθῶσιbasanisthosithey will be tormented μῆναςmēnasmonths , πέντεpente[for] five καὶkaiand ὁho- βασανισμὸςbasanismostorment αὐτῶνautōntheir ὡςhōs[was] like βασανισμὸςbasanismos- σκορπίουskorpiouof a scorpion . ὅτανhotanvvv παίσῃpaisēthe stinging ἄνθρωπονanthrōpon-
6καὶkai- ἐνenIn ταῖςtais- ἡμέραιςhēmeraisdays ἐκείναιςekeinaisthose ζητήσουσινzētēsousinwill seek οἱhoi- ἄνθρωποιanthrōpoimen τὸνton- θάνατονthanatondeath καὶkaiand οὐouvvv μὴmēvvv εὑρήσουσινheurēsousinwill not find αὐτόνautonit ; καὶkai- ἐπιθυμήσουσινepithymēsousinthey will long ἀποθανεῖνapothaneinto die , καὶkai[but] φεύξεταιpheuxetaihe will flee ἀπ’ap’. . . αὐτῶνautōnthem . ὁho- θάνατοςthanatosdeath
7καὶkai[but] τὰta- ὁμοιώματαhomoiōmatalooked τῶνtōnthe ἀκρίδωνakridōnlocusts ὅμοια*homoialike ἵπποιςhippoishorses ἡτοιμασμένοιςhētoimasmenoisprepared εἰςeisfor πόλεμονpolemonbattle , καὶkai- ἐπὶepion τὰςtas- κεφαλὰςkephalasheads , αὐτῶνautōn- ὡςhōslike στέφανοιstephanoicrowns ὅμοιοιhomoioilike χρυσίῳchrysiōgold καὶkai- τὰta- πρόσωπαprosōpafaces αὐτῶνautōn- ὡςhōslike πρόσωπαprosōpa[the] faces ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnof men .
8καὶkai- εἶχον*eichonThey had τρίχαςtrichashair ὡςhōslike τρίχαςtrichas[that] γυναικῶνgynaikōnof women , καὶkaiand οἱhoi- ὀδόντεςodontesteeth αὐτῶνautōn- ὡςhōslike [those] λεόντωνleontōnof lions . ἦσανēsan-
9καὶkaivvv εἶχονeichonThey also had θώρακαςthōrakasthoraxes ὡςhōslike θώρακαςthōrakasbreastplates σιδηροῦςsidērousof iron , καὶkaiand ἡhēthe φωνὴphōnēsound τῶνtōnof πτερύγωνpterygōnwings αὐτῶνautōntheir ὡςhōs[was] like φωνὴphōnē[the] roar ἁρμάτωνharmatōn[and] chariots ἵππωνhippōnhorses πολλῶνpollōnof many τρεχόντωνtrechontōnrushing εἰςeisinto πόλεμονpolemonbattle .
10καὶkai- ἔχουσινechousinThey had οὐρὰςourastails ὁμοίαςhomoiaslike σκορπίοιςskorpioisscorpions , καὶkai- κέντραkentrastingers καὶkaiwith ἐνenvvv ταῖςtaisvvv οὐραῖςourais[which] αὐτῶνautōnhad ἐξουσίανexousian[that of] ἔχουσι*echousidid not have τοῦtou- ἀδικῆσαιadikēsaito injure τοὺςtous- ἀνθρώπουςanthrōpouspeople μῆναςmēnasmonths . πέντεpentefor five
11ἔχουσι*echousidid not have βασιλέαbasileaa king , ἐπ’ep’. . . αὐτῶνautōn. . . τὸνtonthe ἄγγελονangelonangel τῆςtēsof the ἀβύσσουabyssouAbyss . ὄνομαonomaname αὐτῷautōHis ἙβραϊστίHebraistiin Hebrew ἈβαδδώνAbaddōn[is] Abaddon , ἐνenin δὲdealso τῇtē- ἙλληνικῇHellēnikēGreek ὄνομαonoma[it is] ἔχειecheivvv ἈπολλύωνApollyōnApollyon .
12ἡhēThe ΟὐαὶOuaiwoe ἩHē- μίαmiafirst ἀπῆλθενapēlthenhas passed . ἰδοὺidouBehold , ἔρχονταιerchontaiare coming ἔτιeti[are] still δύοdyotwo ΟὐαὶOuaiwoes μετὰmeta. . . ταῦταtauta. . . .
13ΚαὶKaiThen ὁhothe ἕκτοςhektossixth ἄγγελοςangelosangel ἐσάλπισε·esalpisesounded [his] trumpet , καὶkaiand ἤκουσαēkousaI heard φωνὴνphōnēnvoice μίανmiana ἐκekfrom τῶνtōnthe τεσσάρωνtessarōnfour κεράτωνkeratōnhorns τοῦtouof the θυσιαστηρίουthysiastērioualtar τοῦtou- χρυσοῦchrysougolden τοῦtou- ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod
14λέγοντοςlegontoswas speaking τῷtōto the ἕκτῳhektōsixth ἀγγέλῳangelōangel ὁho- ἔχωνechōnwith τὴνtēnthe σάλπιγγαsalpingatrumpet , ΛῦσονLyson“ Release τοὺςtousthe τέσσαραςtessarasfour ἀγγέλουςangelousangels τοὺςtouswho δεδεμένουςdedemenousare bound ἐπὶepiat τῷtōthe ποταμῷpotamōriver τῷtō- μεγάλῳmegalōgreat ΕὐφράτῃEuphratēEuphrates . ”
15καὶkai[So] ἐλύθησανelythēsanwere released οἱhoiwho τέσσαρεςtessaresfour ἄγγελοιangeloiangels οἱhoiwho ἡτοιμασμένοιhētoimasmenoihad been prepared εἰςeisfor τὴνtēn[this] ὥρανhōranhour καὶkaiand εἰςeisfor τὴνtēn[this] ἡμέρανhēmeranday καὶkaiand μῆναmēnamonth καὶkaiand ἐνιαυτόνeniautonyear ἵναhinato ἀποκτείνωσιapokteinosi[and] kill [Him] . τὸtoa τρίτονtritonthird τῶνtōn- ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnof mankind .
16καὶkaiAnd ὁhothe ἀριθμὸςarithmosnumber τῶνtōn- στρατευμάτωνstrateumatōntroops [was] τοῦtou- ἵππουhippouhorse , δύοdyotwo μυριάδεςmyriadesthousands μυριάδωνmyriadōn. . . ; ἤκουσαēkousaI heard τὸνton- ἀριθμὸνarithmonnumber . αὐτῶνautōntheir
17ΚαὶKai[Now] οὕτωςhoutōsthis : εἶδονeidonlooked like τοὺςtousriders ἵππουςhippoushorses ἐνenin τῇtē[my] ὁράσειhoraseivision καὶkai- τοὺςtousriders καθημένουςkathēmenous. . . ἐπ’ep’. . . αὐτῶνautōn. . . ἔχονταςechontas[The riders] had θώρακαςthōrakasbreastplates [the colors of] πυρίνουςpyrinousfire , καὶkai- ὑακινθίνουςhyakinthinoussapphire , καὶkaiand θειώδειςtheiōdeissulfur . καὶkai- αἱhaiThe κεφαλαὶkephalaiheads τῶνtōnof the ἵππωνhippōnhorses [were] ὡςhōslike κεφαλαὶkephalai[the] heads λεόντωνleontōnof lions , καὶkaiand ἐκekout of τῶνtōn- στομάτωνstomatōnmouths αὐτῶνautōntheir ἐκπορεύεταιekporeuetaiproceeded πῦρpyrfire , καὶkai- καπνὸςkapnossmoke , καὶkaiand θεῖονtheionsulfur .
18ἀπὸapoby τῶνtōn- τριῶνtriōnthree πληγῶνplēgōnplagues τούτωνtoutōn[the] ἀπεκτάνθησανapektanthēsanwas killed τὸtoA τρίτονtritonthird τῶνtōnof ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnmankind ἐκekof τοῦtou- πυρὸςpyrosfire , καὶkai- τοῦtou- καπνοῦkapnousmoke , καὶkaiand τοῦtou- θείουtheiousulfur τοῦtouthat ἐκπορευομένουekporeuomenouproceeded ἐκekfrom τῶνtōn- στομάτωνstomatōnmouths . αὐτῶνautōntheir
19ἡhēthe γὰρgarFor ἐξουσίαexousiapower τῶνtōnof the ἵππωνhippōnhorses ἐνenin τῷtō- στόματιstomatimouths αὐτῶνautōntheir ἐστίestiI have καὶkaiand ἐνenin ταῖςtais- οὐραῖςouraistails ; αὐτῶνautōntheir αἱhai- γὰρgarindeed , οὐραὶouraitails αὐτῶνautōntheir ὅμοιαιhomoiai[were] like ὄφεσινophesinsnakes , ἔχουσαιechousaihaving κεφαλάςkephalasheads καὶkai- ἐνenwith which αὐταῖςautais- ἀδικοῦσι.adikousito inflict harm .
20‹ΚαὶKaiNow οἱhoithe λοιποὶloipoirest τῶνtōnof ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnmankind οἳhoiwho οὐκoukvvv ἀπεκτάνθησανapektanthēsanwere not killed ἐνenby ταῖςtais- πληγαῖςplēgaisplagues ταύταιςtautaisthese οὐouvvv μετενόησανmetenoēsanthey did not repent ἐκekof τῶνtōn- ἔργωνergōnworks τῶνtōnthe χειρῶνcheirōnhands . αὐτῶνautōnof their ἵναhinavvv μὴmēvvv προσκυνήσωσιproskunesosirefused to worship τὰta- δαιμόνιαdaimoniademons καὶkaiand τὰta- εἴδωλαeidōlaidols of τὰta- χρυσᾶchrysagold , καὶkai- τὰta- ἀργυρᾶargyrasilver , καὶkai- τὰta- χαλκᾶchalkabronze , καὶkai- τὰta- λίθιναlithinastone , καὶkaiand τὰta- ξύλιναxylinawood , ἃhawhich οὔτεoute. . . βλέπεινblepeinsee δύναταιdynataican οὔτεoute[or] ἀκούεινakoueinhear οὔτεoute[or] περιπατεῖν›peripateinwalk .
21καὶkaiFurthermore , οὐouvvv μετενόησανmetenoēsanthey did not repent ἐκekof τῶνtōn- φόνωνphonōnmurder , αὐτῶνautōntheir οὔτεoute- ἐκek- τῶνtōn- φαρμακειῶνpharmakeionsorcery , αὐτῶνautōn- οὔτεoute- ἐκek- τῆςtēs- πορνείαςporneiassexual immorality , αὐτῶνautōn- οὔτεoute- ἐκek- τῶνtōn- κλεμμάτωνklemmatōntheft . αὐτῶνautōn-
