Revelation 8

1ΚαὶKai- ὅτεhotewhen ἤνοιξεēnoixeopened τὴνtēnthe σφραγῖδαsphragidaseal , τὴνtēn- ἑβδόμηνhebdomēnseventh ἐγένετοegenetothere was σιγὴsigēsilence ἐνenin τῷtō- οὐρανῷouranōheaven ὡςhōsfor about ἡμιώριονhēmiōrionhalf an hour .

2καὶkaiAnd εἶδονeidonI saw τοὺςtousthe ἑπτὰheptaseven ἀγγέλουςangelousangels οἳhoiwho ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod , ἑστήκασι,estekasiare standing καὶkaiand ἐδόθησανedothēsanwere given αὐτοῖςautoisthey ἑπτὰheptaseven σάλπιγγεςsalpingestrumpets .

3ΚαὶKaiThen ἄλλοςallosanother ἄγγελοςangelosangel , ἔλθῃelthēshould come ΚαὶKaiThen ἐστάθηestathēstood ἐπὶepiat τοῦtouthe θυσιαστηρίουthysiastērioualtar . ἔχωνechōnwho had λιβανωτὸνlibanōtoncenser , χρυσοῦνchrysouna golden καὶkaiand ἐδόθηedothēwas given αὐτῷautōHe θυμιάματαthymiamataincense πολλὰpollamuch ἵναhinato δώσῃdōsēHe may give ταῖςtaisalong with the προσευχαῖςproseuchaisprayers τῶνtōnthe ἁγίωνhagiōnsaints , πάντωνpantōnof all ἐπὶepion τὸtothe θυσιαστήριονthysiastērionaltar τὸto- χρυσοῦνchrysoungolden τὸto- ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore τοῦtouthe θρόνουthronouthrone .

4καὶkaiAnd ἀνέβηanebērose up ὁhothe καπνὸςkapnossmoke τῶνtōnof the θυμιαμάτωνthymiamatōnincense , ταῖςtaistogether with the προσευχαῖςproseuchaisprayers τῶνtōnof the ἁγίωνhagiōnsaints , ἐκekfrom χειρὸςcheiros[the] hand τοῦtouof the ἀγγέλουangelouangel . ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod

5ΚαὶKaiThen εἴληφενeilēphentook ὁhothe ἄγγελοςangelosangel τὸνtonthe λιβανωτόνlibanōtoncenser , καὶkai- ἐγέμισενegemisenfilled αὐτὸνautonit ἐκekwith τοῦtou- πυρὸςpyrosfire τοῦtoufrom the θυσιαστηρίουthysiastērioualtar , καὶkaiand ἔβαλενebalenhurled [it] εἰςeisto τὴνtēnthe γῆνgēnearth ; καὶkaiand ἐγένοντοegenontothere were βρονταὶbrontaipeals of thunder , καὶkaiand φωναὶphōnairumblings , καὶkaiand ἀστραπαὶastrapaiflashes of lightning , καὶkaiand σεισμόςseismosan earthquake .

6ΚαὶKaiAnd οἱhoithe ἑπτὰheptaseven ἄγγελοιangeloiangels οἱhoi- ἔχοντεςechonteswith τὰςtasthe ἑπτὰheptaseven σάλπιγγαςsalpingastrumpets ἡτοίμασανhētoimasanprepared αὑτοὺςhautous- ἵναhinato σαλπίσωσι.salpisosisound [them] .

7ΚαὶKaiThen ὁhothe πρῶτοςprōtosfirst [angel] ἐσάλπισε,esalpisesounded [his] trumpet , καὶkaiand ἐγένετοegeneto- χάλαζαchalazahail καὶkaiand πῦρpyrfire μεμιγμέναmemigmenamixed ἐνenwith αἵματιhaimatiblood καὶkai- ἐβλήθηeblēthēwere hurled down εἰςeisupon τὴνtēnthe γῆνgēnearth . καὶkai- τὸtoA τρίτονtritonthird τῆςtēsof γῆςgēsthe earth κατεκάηkatekaēwas burned up , καὶkaialong with τὸtoa τρίτονtritonthird τῶνtōnof the δένδρωνdendrōntrees κατεκάηkatekaē- καὶkaiand πᾶςpasall χόρτοςchortosgrass χλωρὸςchlōros[the] green κατεκάηkatekaē- .

8ΚαὶKaiThen ὁhothe δεύτεροςdeuterossecond ἄγγελοςangelosangel ἐσάλπισε,esalpisesounded [his] trumpet , καὶkaiand ὡςhōs[something] like ὄροςorosmountain μέγαmegaa great πυρὶpyriwith fire καιόμενονkaiomenonburning ἐβλήθηeblēthēwas thrown εἰςeisinto τὴνtēnthe θάλασσανthalassansea . καὶkai- ἐγένετοegenetoturned to τὸtoa τρίτονtritonthird τῆςtēsof the θαλάσσηςthalassēssea αἷμαhaimablood ,

9καὶkai- ἀπέθανεapethaneshe is not dead τὸtoa τρίτονtritonthird τῶνtōnof the κτισμάτωνktismatōncreatures τῶνtōn- ἐνenin τῇtēthe θαλάσσῃthalassēsea τὰtavvv ἔχονταechontavvv ψυχάςpsychasliving καὶkai- τὸtoa τρίτονtritonthird τῶνtōnof the πλοίωνploiōnships διεφθάρη.diephtharewere destroyed .

10ΚαὶKaiThen ὁhothe τρίτοςtritosthird ἄγγελοςangelosangel ἐσάλπισε,esalpisesounded [his] trumpet , καὶkaiand ἔπεσενepesenfell ἐκekfrom τοῦtou- οὐρανοῦouranouheaven ἀστὴρastērstar μέγαςmegasa great καιόμενοςkaiomenosburning ὡςhōslike λαμπάςlampasa torch καὶkaiand ἔπεσενepesen[landed] ἐπὶepion τὸtoa τρίτονtritonthird τῶνtōnof the ποταμῶνpotamōnrivers καὶkaiand ἐπὶepion τὰςtasthe πηγὰςpēgassprings τῶνtōnof ὑδάτωνhydatōnwater .

11καὶkai- τὸtoThe ὄνομαonomaname τοῦtouof the ἀστέροςasterosstar λέγεταιlegetai[is] ὉHO- ἌψινθοςApsinthosWormwood . καὶkai- ἐγένετοegenetoturned τὸtoA τρίτονtritonthird τῶνtōnof the ὑδάτωνhydatōnwaters εἰςeis. . . ἄψινθονapsinthon[bitter] like wormwood oil , καὶkaiand πολλοὶpolloimany τῶνtōn- ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnpeople ἀπέθανονapethanondied ἐκekfrom τῶνtōnthe ὑδάτωνhydatōnwaters . ὅτιhoti- ἐπικράνθησανepikranthēsanbitter

12ΚαὶKaiThen ὁhothe τέταρτοςtetartosfourth ἄγγελοςangelosangel ἐσάλπισε,esalpisesounded [his] trumpet , καὶkaiand ἐπλήγηeplēgēwere struck . τὸtoA τρίτονtritonthird τοῦtouof the ἡλίουhēliousun καὶkaiand τὸto- τρίτονtriton- τῆςtēs- σελήνηςselēnēsmoon καὶkaiand τὸto- τρίτονtriton- τῶνtōn- ἀστέρωνasterōnstars ἵναhina- σκοτισθῇskotisthēwere darkened , τὸtoa τρίτονtritonthird αὐτῶνautōnof [the stars] καὶkai- τὸtoa τρίτονtritonthird αὐτῆςautēsof μὴmēvvv φάνῃphanēwas without light , ἡhē[a third of] the ἡμέραhēmeraday καὶkaiand ἡhē[a third of] the νὺξnyxnight ὁμοίωςhomoiōsas well .

13ΚαὶKaiAnd εἶδονeidonas I observed , καὶkai- ἤκουσαēkousaI heard ἑνὸςhenosan ἀετοῦaetoueagle πετομένουpetomenouflying ἐνenvvv μεσουρανήματιmesouranēmatioverhead , λέγοντοςlegontoscalling φωνῇphōnēin a loud voice , μεγάλῃmegalēvvv ΟὐαὶOuai“ Woe ! ΟὐαὶOuai“ Woe ! ΟὐαὶOuai“ Woe ! τοὺςtousto those who κατοικοῦνταςkatoikountasdwell ἐπὶepion τῆςtēsthe γῆςgēsearth , ἐκekbecause of τῶνtōnthe λοιπῶνloipōnremaining φωνῶνphōnōnblasts τῆςtēsthe σάλπιγγοςsalpingostrumpet τῶνtōnthe τριῶνtriōnthree ἀγγέλωνangelōnangels ! ” τῶνtōnby the μελλόντωνmellontōnabout σαλπίζεινsalpizeinto be sounded
