1ἈποκάλυψιςApokalypsis[ This is the ] revelation ἸησοῦIēsouof Jesus ΧριστοῦChristouChrist , ἣνhēnwhich ἔδωκενedōkengave αὐτῷautōHim ho- ΘεόςTheosGod δεῖξαιdeixaito show τοῖςtois- δούλοιςdouloisservants αὐτοῦautouHis hawhat δεῖdeimust γενέσθαιgenesthaicome to pass . ἐνenvvv τάχειtacheisoon καὶkai- ἐσήμανενesēmanenHe made it known ἀποστείλαςaposteilassending διὰdiaby τοῦtou- ἀγγέλουangelouangel αὐτοῦautouHis τῷto δούλῳdoulōservant αὐτοῦautouHis ἸωάννῃIōannēJohn ,
2ὃςhoswho ἐμαρτύρησεemartureseshowed His approval τὸνton[This is] the λόγονlogonword τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God καὶkaiand τὴνtēnthe μαρτυρίανmartyriantestimony ἸησοῦIēsouof Jesus ΧριστοῦChristouChrist . ὅσαhosaeverything εἶδε.eidesaw
3ΜακάριοςMakariosBlessed [is] hothe [one who] ἀναγινώσκωνanaginōskōnreads aloud καὶkaiand [ blessed are ] οἱhoithose who ἀκούοντεςakouonteshear τοὺςtousthe λόγουςlogouswords τῆςtēsof [this] προφητείαςprophēteiasprophecy , καὶkaiand [ blessed are ] τηροῦντεςtērountesobey τὰtawhat ἐνenin αὐτῇautēit , γεγραμμέναgegrammenais written hothe γὰρgarbecause καιρὸςkairostime [is] ἐγγύςengysnear .
4ἸωάννηςIōannēsJohn , ΤαῖςTaisTo the ἑπτὰheptaseven ἐκκλησίαιςekklēsiaischurches ταῖςtais- ἐνenin τῇ- ἈσίᾳAsia[the province of] Asia : ΧάριςCharisGrace ὑμῖνhyminto you καὶkaiand εἰρήνηeirēnēpeace ἀπὸapofrom ΘεοῦTheouof God hothe [one who] ὢνōnis καὶkaiand ho- ἦνēnwas καὶkaiand ho- ἐρχόμενοςerchomenosis to come , καὶkaiand ἀπὸapofrom τῶνtōnthe ἑπτὰheptaseven ΠνευμάτωνPneumatōnSpirits ha- ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore τοῦtou- θρόνουthronouthrone , αὐτοῦautouHis
5καὶkaiand ἀπὸapofrom ἸησοῦIēsouJesus ΧριστοῦChristouChrist , hothe μάρτυςmartyswitness , hothe πιστόςpistosfaithful ho- πρωτότοκοςprōtotokosfirstborn τῶνtōnfrom the νεκρῶνnekrōndead , καὶkaiand hothe ἄρχωνarchōnruler τῶνtōnof the βασιλέωνbasileōnkings τῆςtēsof the γῆςgēsearth . ΤῷTo Him who ἀγαπῶντιagapōntiloves ἡμᾶςhēmasus καὶkaiand λούσαντιlousantihas released ἡμᾶςhēmasus ἀπὸapofrom τῶνtōnfrom the ἁμαρτιῶνhamartiōnsins ἡμῶνhēmōnour ἐνenby τῷ- αἵματιhaimatiblood , αὐτοῦautouHis
6καὶkai[who] ἐποίησενepoiēsenhas made ἡμᾶςhēmasus {to be} βασιλείανbasileiana kingdom , ἱερεῖςhiereispriests τῷto ΘεῷTheōGod καὶkaiand ΠατρὶPatriFather — αὐτοῦautouHis αὐτῷautōto Him [be] the δόξαdoxaglory καὶkaiand τὸto- κράτοςkratospower εἰςeisvvv τοὺςtousvvv αἰῶναςaiōnasforever τῶνtōn[and] αἰώνωνaiōnōnever ! ἀμήνamēnAmen .
7ἸδοὺIdouBehold , ἔρχεταιerchetaiHe is coming μετὰmetawith τῶνtōnthe νεφελῶνnephelōnclouds , καὶkaiand ὄψεταιopsetaiwill see αὐτὸνautonHim — πᾶςpasevery ὀφθαλμὸςophthalmoseye καὶkaiand οἵτινεςhoitinesthose who αὐτὸνautonHim . ἐξεκέντησανexekentēsanpierced καὶkaiAnd κόψονταιkopsontaiwill mourn ἐπ’ep’because of αὐτὸνautonHim . πᾶσαιpasaiall αἱhaithe φυλαὶphylaitribes τῆςtēsof the γῆςgēsearth ναίnaiSo shall it be ! ἀμήνamēnAmen .
8ἘγώEgō“ I εἰμιeimiam τὸtothe ha- καὶkaiand ΤῷTo Him who hothe λέγειlegeisays ΚύριοςKyrios[the] Lord ho- ΘεόςTheosGod , howho ὢνōnis καὶkaiand ho- ἦνēnwas καὶkaiand ho- ἐρχόμενοςerchomenosis to come — hothe ΠαντοκράτωρPantokratōrAlmighty .
9ἘγὼEgōI , ἸωάννηςIōannēsJohn , ho- ἀδελφὸςadelphosbrother ὑμῶνhymōnyour καὶkaiand συγκοινωνὸςsugkoinonosto share ἐνenin τῇthe θλίψειthlipseitribulation καὶkaiand βασιλείᾳbasileiakingdom καὶkaiand ὑπομονῇhypomonēperseverance ἐνen[that are] in ἸησοῦIēsouJesus , ΧριστῷChristōChrist , ἐγενόμηνegenomēnwas ἐνenon τῇthe νήσῳnēsōisland τῇ- καλουμένῃkaloumenēof ΠάτμῳPatmōPatmos διὰdiabecause of τὸνtonthe λόγονlogonword τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God καὶkaiand διὰdiabecause of τὴνtēn[my] μαρτυρίανmartyriantestimony ἸησοῦIēsouabout Jesus . ΧριστοῦChristouChrist ,
10ἐγενόμηνegenomēnwas ἐνenon ΠνεύματιPneumati[the] Spirit , ἐνenin τῇthe κυριακῇkyriakēLord’s ἡμέρᾳhēmeraday καὶkaiand ἤκουσαēkousaI heard φωνὴνphōnēnvoice ὀπίσωopisōbehind μουmoume μεγάληνmegalēna loud ὡςhōslike σάλπιγγοςsalpingosa trumpet ,
11λεγούσηςlegousēssaying , Howhat βλέπειςblepeisyou see γράψονgrapson“ Write εἰςeison βιβλίονbibliona scroll καὶkaiand πέμψονpempsonsend [it] ταῖςtaisto the ἑπτὰheptaseven ἐκκλησίαιςekklēsiaischurches : εἰςeisto ἜφεσονEphesonEphesus , καὶkai- εἰςeis- ΣμύρνανSmyrnanSmyrna , καὶkai- εἰςeis- ΠέργαμονPergamonPergamum , καὶkai- εἰςeis- ΘυάτειραThyateiraThyatira , καὶkai- εἰςeis- ΣάρδειςSardeisSardis , καὶkai- εἰςeis- ΦιλαδέλφειανPhiladelpheianPhiladelphia , καὶkaiand εἰςeis- ΛαοδίκειανLaodikeianLaodicea . ”
12ΚαὶKaiThen ἐκεῖekeithere , ἐπέστρεψαepestrepsaI turned βλέπεινblepeinto see τὴνtēnthe φωνὴνphōnēnvoice ἥτιςhētisthat ἐλάλειelaleiwas speaking μετ’met’with ἐμοῦemoume . καὶkaiAnd ἐπιστρέψαςepistrepsashaving turned , εἶδονeidonI saw ἑπτὰheptaseven λυχνίαςlychniaslampstands , χρυσᾶςchrysasgolden
13καὶkaiand ἐνenvvv μέσῳmesōamong τῶνtōnthe ἑπτὰheptaseven λυχνιῶνlychniōnlampstands ὅμοιονhomoion[was One] like υἱῷhuiōson ἀνθρώπουanthrōpouof Man , ἐνδεδυμένονendedymenondressed in a long robe ποδήρηpodērē. . . , καὶkai- περιεζωσμένονperiezōsmenonaround πρὸςpros. . . τοῖςtois[His] μαστοῖςmastoischest . ζώνηνzōnēnsash χρυσῆν·khrusenwith a golden
14- δὲde- κεφαλὴkephalēhead αὐτοῦautouof His καὶkai- αἱhaiThe τρίχεςtricheshair λευκαὶleukai[was] white ὡςhōslike ἔριονerionwool , λευκόνleukonas white ὡςhōsas χιώνchiōnsnow , καὶkaiand οἱhoi- ὀφθαλμοὶophthalmoieyes αὐτοῦautouHis ὡςhōs[were] like φλὸξphloxa blazing πυρόςpyrosfire .
15καὶkai- οἱhoi- πόδεςpodesfeet αὐτοῦautouHis ὅμοιοιhomoioi[were] like χαλκολιβάνῳchalkolibanōpolished bronze ὡςhōs- ἐνenin καμίνῳkaminōa furnace , πεπυρωμένοι,pepuromenoirefined καὶkaiand - φωνὴphōnēvoice αὐτοῦautouHis ὡςhōs[was] like φωνὴphōnē[the] roar ὑδάτωνhydatōnwaters . πολλῶνpollōnof many
16καὶkai- ἔχωνechōnHe held ἐνenin τῇ- δεξιᾷdexiaright χειρὶcheirihand αὐτοῦautouHis ἀστέραςasterasstars , ἑπτάheptaseven καὶkaiand ἐκekfrom τοῦtou- στόματοςstomatosmouth . αὐτοῦautouHis ῥομφαίαrhomphaiasword δίστομοςdistomosdouble-edged ὀξεῖαoxeiaa sharp ἐκπορευομένηekporeuomenēcame καὶkaiand - ὄψιςopsisface αὐτοῦautouHis ὡςhōs[was] like hothe ἥλιοςhēliossun φαίνειphaineishining ἐνenat τῇ- δυνάμειdynameibrightest . αὐτοῦautouits
17ΚαὶKai- ὅτεhoteWhen εἶδονeidonI saw αὐτόνautonHim , ἔπεσαepesaI fell πρὸςprosat τοὺςtous- πόδαςpodasfeet αὐτοῦautouHis ὡςhōslike νεκρόςnekrosa dead [man] . καὶkai[But] ἔθηκεethekelaid τὴνtēn- δεξιὰνdexianright hand αὐτοῦautouHis χεῖραcheirahand , ἐπ’ep’on ἐμὲememe λέγωνlegōn[and] said , Μὴ“ {Do} not φοβοῦphoboube afraid . ἐγώegōI εἰμιeimiam hothe πρῶτοςprōtosFirst καὶkaiand hothe ἔσχατοςeschatosLast ,
18καὶkai- hothe ΖῶνZōnLiving [One] . καὶkai- ἐγενόμηνegenomēnI was νεκρὸςnekrosdead , καὶkaiand ἰδοὺidoubehold , ζῶνzōnalive εἰμιeimi[now] I am εἰςeisvvv τοὺςtousvvv αἰῶναςaiōnasforever τῶνtōn[and] αἰώνωνaiōnōnever ! καὶkaiAnd ἔχωechōI hold τὰςtasthe κλεῖςkleiskeys τοῦtouof θανάτουthanatouDeath καὶkaiand τοῦtouof ᾅδουhadouHades .
19ΓράψονGrapsonwrite down οὖνounTherefore hathe things εἶδεςeidesyou have seen , καὶkaiand hathe things that εἰσιeisiare καὶkaiand hathe things that μέλλειmelleiwill γίνεσθαιginesthaibe μετὰmetaafter ταῦταtautathis .
20τὸto[This is] the μυστήριονmystērionmystery τῶνtōnof the ἑπτὰheptaseven ἀστέρωνasterōnstars ὢνōnis εἶδεςeidesyou have seen , ἐπὶepiin τῆςtēs- δεξιᾶςdexiasright hand μουmouMy καὶkaiand τὰςtasof the ἑπτὰheptaseven λυχνίαςlychniaslampstands : τὰςtas- χρυσᾶςchrysasgolden οἱhoiThe ἑπτὰheptaseven ἀστέρεςasteresstars ἄγγελοιangeloi[the] angels τῶνtōnof the ἑπτὰheptaseven ἐκκλησιῶνekklēsiōnchurches , εἰσι,eisiare καὶkaiand αἱhaithe λυχνίαιlychniailampstands αἱhai- ἑπτὰheptaseven ἑπτὰheptaseven ἐκκλησίαιekklēsiaichurches .
