3ΧάρινCharinthank ἔχωechōI τῷtō- ΘεῷTheōGod , ᾧhōwhom λατρεύωlatreuōI serve ἀπὸapoas did προγόνωνprogonōn[my] forefathers , ἐνenwith καθαρᾷkatharaa clear συνειδήσειsyneidēseiconscience ὡςhōsas ἀδιάλειπτονadialeiptonconstantly ἔχωechōI τὴνtēn- περὶperi- σοῦsouyou μνείανmneianremember ἐνenin ταῖςtais- δεήσεσίdeesesipraying . μουmoumy νυκτὸςnyktosnight καὶkaiand ἡμέραςhēmerasday
4ἐπιποθῶνepipothōnI long σεseyou ἰδεῖνideinto see μεμνημένοςmemnēmenosRecalling σουsouyour τῶνtōn- δακρύωνdakryōntears , ἵναhinaso that χαρᾶςcharaswith joy . πληρωθῶplērōthōI may be filled
5ὑπόμνησινhypomnēsinI am reminded λαμβάνωνlambanōnreceives τῆςtēsof ἐνen- σοὶsoiyour ἀνυποκρίτουanypokritousincere πίστεωςpisteōsfaith , ἥτιςhētiswhich ἐνῴκησεenokesedwelt πρῶτονprōtonfirst ἐνenin τῇtē- μάμμῃmammēgrandmother σουsouyour ΛωΐδιLōidiLois καὶkaiand τῇtē- μητρίmētrimother σουsouyour ΕὐνίκῃEunikēEunice , πέπεισμαιpepeismaiI am convinced δὲdeand ὅτιhoti- καὶkaias well . ἣνhēnthis σοίsoiyou
6Δι’Di’For ἣνhēnthis αἰτίανaitianreason ἀναμιμνῄσκωanamimnēskōI remind σεseyou ἀναζωπυρεῖνanazōpyreinto fan into flame τὸtothe χάρισμαcharismagift τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God , ὅhowhich ἐστινestinis ἐνenin σοὶsoiyou διὰdiathrough τῆςtēsthe ἐπιθέσεωςepitheseōslaying on τῶνtōnof χειρῶνcheirōnhands . μουmoumy
7οὐou{has} not γὰρgarFor ἔδωκενedōkengiven ἡμῖνhēminus ὁho- ΘεὸςTheosGod πνεῦμαpneumaa spirit δειλίαςdeiliasof fear , ἀλλὰallabut δυνάμεωςdynameōsof power , καὶkai- ἀγάπηςagapēslove , καὶkaiand σωφρονισμοῦsōphronismouself-control .
8ΜὴMēvvv οὖνounSo ἐπαισχυνθῇςepaischynthēsdo not be ashamed of τὸtothe μαρτύριονmartyriontestimony τοῦtouof ΚυρίουKyriouLord , ἡμῶνhēmōnour μηδὲmēde[or] ἐμὲemeof me , τὸνton- δέσμιονdesmionprisoner . αὐτοῦautouHis ἀλλὰallaInstead , συγκακοπάθησονsugkakopathesonJoin me in suffering , τῷtōfor the εὐαγγελίῳeuangeliōgospel κατὰkataby δύναμινdynamin[the] power ΘεοῦTheouof God .
9τοῦtou[He] σώσαντοςsōsantoshas saved ἡμᾶςhēmasus καὶkaiand καλέσαντοςkalesantoscalled [us] κλήσειklēseicalling , ἁγίᾳhagiato a holy οὐounot κατὰkatabecause of τὰta- ἔργαergaworks , ἡμῶνhēmōnour ἀλλὰallabut κατ’kat’according to ἰδίανidianHis own πρόθεσινprothesinpurpose καὶkaiand χάρινcharin[by the] grace τὴνtēn- δοθεῖσανdotheisanHe granted ἡμῖνhēminus ἐνenin ΧριστῷChristōChrist ἸησοῦIēsouJesus πρὸprobefore χρόνωνchronōntime αἰωνίωνaiōniōnbegan .
10φανερωθεῖσανphanerōtheisanHe has revealed [this grace] δὲdeAnd νῦνnynnow διὰdiathrough τῆςtēsthe ἐπιφανείαςepiphaneiasappearing τοῦtou- ΣωτῆροςSōtērosSavior , ἡμῶνhēmōnof our ἸησοῦIēsouJesus , ΧριστοῦChristouChrist καταργήσαντοςkatargēsantos[who] has abolished μὲνmen- τὸνton- θάνατονthanatondeath φωτίσαντοςphōtisantosilluminated the way to δὲdeand ζωὴνzōēnlife καὶkaiand ἀφθαρσίανaphtharsianimmortality διὰdiathrough τοῦtouthe εὐαγγελίουeuangeliougospel ,
11εἰςeisto ὃhowhich ἐτέθηνetethēnwas appointed ἐγὼegōI κήρυξkēryx[as] a preacher , καὶkai- ἀπόστολοςapostolosan apostle , καὶkaiand διδάσκαλοςdidaskalosa teacher . ἐθνῶνethnōnGentiles
12Δι’Di’For ἣνhēnthis αἰτίανaitianreason , καὶkaieven [though] ταῦταtauta[as I do] , πάσχωpaschōI suffer ἀλλ’all’- οὐκoukvvv ἐπαισχύνομαιepaischynomaiI am not ashamed ; οἶδαoidaI know γὰρgarfor ᾧhōwhom πεπίστευκαpepisteukaI have believed , καὶkaiand πέπεισμαιpepeismaiI am convinced ὅτιhotithat δυνατόςdynatosable ἐστίestiI have τὴνtēnwhat παραθήκηνparathēkēnI have entrusted [to Him] μουmouvvv φυλάξαιphylaxaito guard εἰςeisfor ἐκείνηνekeinēnthat τὴνtēn- ἡμέρανhēmeranday .
13ὙποτύπωσινHypotypōsin[to the] pattern ἔχεecheHold on ὑγιαινόντωνhygiainontōnof sound λόγωνlogōnteaching ὧνhōn- παρ’par’from ἐμοῦemoume , ἤκουσαςēkousasyou have heard ἐνenwith πίστειpistei[the] faith καὶkaiand ἀγάπῃagapēlove τῇtēthat [are] ἐνenin ΧριστῷChristōChrist ἸησοῦIēsouJesus .
14τὴνtēnthe καλὴνkalēntreasure παραθήκηνparathēkēnentrusted [to you] , φύλαξονphylaxonGuard διὰdiawith the help of ΠνεύματοςPneumatosSpirit ἉγίουHagiou[the] Holy τοῦtouwho ἐνοικοῦντοςenoikountosdwells ἐνenin ἡμῖνhēminus .
15ΟἶδαςOidasYou know τοῦτοtouto- ὅτιhotithat ἀπεστράφησάνapestraphēsanhas deserted μεmeme , πάντεςpanteseveryone οἱhoi- ἐνenin τῇtē- ἈσίᾳAsia[the Province of] Asia ὧνhōnincluding ἐστίestiI have ΦύγελοςPhygelosPhygelus καὶkaiand ἙρμογένηςHermogenēsHermogenes .
16ΔῴηDōēgrant ἔλεοςeleosmercy ὁho{May} the ΚύριοςKyriosLord τῷtōto the ὈνησιφόρουOnēsiphorouof Onesiphorus , οἴκῳoikōhousehold ὅτιhotibecause πολλάκιςpollakis. . . μεmeme ἀνέψυξεanepsuxehe has often refreshed καὶkaiand τὴνtēn- ἅλυσίνhalysinchains . μουmoumy οὐκoukvvv ἐπαισχύνθηepaischynthēwas unashamed of
17ἀλλὰallaIndeed , γενόμενοςgenomenoswhen he arrived ἐνenin ῬώμῃRhōmēRome , σπουδαιότερονspoudaioteron[so] ἐζήτησέezetesehe searched diligently μεmeme . καὶkai[until] εὕρῃheurēfinds [them]
18ΔῴηDōēgrant αὐτῷautō[Onesiphorus] ὁho{May} the ΚύριοςKyriosLord εὑρεῖνheurein- ἔλεοςeleosmercy παρὰparavvv ΚυρίουKyriou[His] ἐνenon ἐκείνῃekeinēthat τῇtē- ἡμέρᾳhēmeraday . καὶkai- ὅσαhosahow much ἐνenin ἘφέσῳEphesōEphesus . διηκόνησε,diekonesehe ministered [to me] βέλτιονbeltionvery well σὺsyYou γινώσκειςginōskeisknow
