9Μὴ{Do} not κτήσησθεktēsēsthecarry χρυσὸνchryson[any] gold μηδὲmēdeor ἄργυρονargyronsilver μηδὲmēdeor χαλκὸνchalkoncopper εἰςeisin τὰςtas- ζώναςzōnasbelts . ὑμῶνhymōnyour
10μὴ[Take] no πήρανpēranbag εἰςeisfor ὁδὸνhodon[the] road , μηδὲmēdeor δύοdyosecond χιτῶναςchitōnastunic , μηδὲmēdeor ὑποδήματαhypodēmatasandals , μηδὲmēdeor ῥάβδονrhabdonstaff ; ἄξιοςaxios[is] worthy γὰρgarfor ἐστινestinis hothe ἐργάτηςergatēsworker τῆςtēsof τροφῆςtrophēsprovisions . αὐτοῦautouhis

13καὶkaiand ἐὰνeanif μὲνmen- the the οἰκίαoikiahome ἀξίαaxiaworthy , ἐλέθτωelethtorest ēis εἰρήνηeirēnēpeace ὑμῶνhymōn{let} your ἐπ’ep’on αὐτήνautēnit ; ἐὰνeanif δὲdebut μὴnot ēit is ἀξίαaxia- , - εἰρήνηeirēnēpeace ὑμῶνhymōn{let} your πρὸςprosto ὑμᾶςhymasyou . ἐπιστραφήτωepistraphētōreturn

15ἀμὴνamēnTruly λέγωlegōI tell ὑμῖνhyminyou , ἀνεκτότερονanektoteronmore bearable ἔσταιestaiit will be γῇ- ΣοδόμωνSodomōnfor Sodom καὶkaiand ΓομόρραςgomorrasGomorrah ἐνenon ἡμέρᾳhēmera[the] day κρίσεωςkriseōsof judgment ēthan τῇ- πόλειpoleitown . ἐκείνῃekeinēfor that
16ἸδοὺIdouBehold , ἐγὼegōI ἀποστέλλωapostellōam sending you out ὑμᾶςhymas. . . ὡςhōslike πρόβαταprobatasheep ἐνenamong μέσῳmesō. . . λύκωνlykōnwolves ; γίνεσθεginesthebe οὖνountherefore φρόνιμοιphronimoias shrewd ὡςhōsas οἱhoi- ὄφειςopheissnakes καὶkaiand ἀκέραιοιakeraioias innocent ὡςhōsas αἱhai- περιστεραίperisteraidoves .
17ΠροσέχετεProsechetebeware δὲdeBut ἀπὸapoof τῶνtōn- ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnmen ; παραδώσουσιparadosousithey will deliver γὰρgarfor ὑμᾶςhymas. . . εἰςeisto συνέδριαsynedria[their] councils καὶkaiand ἐνenin ταῖςtais- συναγωγαῖςsynagōgaissynagogues . αὐτῶνautōntheir μαστιγώσουσινmastigōsousinflog ὑμᾶςhymasyou
18καὶkaiand ἐπὶepibefore ἡγεμόναςhēgemonasgovernors δὲde- καὶkaiand βασιλεῖςbasileiskings ἀχθήσεσθεachthēsestheyou will be brought ἕνεκενhenekenOn My account ἐμοῦemou. . . , εἰςeisas μαρτύριονmartyrionwitnesses αὐτοῖςautoisto them καὶkaiand τοῖςtoisto the ἔθνεσινethnesinGentiles .
19ὅτανhotanwhen δὲdeBut παραδῶσωσινparadososintradition ὑμᾶςhymas. . . , μὴ[do] not μεριμνήσητεmerimnēsēteworry about πῶςpōshow [to respond] ēor τίtiwhat λαλήσητεlalēsēteto say . δοθήσεταιdothēsetaiwill be given γὰρgarFor ὑμῖνhyminyou ἐνenIn ἐκείνῃekeinēthat τῇ- ὥρᾳhōrahour τίtiwhat λαλήσητεlalēsēteto say .
20οὐou. . . γὰρgarFor ὑμεῖςhymeisyou ἐστεesteit will not be οἱhoi- λαλοῦντεςlalountesspeaking , ἀλλὰallabut τὸtothe ΠνεῦμαPneumaSpirit τοῦtouof ΠατρὸςPatrosFather ὑμῶνhymōnyour τὸto- λαλοῦνlalounspeaking ἐνenthrough ὑμῖνhyminyou .
21ΠαραδώσειParadōseiwill betray δὲde- ἀδελφὸςadelphosBrother ἀδελφὸνadelphonbrother εἰςeisto θάνατονthanatondeath , καὶkaiand πατὴρpatēra father τέκνονteknon[his] child ; καὶkai- ἐπαναστήσονταιepanastēsontaiwill rise τέκναteknachildren ἐπὶepiagainst γονεῖςgoneis[their] parents καὶkaiand θανατώσουσινthanatōsousinhave them put to death αὐτούςautous. . . .
22καὶkai- ἔσεσθεesestheYou will be μισούμενοιmisoumenoihated ὑπὸhypoby πάντωνpantōneveryone διὰdiabecause of τὸto- ὄνομάonomaname , μουmouMy hothe [one who] δὲdebut ὑπομείναςhypomeinasperseveres εἰςeisto τέλοςtelos[the] end οὗτοςhoutos- σωθήσεταιsōthēsetaiwill be saved .
23ὍτανHotanWhen δὲde- διώκωσινdiōkōsinthey persecute ὑμᾶςhymasyou ἐνenin τῇ- πόλειpoleitown , ταύτῃtautēone φεύγετεpheugeteflee εἰςeisto τὴνtēnthe ἄλληνallēnother ἀμὴνamēnTruly γὰρgar- λέγωlegōI tell ὑμῖνhyminyou , οὐou. . . μὴ. . . τελέσητεtelesēteyou will not reach τὰςtas[all] the πόλειςpoleistowns τοῦtouof ἸσραὴλIsraēlIsrael ἕωςheōsbefore ‹ἂν›an. . . ἔλθῃelthēcomes . hothe ΥἱὸςHuiosSon τοῦtouof ἀνθρώπουanthrōpouMan
24ΟὐκOuknot ἔστιestiis μαθητὴςmathētēsA disciple ὑπὲρhyperabove τὸνton[his] διδάσκαλονdidaskalonteacher , οὐδὲoudenor δοῦλοςdoulosa servant ὑπὲρhyperabove τὸνton- κύριονkyrionmaster . αὐτοῦautouhis
25ἀρκετὸνarketon[It is] enough τῷfor μαθητῇmathētēa disciple ἵναhinato γένηταιgenētaibe ὡςhōslike ho- διδάσκαλοςdidaskalosteacher , αὐτοῦautouhis καὶkaiand hoa δοῦλοςdoulosservant ὡςhōslike ho- κύριοςkyriosmaster . αὐτοῦautouhis εἰeiIf τὸνtonthe οἰκοδεσπότηνoikodespotēnhead of the house ΒεελζεβοὺλBeelzeboulBeelzebul , ἐκάλεσαν,ekalesanhas been called πόσῳposōhow much μᾶλλονmallonmore τοὺςtousthe members οἰκιακοὺςoikiakoushousehold ! αὐτοῦautouof his
26Μὴ. . . οὖνounSo φοβηθῆτεphobēthētedo not be afraid αὐτούςautousof them . οὐδὲνoudennothing γάρgarFor ἐστιestiis κεκαλυμμένονkekalymmenonconcealed hothat οὐκoukvvv ἀποκαλυφθήσεταιapokalyphthēsetaiwill not be disclosed , καὶkaiand [nothing] κρυπτὸνkryptonhidden hothat οὐou. . . . γνωσθήσεταιgnōsthēsetaiwill not be made known
27hothat λέγωlegōI tell ὑμῖνhyminyou ἐνenin τῇthe σκοτίᾳskotiadark , εἴπατεeipatespeak ἐνenin τῷthe φωτίphōtidaylight ; καὶkai- howhat εἰςeisin τὸto[your] οὖςousear , ἀκούετεakoueteis whispered κηρύξατεkēryxateproclaim ἐπὶepifrom τῶνtōnthe δωμάτωνdōmatōnhousetops .

29ΟὐχὶOuchi{Are} not δύοdyotwo στρουθίαstrouthiasparrows ἀσσαρίουassarioufor a penny ? πωλεῖταιpōleitaisold καὶkaiYet ἓνhenone ἐξexof αὐτῶνautōnthem οὐounot πεσεῖταιpeseitaiwill fall ἐπὶepito τὴνtēnthe γῆνgēnground ἄνευaneuapart from the will τοῦtou- ΠατρὸςPatrosFather . ὑμῶνhymōnof your
30ὑμῶνhymōnof your δὲdeAnd καὶkaieven αἱhaithe very τρίχεςtricheshairs τῆςtēsof κεφαλῆςkephalēshead πᾶσαιpasaiall ἠριθμημέναιērithmēmenainumbered . εἰσί.eisiare
31μὴ. . . ; οὖνounSo φοβηθῆτεphobēthētedo not be afraid πολλῶνpollōnthan many στρουθίωνstrouthiōnsparrows . διαφέρετεdiaphereteare worth more ὑμεῖςhymeisyou

33ὅστιςhostiswhoever δ’d’But ἂνan. . . ἀρνήσηταίarnēsētaidenies μεmeMe ἔμπροσθενemprosthenbefore τῶνtōn- ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnmen , ἀρνήσομαιarnēsomaiI will also deny αὐτὸνautonhim κἀγὼkagōvvv ἔμπροσθενemprosthenbefore τοῦtou- ΠατρόςPatrosFather μουmouMy τοῦtou- ἐνenin οὐρανοῖςouranoisheaven .
34Μὴ{Do} not νομίσητεnomisēteassume ὅτιhotithat ἦλθονēlthonI have come βαλεῖνbaleinto bring εἰρήνηνeirēnēnpeace ἐπὶepito τὴνtēnthe γῆνgēnearth ; οὐκouk. . . ἦλθονēlthonI have not come βαλεῖνbaleinto bring εἰρήνηνeirēnēnpeace , ἀλλὰallabut μάχαιρανmachairana sword .
35ἦλθονēlthonI have come γὰρgarFor διχάσαιdichasaito turn ἌνθρωπονAnthrōpon‘ a man κατὰkataagainst τοῦtou- πατρὸςpatrosfather , αὐτοῦautouhis ΚαὶKai- θυγατέραthygateraa daughter κατὰkataagainst τῆςtēs- μητρὸςmētrosmother , αὐτῆςautēsher ΚαὶKai- νύμφηνnymphēna daughter-in-law κατὰkataagainst τῆςtēs- πενθερᾶςpentherasmother-in-law . αὐτῆςautēsher
36ΚαὶKai- ἐχθροὶechthroienemies [will be] τοῦtouvvv ἀνθρώπουanthrōpouA man’s οἱhoithe [members] οἰκιακοὶoikiakoihousehold .’ αὐτοῦautouof his own
37HoAnyone who φιλῶνphilōnloves πατέραpatera[his] father ēor μητέραmēteramother ὑπὲρhypermore than ἐμὲemeMe οὐκouknot ἔστιestiis μουmouof Me ; ἄξιοςaxiosworthy καὶkai- hoanyone who φιλῶνphilōnloves υἱὸνhuion[his] son ēor θυγατέραthygateradaughter ὑπὲρhypermore than ἐμὲemeMe οὐκouknot ἔστιestiis μουmouof Me ; ἄξιοςaxiosworthy

39hoWhoever εὑρὼνheurōnfinds τὴνtēn- ψυχὴνpsychēnlife αὐτοῦautouhis ἀπολέσειapoleseiwill lose αὐτήνautēnit , καὶkaiand howhoever ἀπολέσαςapolesasloses τὴνtēn- ψυχὴνpsychēnlife αὐτοῦautouhis ἕνεκενhenekenfor My sake ἐμοῦemou. . . εὑρήσειheurēseiwill find αὐτήνautēnit .
40HoHe who δεχόμενοςdechomenosreceives ὑμᾶςhymasyou ἐμὲemeMe , δέχεταιdechetaireceives καὶkaiand hohe who ἐμὲemeMe δεχόμενοςdechomenosreceives δέχεταιdechetaireceives τὸνtonthe [One who] ἀποστείλαντάaposteilantasent μεmeMe .
41hoWhoever δεχόμενοςdechomenosreceives προφήτηνprophētēna prophet εἰςeisbecause he is ὄνομαonoma. . . προφήτουprophētoua prophet μισθὸνmisthonreward , προφήτουprophētoua prophet’s λήψεται,lepsetaiwill receive καὶkaiand howhoever δεχόμενοςdechomenosreceives δίκαιονdikaiona righteous [man] εἰςeisbecause he is ὄνομαonoma. . . δικαίουdikaioua righteous [man] μισθὸνmisthonreward . δικαίουdikaioua righteous [man’s] λήψεται.lepsetaiwill receive
42καὶkaiAnd ὃςhosif anyone ἐὰνeanif ποτίσῃpotisēgives ἕναhenato one τῶνtōn- μικρῶνmikrōnlittle ones τούτωνtoutōnof these ποτήριονpotēriona cup ψυχροῦpsychrouof cold [water] μόνονmononeven εἰςeis- ὄνομαonoma[because he is My] μαθητοῦmathētoudisciple , ἀμὴνamēntruly λέγωlegōI tell ὑμῖνhyminyou , οὐou. . . μὴ. . . ἀπολέσῃapolesēhe will never lose τὸνton- μισθὸνmisthonreward . ” αὐτοῦautouhis
