19ἰδοὺidouBehold , δίδωμιdidōmiI can give ὑμῖνhyminyou τὴνtēn- ἐξουσίανexousianauthority τοῦtou- πατεῖνpateinto tread ἐπάνωepanōon ὄφεωνopheōnsnakes καὶkaiand σκορπίωνskorpiōnscorpions , καὶkaiand ἐπὶepiover πᾶσανpasanall τὴνtēnthe δύναμινdynaminpower τοῦtouof the ἐχθροῦechthrouenemy . καὶkai- οὐδὲνoudenNothing ὑμᾶςhymasyou . οὐou. . . μὴmē. . . ἀδικήσῃ*adikēsēwill harm

26ὉHo- δὲde- εἰπὲ*eipeTell πρὸςprosat αὐτὸνautonHim ἦνēnhad τῷtō- νόμῳnomōLaw ? ” τίti“ What γέγραπταιgegraptaiis written πῶςpōs“ How ἀναγινώσκειςanaginōskeisdo you read [it] ? ”

27ὉHo- δὲde- ἀποκριθεὶςapokritheisvvv εἶπενeipenHe answered , ἈγαπήσειςAgapēseis“‘ Love ΚύριονKyrion[the] Lord τὸνton- ΘεόνTheonGod σουsouyour ἐξexwith ὅληςholēsall τῆςtēs- καρδίαςkardiasheart σουsouyour καὶkaiand ἐξexwith ὅληςholēsall τῆςtēs- ψυχῆςpsukhessoul σουsouyour καὶkaiand ἐξexwith ὅληςholēsall τῆςtēs- ἰσχύοςiskhuosstrength σουsouyour καὶkaiand ἐξexwith ὅληςholēsall τῆςtēs- διανοίαςdianoiasin [the] thoughts σουsouyour καὶkaiand τὸνton- πλησίονplēsionneighbor σουsou‘ [Love] your ὡςhōsas σεαυτόνseautonyourself .’ ”

28εἰπὲ*eipeTell δὲde- αὐτῷautōhim , ὈρθῶςOrthōscorrectly , ” ἀπεκρίθηςapekrithēs“ You have answered τοῦτοtoutothis ποίειpoiei“ Do καὶkaiand ζήσῃzēsēyou will live . ”

29ὉHo- δὲdeBut θέλωνthelōnwanting δικαιοῦνdikaiounto justify ἑαυτὸνheautonhimself , εἰπὲ*eipeTell πρὸςprosat τὸνton- ἸησοῦνIēsounJesus , ΚαὶKai“ And τίςtiswho ἐστίestiis μουmoumy πλησίονplēsionneighbor ? ”
