1καὶkaiand ἐὰνeanIf ἔχωechōI have προφητείανprophēteianthe gift of prophecy καὶkaiand εἰδῶeidōcan fathom τὰta- μυστήριαmystēriamysteries πάνταpantaall καὶkaiand πᾶσανpasanall τὴνtēn- γνῶσινgnōsinknowledge , καὶkaiand ἐὰνeanif ἔχωechōI have πᾶσανpasanabsolute τὴνtēn- πίστινpistinfaith ὥστεhōsteso as ὄρηorēmountains , μεθιστάνειν,methistaneinto move ἀγάπηνagapēnlove , δὲdebut μὴmēnot ἔχωechōhave οὐδὲνoudennothing . εἰμιeimiI am
2καὶkai- ἐὰνeanIf ψωμίσωpsōmisōI give πάνταpantaall τὰta- ὑπάρχοντάhyparchontapossess {to the poor} μουmouI καὶkaiand ἐὰνean- παραδῶparadōin the surrender τὸto- σῶμάsōmabody , μουmouof my ἵναhina- καυθήσωμαι,kauthesomaiexult ἀγάπηνagapēnlove , δὲdebut μὴmēnot ἔχωechōhave οὐδὲνoudennothing . ὠφελοῦμαιōpheloumaiI gain
3ἩHē- ἀγάπηagapēLove μακροθυμεῖmakrothymeiis patient , χρηστεύεταιchrēsteuetaiis kind . ἡhē- ἀγάπηagapē[It] οὐouvvv ζηλοῖzēloidoes not envy , ἡhē- ἀγάπηagapē[It] οὐouvvv περπερεύεταιperpereuetaiit does not boast , οὐouvvv φυσιοῦταιphysioutaiit is not proud .
4οὐκoukvvv ἀσχημονεῖaschēmoneiIt is not rude , οὐouvvv ζητεῖzēteiit is not self-seeking τὰta. . . ἑαυτῆςheautēs. . . , οὐouvvv παροξύνεταιparoxynetaiit is not easily angered , οὐouvvv λογίζεταιlogizetaiit keeps no account τὸto- κακόνkakonof wrongs .
5οὐouvvv χαίρειchairei[Love] takes no pleasure ἐπὶepiin τῇtē- ἀδικίᾳadikiaevil , συγχαίρειsugkhaireirejoices with [it] . δὲdebut τῇtēin the ἀληθείᾳalētheiatruth .
6πάνταpantaall things , στέγειstegeiIt bears πάνταpantaall things , πιστεύειpisteueibelieves πάνταpantaall things , ἐλπίζειelpizeihopes πάνταpantaall things , ὑπομένειhypomeneiendures
7ἩHē- ἀγάπηagapēLove οὐδέποτεoudepotenever ἐκπίπτειekpipteifall off εἴτεeitewhere δὲdeBut προφητεῖαιprophēteiai[there are] prophecies , καταργηθήσονταιkatargēthēsontaithey will cease ; εἴτεeitewhere γλῶσσαιglōssai[there are] tongues , παύσονταιpausontaithey will be restrained ; εἴτεeitewhere γνῶσιςgnōsis[there is] knowledge , καταργηθήσεταιkatargēthēsetaiit will be dismissed .
8ἐκekin μέρουςmerouspart δὲdebut γινώσκομενginōskomenwe know καὶkaiand ἐκekin μέρουςmerouspart , προφητεύομενprophēteuomenwe prophesy
9ὅτανhotanwhen δὲdebut ἔλθῃelthēcomes , τὸtothe τέλειονteleionperfect τότεtotethen [we shall see] τὸtothe ἐκekvvv μέρουςmerouspartial καταργηθήσεταιkatargēthēsetaipasses away .
10ὍτεHoteWhen ἤμηνēmēnI was νήπιοςnēpiosa child , ὡςhōslike νήπιοςnēpiosa child , ἐλάλουνelalounI talked ὡςhōslike νήπιοςnēpiosa child , ἐφρόνουνephronounI thought ὡςhōslike νήπιοςnēpiosa child , ἐλογιζόμηνelogizomēnI reasoned ὅτεhoteWhen δὲde- γέγοναgegonaI became ἀνήρanēra man , κατήργηκαkatērgēkaI set aside τὰtavvv τοῦtouvvv νηπίουnēpiouchildish ways .
11βλέπομενblepomenwe see γὰρgar- ἄρτιartiNow δι’di’as in ἐσόπτρουesoptroua mirror ; ἐνenvvv αἰνίγματιainigmatibut a dim reflection τότεtotethen [we shall see] δὲde- πρόσωπονprosōponface πρὸςprosto πρόσωπονprosōponface . ἄρτιartiNow γινώσκωginōskōI know ἐκekin μέρουςmerouspart ; τότεtotethen δὲde- ἐπιγνώσομαιepignōsomaiI shall know fully , καθὼςkathōsas καὶkaieven ἐπεγνώσθηνepegnōsthēnI am fully known .
12ΝυνὶNyninow δὲdeAnd μένειmeneiremain : πίστιςpistisfaith , ἐλπίςelpishope , ἀγάπηagapē[and] love ; τὰta- τρίαtriathree ταῦταtautathese μείζωνmeizōn[the] greatest δὲdebut τούτωνtoutōnof these [is] ἡhē- ἀγάπηagapēlove .
