Hebrews 8

1ΚεφάλαιονKephalaion[The] point δὲdehowever , ἐπὶepion τοῖςtoiswith λεγομένοιςlegomenoiswe are saying [is this] : τοιοῦτονtoioutonsuch ἔχομενechomenWe do have ἀρχιερέαarchiereaa high priest , ὃςhoswho ἐκάθισενekathisensat down ἐνenat δεξιᾷdexia[the] right hand τοῦtouof the θρόνουthronouthrone τῆςtēsof the ΜεγαλωσύνηςMegalōsynēsMajesty ἐνenin τοῖςtois- οὐρανοῖςouranoisheaven ,

2τῶνtōnin the ἁγίωνhagiōnsanctuary λειτουργὸςleitourgos[and who] ministers καὶkaiand τῆςtēs- σκηνῆςskēnēstabernacle τῆςtēs- ἀληθινῆςalēthinēstrue ἣνhēn- ἔπηξενepēxenset up ὁhoby the ΚύριοςKyriosLord , καὶkaiand οὐκouknot ἄνθρωποςanthrōposby man .

3ΠᾶςPasevery γὰρgarAnd since ἀρχιερεὺςarchiereushigh priest εἰςeisto τὸto- προσφέρεινprosphereinoffer δῶράdōragifts τεteboth καὶkaiand θυσίαςthysiassacrifices , καθίσταταιkathistataiis appointed ὅθενhothen[it was] ἀναγκαῖονanankaionnecessary ἔχεινecheinto have τιtisomething καὶkaialso τοῦτονtouton[for] this One ὃho- προσενέγκῃprosenenkēto offer .

4εἰeiif μὲνmen. . . γὰρgarAnd since ἣνhēn- ἐπὶepiof γῆςgēsearth , οὐδ’oud’vvv ἂνanvvv ἦνēnHe would not be ἱερεύςhiereusa priest , ὄντωνontōnsince there are already τῶνtōn[priests] ἱερέωνhiereōnpriests . τῶνtōn[priests] προσφερόντωνprospherontōnwho offer κατὰkataaccording to τῶνtōn[priests] νόμονnomon[the] law . τὰta- δῶραdōragifts

5οἵτινεςhoitines[The place where] ὑποδείγματιhypodeigmati[is] a copy καὶkaiand σκιᾷskiashadow λατρεύουσιlatreuousithey serve τῶνtōnof what ἐπουρανίωνepouraniōnis in heaven . καθὼςkathōsThis is why κεχρημάτισταιkechrēmatistaiwas warned ΜωϋσῆςMōusēsMoses μέλλωνmellōnwhen he was about ἐπιτελεῖνepiteleinto build τὴνtēnthe σκηνήνskēnēntabernacle ὍραHora“ See to it that γάρgar- φησι,phesihe said . ΠοιήσειςPoiēseisyou make πάνταpantaeverything κατὰkataaccording to τὸνtonthe τύπονtyponpattern τὸνton- δειχθένταdeichthentashown σοιsoiyou ἐνenon τῷtōthe ὄρειoreimountain .”

6Νυνὶ*NyniNow , δὲdehowever , διαφορωτέραςdiaphorōterasmore excellent τέτυχεtetukhe[Jesus] has received λειτουργίαςleitourgiasministry , ὅσῳhosōa much καὶkaijust as κρείττονόςkreittonosis better ἐστίestiI have διαθήκηςdiathēkēsthe covenant μεσίτηςmesitēsHe mediates ἥτιςhētis[and] ἐπὶepion κρείττοσινkreittosinbetter ἐπαγγελίαιςepangeliaispromises . νενομοθέτηταιnenomothetētaiis founded

7εἰeiif γὰρgarFor ἡhē- πρώτηprōtēfirst [ covenant ] ἐκείνηekeinēthat ἦνēnhad been ἄμεμπτοςamemptoswithout fault , οὐκoukno ἂνanvvv δευτέραςdeuterasfor a second . ἐζητεῖτοezēteitowould have been sought τόποςtoposplace

8μεμφόμενοςmemphomenos[God] found fault γὰρgar[But] αὐτοῖςautoistheir λέγειlegeideclares ἸδοὺIdou“ Behold , ἡμέραιhēmerai[the] days ἔρχονταιerchontaiare coming , λέγειlegeideclares ΚύριοςKyrios[the] Lord , καὶkai[when] συντελέσωsyntelesōI will make ἐπὶepiwith τὸνtonthe οἶκονoikonhouse ἸσραὴλIsraēlof Israel καὶkaiand ἐπὶepiwith τὸνtonthe οἶκονoikonhouse ἸούδαIoudaof Judah . διαθήκηνdiathēkēncovenant καινήνkainēna new

9οὐou[It will] not κατὰkatabe like τὴνtēnthe διαθήκηνdiathēkēncovenant ἣνhēn- ἐποίησαepoiēsaI made τοῖςtoiswith πατράσινpatrasinfathers αὐτῶνautōntheir ἐνenvvv ἡμέρᾳhēmerawhen ἐπιλαβομένουepilabomenoutook μουmouI τῆςtēsby the χειρὸςcheiroshand αὐτῶνautōnthem ἐξαγαγεῖνexagageinto lead αὐτοὺςautousthem ἐκekout of γῆςgēs[the] land ΑἰγύπτουAigyptouof Egypt , ὅτιhotibecause αὐτοὶautoithey οὐκoukvvv ἐνέμεινανenemeinandid not abide ἐνenby τῇtē- διαθήκῃdiathēkēcovenant , μουmouMy κἀγὼkagōand I ἠμέλησαēmelēsadisregarded αὐτῶνautōnthem , λέγειlegeideclares ΚύριοςKyrios[the] Lord .

10ὅτιhotiFor αὕτηhautēthis [is] ἡhēthe διαθήκηdiathēkēcovenant ἣνhēn- διαθήσομαιdiathēsomaiI will make τῷtōwith the οἴκῳoikōhouse ἸσραὴλIsraēlof Israel μετὰmetaafter τὰςtas- ἡμέραςhēmerasdays , ἐκείναςekeinasthose λέγειlegeideclares ΚύριοςKyrios[the] Lord . διδοὺςdidousI will put νόμουςnomouslaws μουmouMy εἰςeisin τὴνtēn- διάνοιανdianoianminds αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand ἐπὶepion καρδίαςkardiashearts . αὐτῶνautōntheir ἐπιγράψωepigrapsōinscribe αὐτούςautousthem καὶkaiand ἔσομαιesomaiI will be αὐτοῖςautoistheir εἰςeisvvv ΘεόνTheonGod , καὶkaiand αὐτοὶautoithey ἔσονταίesontaiwill be μοιmoiMy εἰςeis. . . λαόνlaonpeople .

11καὶkai- οὐouNo longer μὴmē. . . διδάξωσινdidaxōsinteach ἕκαστοςhekastos{will} each one τὸνton- πολίτηνpolitēnneighbor αὐτοῦautouhis καὶkai[or] ἕκαστοςhekastos- τὸνton- ἀδελφὸνadelphonbrother , αὐτοῦautouhis λέγωνlegōnsaying , ΓνῶθιGnōthi‘ Know τὸνtonthe ΚύριονKyrionLord ,’ ὅτιhotibecause πάντεςpantesvvv εἰδήσουσίeidesousithey will all know μεmeMe , ἀπὸapofrom μικροῦmikrou[the] least αὐτῶνautōnof them ἕωςheōsto μεγάλουmegalou[the] greatest . αὐτῶνautōnof them

12ὅτιhotiFor ἵλεωςhileōsforgive ἔσομαιesomaiI will ταῖςtaisvvv ἀδικίαιςadikiaisiniquities αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand τῶνtōn- ἁμαρτιῶνhamartiōnsins αὐτῶνautōntheir οὐouno μὴmē. . . μνησθῶmnēsthōwill remember ἔτιetimore .”

13ἘνEnBy τῷtō- λέγεινlegeinspeaking of ΚαινὴνKainēna new [covenant] , πεπαλαίωκεpepalaiokeHe has made τὴνtēnthe πρώτηνprōtēnfirst one {obsolete} ; τὸtowhat δὲdeand παλαιούμενονpalaioumenonis obsolete καὶkaiand γηράσκονgēraskonaging ἐγγὺςengyswill soon ἀφανισμοῦaphanismoudisappear .
