4εἰδότεςeidoteswe know ἀδελφοὶadelphoiBrothers ἠγαπημένοιēgapēmenoiwho are beloved ὑπὸhypoby ΘεοῦTheouGod , τὴνtēn- ἐκλογὴνeklogēn[that] He has chosen ὑμῶνhymōnyou ,
5ὅτιhotibecause τὸto- εὐαγγέλιονeuangeliongospel ἡμῶνhēmōnour οὐκouknot ἐγενήθηegenēthēcame εἰςeisto ὑμᾶςhymasyou ἐνenin λόγῳlogōword , μόνονmonononly ἀλλὰallabut καὶkaialso ἐνenin δυνάμειdynameipower , καὶkai- ἐνenin ΠνεύματιPneumatiSpirit , ἉγίῳHagiō[the] Holy καὶkaiand ἐνenwith πληροφορίᾳplērophoriaconviction — πολλῇpollēgreat καθὼςkathōsjust as οἴδατεoidateyou know οἷοιhoioi- ἐγενήθημενegenēthēmenwe lived ἐνenamong ὑμῖνhyminyou δι’di’for your sake ὑμᾶςhymas. . . .

7ὥστεhōsteAs a result , γενέσθαιgenesthaihave become ὑμᾶςhymasyou τύπουςtypousidols πᾶσιpasiall τοῖςtoisthe πιστεύουσινpisteuousinbelievers ἐνenin τῇ- ΜακεδονίᾳMakedoniaMacedonia καὶkaiand ἐνen- τῇ- ἈχαΐᾳAchaiaAchaia .
8ἀφ’aph’from ὑμῶνhymōnyou γὰρgarFor ἐξήχηταιexēchētairing out ho{did} the λόγοςlogosmessage τοῦtouof the ΚυρίουKyriouLord οὐounot μόνονmonononly ἐνen- τῇ- ΜακεδονίᾳMakedoniaMacedonia καὶkaiand ἐνen- τῇ- ἈχαΐᾳAchaiaAchaia . ἀλλὰallabut καὶkaialso ἐνenin παντὶpantievery τόπῳtopōplace , - πίστιςpistisfaith ὑμῶνhymōnyour - πρὸςprosin τὸνton- ΘεὸνTheonGod ἐξελήλυθενexelēlythenhas gone out ὥστεhōsteso that μὴno χρείανchreianneed ἡμᾶςhēmaswe ἔχεινecheinhave λαλεῖνlaleinto say τιtianything [more] .
