1ΤὸνTonhim whose δὲdewhile ἀσθενοῦνταasthenountais weak , τῇtē- πίστειpisteifaith προσλαμβάνεσθεproslambanestheAccept μὴmēwithout εἰςeis. . . διακρίσειςdiakriseispassing judgment διαλογισμῶνdialogismōnon [his] opinions .
2ὃςhosone [person] μὲνmenFor πιστεύειpisteueihas faith φαγεῖνphageinto eat πάνταpantaall things , ὁhoanother , δὲdewhile ἀσθενῶνasthenōnwho is weak , λάχαναlachana[only] vegetables . ἐσθίειesthieieats
3ὁhoThe [one who] ἐσθίωνesthiōneats [everything] τὸνtonthe [one who] μὴmēvvv ἐσθίονταesthionta[does not] , μὴmēvvv ἐξουθενείτωexoutheneitōmust not belittle καὶkaiand ὁhohe who μὴmēvvv ἐσθίωνesthiōnabstains τὸνton- ἐσθίονταesthionta[does] , μὴmēvvv κρινέτωkrinetōmust not judge ὁho- ΘεὸςTheosGod γὰρgarfor αὐτὸνautonhim . προσελάβετοproselabetohas accepted
4σὺsyyou τίςtisWho εἶeiare ὁho- κρίνωνkrinōnto judge ἀλλότριονallotrionsomeone else’s οἰκέτηνoiketēnservant ? τῷtōTo [his] ἰδίῳidiōown κυρίῳkyriōmaster στήκειstēkeihe stands ἢēor πίπτειpipteifalls . σταθήσεταιstathēsetaihe will stand , δέdeAnd δυνατόςdynatosMighty One γὰρgarfor ἐστινestinis ὁhowhoever ΘεὸςTheosGod στῆσαιstēsaito make him stand . αὐτόνautonvvv
5ὋςHosOne [person] μὲνmen- κρίνειkrineiregards ἡμέρανhēmeran[a certain] day παρ’par’above ἡμέρανhēmeran[the others] , ὃςhossomeone [else] δὲdewhile κρίνειkrineiconsiders πᾶσανpasanevery ἡμέρανhēmeranday [alike] . ἕκαστοςhekastosEach [one] ἐνenin τῷtō[his] ἰδίῳidiōown νοῒnoimind . πληροφορείσθωplērophoreisthōshould be fully convinced
6ὁhoHe who φρονῶνphronōnobserves τὴνtēn- ἡμέρανhēmeran[a special] day ΚυρίῳKyriōto [the] Lord ; φρονεῖphronei[does so] καὶkaiand ὁhohe who μὴmēvvv φρονῶνphronōnobserves τὴνtēn- ἡμέρανhēmeran[a special] day ΚυρίῳKyriōto [the] Lord ; οὗhouwhom φρονεῖphronei[does so] καὶkaiand ὁhohe who ἐσθίωνesthiōnabstains ΚυρίῳKyriōto [the] Lord ἐσθίειesthiei[does so] εὐχαριστεῖeucharisteigives thanks γὰρgarFor τῷtō- ΘεῷTheōto God . καὶkaiand ὁhohe who μὴmēvvv ἐσθίωνesthiōnabstains ΚυρίῳKyriōto [the] Lord οὐκoukvvv ἐσθίειesthiei[does so] καὶkaiand εὐχαριστεῖeucharisteigives thanks τῷtō- ΘεῷTheōto God .
7ΟὐδεὶςOudeisnone γὰρgarFor ἡμῶνhēmōnof us ἑαυτῷheautōto himself [alone] , ζῇzēlives καὶkaiand οὐδεὶςoudeisnone [ of us ] ἑαυτῷheautōto himself [alone] . ἀποθνῄσκειapothnēskeidies
8ἐάνeanIf τεte- γὰρgar- ζῶμενzōmenwe live , τῷtōto the ΚυρίῳKyriōLord , ζῶμενzōmenwe live ἐάνeanIf τεte- ἀποθνήσκωμενapothnēskōmenwe die , τῷtōto the ΚυρίῳKyriōLord . ἀποθνήσκομενapothnēskomenwe die ἐάνeanif τεteand οὖνounSo ζῶμενzōmenwe live ἐάνeanwhether τεte- ἀποθνήσκομενapothnēskomenwe die τοῦtouthe ΚυρίουKyriouLord . ἐσμένesmenwe belong to
9εἰςeisFor τοῦτοtoutothis reason γὰρgar. . . ΧριστὸςChristosChrist καὶkaiand ἀπέθανεapethaneshe is not dead καὶkaiand ἀνέστηanestēshe got up . καὶkaiand ἔζησενezēsenreturned to life , ἵναhinathat καὶkaiboth νεκρῶνnekrōn[the] dead καὶkaiand ζώντωνzōntōn[the] living . κυριεύσῃkyrieusēHe might be the Lord of
10ΣὺSy{do} you δὲdethen , τίtiWhy , κρίνειςkrineisjudge τὸνton- ἀδελφόνadelphonbrother ? σουsouyour ἢēOr καὶkai- σὺsy{do} you τίtiwhy ἐξουθενεῖςexoutheneisbelittle τὸνton- ἀδελφόνadelphonbrother ? σουsouyour πάντεςpantesvvv γὰρgarFor παραστησόμεθαparastēsomethawe will all stand before τῷtō- βήματιbēmatijudgment seat . τοῦtouvvv ΧριστοῦChristouChrist ,
11γέγραπταιgegraptaiIt is written : γάρgar- ΖῶZōlive , ἐγώegō“ [As surely as] I λέγειlegeisays ΚύριοςKyrios[the] Lord , ὅτιhoti- ἐμοὶemoibefore Me ; κάμψειkampseiwill bow πᾶνpanevery γόνυgonyknee καὶkai- πᾶσαpasaevery γλῶσσαglōssatongue ἐξομολογήσεταιexomologēsetaiwill confess τῷtō- ΘεῷTheōto God .”
12ἌραAraSo οὖνounthen , ἕκαστοςhekastoseach ἡμῶνhēmōnof us περὶperiof ἑαυτοῦheautouhimself λόγονlogonan account δώσειdōseiwill give τῷtō- ΘεῷTheōto God .
13ΜηκέτιMēketivvv οὖνounTherefore ἀλλήλουςallēlousone another . κρίνωμενkrinōmenlet us stop judging ἀλλὰallaInstead τοῦτοtouto- κρίνατεkrinatemake up your mind μᾶλλονmallon. . . , τὸto- μὴmēnot τιθέναιtithenaito put πρόσκομμαproskomma[any] stumbling block τὸto- ἀδελφῷadelphōin your brother’s way . ἢēor σκάνδαλονskandalonobstacle
14ΟἶδαOidaI am convinced καὶkaiand πέπεισμαιpepeismaifully persuaded ἐνenin ΚυρίῳKyriō[the] Lord ἸησοῦIēsouJesus ὅτιhotithat οὐδὲνoudennothing [is] κοινὸνkoinonunclean δι’di’in αὐτοῦautou[Zechariah’s] εἰeiBut if μὴmē. . . τῷtō[anyone] λογιζομένῳlogizomenōregards τιtisomething κοινὸνkoinonunclean , εἶναιeinaias ἐκείνῳekeinō[then] for him κοινόνkoinon[it is] unclean .
15εἰeiIf δὲdethen , διὰdiaby βρῶμαbrōma[what you eat] , ὁho- ἀδελφόςadelphosbrother σουsouyour λυπεῖταιlypeitaiis distressed οὐκέτιouketivvv κατὰkatain ἀγάπηνagapēnlove . περιπατεῖςperipateisyou are no longer acting μὴmē{Do} not τῷtōby βρώματίbrōmati[your eating] σουsouyour ἐκεῖνονekeinon[brother] , ἀπόλλυεapollyedestroy ὑπὲρhyperfor οὗhouwhom ΧριστὸςChristosChrist ἀπέθανε.apethaneshe is not dead
16ΜὴMē{Do} not {allow} βλασφημείσθωblasphēmeisthōto be spoken of as evil . οὖνounthen , ὑμῶνhymōnyou [consider] τὸtowhat ἀγαθόνagathongood ,
17οὗhouwhom γάρgarFor ἐστινestinis ἡhēthe βασιλείαbasileiakingdom τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God βρῶσιςbrōsiseating καὶkaiand πόσιςposisdrinking , ἀλλὰallabut δικαιοσύνηdikaiosynēof righteousness , καὶkai- εἰρήνηeirēnēpeace , καὶkaiand χαρὰcharajoy ἐνenin ΠνεύματιPneumatiSpirit . ἉγίῳHagiō[the] Holy
18ὁhowhoever γὰρgarFor ἐνenin τούτοιςtoutois[this] , δουλεύωνdouleuōnserves τῷtō- ΧριστῷChristōChrist εὐάρεστοςeuarestos[is] pleasing τῷtō- ΘεῷTheōto God καὶkaiand δόκιμοςdokimosapproved τοῖςtois- ἀνθρώποιςanthrōpoisby men .
19ἌραAraSo οὖνounthen , τὰtawhat leads to τῆςtēs- εἰρήνηςeirēnēspeace διώκωμεν*diōkōmenlet us pursue καὶkaiand τὰtato τῆςtēs- οἰκοδομῆςoikodomēsedification . τῆςtēs- εἰςeisvvv ἀλλήλουςallēlousmutual
20μὴmē{Do} not ἕνεκενhenekenfor the sake of βρώματοςbrōmatosfood . κατάλυεkatalyedestroy τὸtothe ἔργονergonwork τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God πάνταpantaAll [food is] μὲνmen- καθαράkatharaclean , ἀλλὰallabut κακὸνkakon[it is] wrong τῷtō- ἀνθρώπῳanthrōpōfor a man τῷtō- διὰdiavvv προσκόμματοςproskommatosa stumbling block . ἐσθίοντιesthiontito let his eating be
21καλὸνkalon[It is] better τὸto- μὴmēnot φαγεῖνphageinto eat κρέαkreameat μηδὲmēde[or] πιεῖνpieindrink οἶνονoinonwine μηδὲmēde[or to do anything] ἐνenvvv ᾧhō[to cause] ᾧhō[to cause] ἀδελφόςadelphosbrother σουsouyour προσκόπτειproskopteito stumble . ἡhēthe σκανδαλίζεταιskandalizetaihe quickly falls away . ἡhēthe ἀσθενεῖastheneiis sick . ”
22ΣὺSyyour πίστινpistinbelief ἔχειςecheis. . . κατὰkatabetween σεαυτὸνseautonyourself ἔχεecheKeep ἐνώπιονenōpion[and] τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod . μακάριοςmakariosBlessed [is] ὁhothe [one who] μὴmēvvv κρίνωνkrinōndoes not condemn ἑαυτὸνheautonhimself ἐνenby ᾧhōwhat δοκιμάζειdokimazeihe approves .
23ᾧhōwhat δὲdeBut διακρινόμενοςdiakrinomenoshas doubts ἐὰνeanif φάγῃphagēhe eats , κατακέκριταιkatakekritaiis condemned ὅτιhotibecause [his eating is] οὐκouknot ἐκekfrom πίστεωςpisteōsfaith ; πᾶνpaneverything δὲdeand ὃhothat [is] οὐκouknot ἐκekfrom πίστεωςpisteōsfaith ἁμαρτίαhamartiasin . ἐστίνestinis
24τὸto- δὲdeBut δυναμένῳdynamenōis able ὑμᾶςhymasyou , στηρίξαιstērixaito strengthen κατὰkatabetween τὸto- εὐαγγέλιονeuangeliongospel μουmoumy καὶkaiand τὸtothe κήρυγμαkērygmapreaching ἸησοῦIēsouJesus ΧριστοῦChristouChrist , κατὰkatain ἀποκάλυψινapokalypsinrevelation μυστηρίουmystēriouof [the] mystery χρόνοιςchronoistimes αἰωνίοιςaiōnioisfor ages past σεσιγημένουsesigēmenouconcealed
25φανερωθέντοςphanerōthentosrevealed δὲdethen , νῦνnynnow on διὰdiaby τεte[or] γραφῶνgraphōnthe writings προφητικῶνprophētikōnof the prophets κατ’kat’vvv ἐπιταγὴνepitagēn[the] command τοῦtouthe αἰωνίουaiōniou[of] eternal ΘεοῦTheouGod’s εἰςeisFor ὑπακοήνhypakoēnobedient πίστεωςpisteōsfaith ; εἰςeisvvv πάνταpantaAll [food is] τὰtato ἔθνηethnēGentiles γνωρισθέντοςgnōristhentos[and] made known
26μόνῳmonōalone .’ ” σοφῷsophōwise ΘεῷTheōto God διὰdiavvv ἸησοῦIēsouJesus ΧριστοῦChristouChrist , ὁho- ἡhēthe δόξαdoxahonored εἰςeisvvv τοὺςtousvvv αἰῶναςaiōnasforever . ἀμὴνamēnTruly
