2διαπονούμενοιdiaponoumenoigreatly disturbed διὰdiathat τὸto- διδάσκεινdidaskeinwere teaching αὐτοὺςautousthey τὸνtonthe λαὸνlaonpeople καὶkaiand καταγγέλλεινkatangelleinproclaiming ἐνenin τῷ- ἸησοῦIēsouJesus τὴνtēnthe ἀνάστασινanastasinresurrection τὴνtēn- ἐκekof νεκρῶνnekrōn[the] dead .
3καὶkai- ἐπέβαλονepebalonThey seized αὐτοῖςautois[Peter and John] , τὰςtas. . . χεῖραςcheiras. . . καὶkaiand ἔθεντοethentothey put [them] εἰςeisin τήρησινtērēsincustody εἰςeisuntil τὴνtēnthe αὔριονaurionnext day . ἦνēnit was γὰρgarbecause ἑσπέραhesperaevening , ἤδηēdēvvv
4πολλοὶpolloimany δὲdeBut τῶνtōnwho ἀκουσάντωνakousantōnheard τὸνtonthe λόγονlogonmessage ἐπίστευσανepisteusanbelieved , καὶkaiand ἐγενήθηegenēthēgrew to ἀριθμὸςarithmosnumber τῶνtōnof ἀνδρῶνandrōnmen ὡσεὶhōseiabout χιλιάδεςchiliadesthousand . πέντεpentefive
5ἘγένετοEgeneto- δὲde- ἐπὶepi- τὴνtēnThe αὔριονaurionnext day συναχθῆναιsynachthēnaiassembled αὐτῶνautōn[the] τοὺςtous- ἄρχονταςarchontasrulers , καὶkai- τοὺςtous- πρεσβυτέρουςpresbyterouselders , καὶkaiand γραμματεῖςgrammateisscribes εἰςeisuntil ἸερουσαλήμIerousalēmJerusalem ,
6καὶkaialong with ἍννανHannanAnnas , τῶνtōnof ἀρχιερέαarchiereahigh priest , καὶkaiand ΚαϊάφανKaiaphanCaiaphas καὶkaiand ἸωάννηνIōannēnJohn . καὶkaiand ἈλέξανδρονAlexandronAlexander καὶkaiand ὅσοιhosoimany others ἦσανēsan. . . ἐκekfrom γένουςgenousfamily . ἀρχιερατικοῦarchieratikouthe high priest’s
7καὶkai- στήσαντεςstēsantesThey had αὐτοὺςautous[Peter and John] ἐνenvvv τῷvvv μέσῳmesō{brought} in ἐπυνθάνοντοepynthanonto[and] began to question them : ἘνEn“ By ποίᾳpoiawhat δυνάμειdynameipower ēor ἐνen- ποίῳpoiōwhat ὀνόματιonomatiname ἐποιήσατεepoiēsatedo τοῦτοtoutothis ? ” ὑμεῖςhymeis{did} you
8ΤότεToteThen ΠέτροςPetrosPeter , πλησθεὶςplēstheisfilled ΠνεύματοςPneumatosSpirit , ἉγίουHagiouwith [the] Holy εἰπὲeipesay πρὸςprosto αὐτούςautousthem , ἌρχοντεςArchontes“ Rulers τοῦtouof the λαοῦlaoupeople ! καὶkaiand πρεσβύτεροιpresbyteroielders τοῦtouof the ἸσραὴλIsraēlof Israel :
9εἰeiIf ἡμεῖςhēmeiswe σήμερονsēmerontoday ἀνακρινόμεθαanakrinomethaare being examined ἐπὶepiabout εὐεργεσίᾳeuergesiaa kind service ἀνθρώπουanthrōpou[to a] man ἀσθενοῦςasthenous[who was] lame , ἐνen[to determine] τίνιtinihow οὗτοςhoutoshe σέσωσταιsesōstaiwas healed ,
10γνωστὸνgnōstonknown ἔστωestō[then] let this be πᾶσινpasinto all ὑμῖνhyminof you καὶkaiand παντὶpantito all τῷthe λαῷlaōpeople ἸσραὴλIsraēlof Israel : ὅτιhoti[It is] ἐνenby τῷthe ὀνόματιonomatiname ἸησοῦIēsouof Jesus ΧριστοῦChristouChrist τοῦtouof ΝαζωραίουNazōraiouNazareth , ὃνhonwhom ὑμεῖςhymeisyou ἐσταυρώσατεestaurōsatecrucified ὃνhon[but] whom ho- ΘεὸςTheosGod ἤγειρενēgeirenraised ἐκekfrom νεκρῶνnekrōn[the] dead , ἐνen[that] τούτῳtoutō. . . οὗτοςhoutosthis [man] παρέστηκενparestēkenstands ἐνώπιονenōpionbefore ὑμῶνhymōnyou ὑγιήςhygiēshealed .
11οὗτόςhoutosThis [Jesus] ἐστινestinis Ho‘ the λίθοςlithosstone Ho‘ the ἐξουθενηθεὶςexouthenētheisrejected , ὑφ’hyph’- ὑμῶνhymōnyou τῶνtōn- οἰκοδομούντων,oikodomountonrebuild [it] ho- γενόμενοςgenomenoshas become εἰςeis. . . κεφαλὴνkephalēn[the] cornerstone γωνίαςgōnias. . . .’
12ΚαὶKai- οὐκoukvvv ἔστινestinexists ἐνenin ἄλλῳallōelse , οὐδενὶoudenino one - σωτηρίαsōtēriaSalvation οὐδὲoudeno γὰρgarfor ὄνομάonomaname ἐστινestinthere is ἕτερονheteronother ὑπὸhypounder τὸνton- οὐρανὸνouranonheaven τὸto- δεδομένονdedomenongiven ἐνento ἀνθρώποιςanthrōpoismen ἐνenby which δεῖdeimust σωθῆναιsōthēnaibe saved . ” ἡμᾶςhēmaswe
13ΘεωροῦντεςTheōrountesthey saw δὲde[When] τὴνtēnthe τοῦtou- ΠέτρουPetrouof Peter παρρησίανparrēsianboldness καὶkaiand ἸωάννουIōannouJohn καὶkaiand καταλαβόμενοιkatalabomenoirealized ὅτιhotithat ἄνθρωποιanthrōpoimen , ἀγράμματοίagrammatoiunschooled , εἰσιeisiare καὶkai- ἰδιῶταιidiōtaiordinary ἐθαύμαζονethaumazonthey marveled ἐπεγίνωσκόνepeginōskontook note τεteand αὐτοὺςautous[these men] ὅτιhotithat σὺνsynwith τῷ- ἸησοῦIēsouJesus . ἦσανēsanhad been
14τόνtonthe δὲdeSo ἄνθρωπονanthrōponman βλέποντεςblepontesseeing σὺνsynwith αὐτοῖςautoisthem , ἑστῶταhestōtastanding [there] τὸνtonwho τεθεραπευμένονtetherapeumenonhad been healed οὐδὲνoudennothing εἶχονeichonthey had ἀντειπεῖνanteipeinto say in response .
15κελεύσαντεςkeleusantesthey ordered δὲdeSo αὐτοὺςautousthem ἔξωexō. . . τοῦtouthe συνεδρίουsynedriouSanhedrin ἀπελθεῖνapeltheinto leave συνέβαλλονsyneballon[and] then conferred πρὸςprosvvv ἀλλήλουςallēloustogether .
16λέγοντεςlegontesthey asked . ΤίTi“ What ποιήσωμενpoiēsōmenshall we do τοῖςtoiswith ἀνθρώποιςanthrōpoismen ? ” τούτοιςtoutoisthese ὅτιhotithat μὲνmenvvv γὰρgar“ - γνωστὸνgnōstona remarkable σημεῖονsēmeionmiracle γέγονεgegonehas been done , δι’di’through αὐτῶνautōnthem , πᾶσιpasiall τοῖςtois- κατοικοῦσινkatoikousinliving ἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēm[in] Jerusalem φανερόνphaneron[It] is clear καὶkaiand οὐouvvv δυνάμεθαdynamethawe cannot ἀρνήσασθαι·arnesasthaideny [it] .
17ἀλλ’all’But ἵναhinato μὴvvv ἐπὶepivvv πλεῖονpleionany further διανεμηθῇdianemēthēkeep [this message] from spreading εἰςeisamong τὸνtonthe λαόνlaonpeople , ἀπειλῇapeilethreat ἀπειλησώμεθαapeilēsōmethawe must warn αὐτοῖςautoisthem μηκέτιmēketinot λαλεῖνlaleinto speak ἐπὶepiin τῷ- ὀνόματιonomatiname . ” τούτῳtoutōthis μηδενὶmēdenito ἀνθρώπωνanthrōpōnanyone
18ΚαὶKaiThen καλέσαντεςkalesantesthey called αὐτοὺςautousthem in [again] παρήγγειλανparēngeilanand commanded [them] αὐτοῖςautoisthem τῷ- καθόλουkatholouat all μὴnot φθέγγεσθαιphthengesthaito speak μηδὲmēde[or] διδάσκεινdidaskeinteach ἐπὶepiin τῷthe ὀνόματιonomatiname τοῦtou- ἸησοῦIēsouof Jesus .
19Ho- δὲdeBut ΠέτροςPetrosPeter καὶkaiand ἸωάννηςIōannēsJohn ἀποκριθέντεςapokrithentesreplied πρὸςpros. . . αὐτούςautous. . . , εἶπονeipon. . . ΕἰEiwhether δίκαιόνdikaionright ἐστινestinit is ἐνώπιονenōpionin God’s sight τοῦtou. . . ΘεοῦTheou. . . ὑμῶνhymōnto you ἀκούεινakoueinto listen μᾶλλονmallonrather ēthan τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouGod . κρίνατεkrinate“ Judge for yourselves
20οὐouvvv δυνάμεθαdynamethacannot γὰρgarFor ἡμεῖςhēmeiswe hawhat εἴδομένeidomen“ we saw καὶkaiand ἠκούσαμενēkousamenheard . ” μὴstop λαλεῖνlaleinspeaking about
21ΟἱHoi- δὲde[After] προσαπειλησάμενοιprosapeilēsamenoifurther threats ἀπέλυσανapelysanthey let them go αὐτούςautous. . . . μηδὲνmēden. . . εὑρίσκοντεςheuriskontesThey could not find a way τὸto- πῶςpōs. . . κολάσωνταιkolasōntaito punish αὐτούςautousthem , διὰdiabecause τὸνton{all} the λαόνlaonpeople ὅτιhoti- πάντεςpantesvvv ἐδόξαζονedoxazonwere glorifying τὸνton- ΘεὸνTheonGod ἐπὶepifor τῷwhat γεγονότιgegonotihad happened .
22ἐτῶνetōnyears [old] . γὰρgarFor ἦνēnwas πλειόνωνpleionōnover τεσσαράκονταtessarakonta[where for] forty hothe ἄνθρωποςanthrōposman ἐφ’eph’- ὃνhonwho ἐγεγόνειegegoneiIt was τὸto- σημεῖονsēmeionwas miraculously τοῦτοtouto- τῆςtēs- ἰάσεωςiaseōshealed
23ἈπολυθέντεςApolythentesOn their release , δὲde- ἦλθονēlthon[Peter and John] returned πρὸςprosto τοὺςtous[their] ἰδίουςidiousown people καὶkaiand ἀπήγγειλανapēngeilanreported ὅσαhosaeverything that πρὸςprosto αὐτοὺςautousthem . οἱhoi- ἀρχιερεῖςarchiereischief priests καὶkaiand οἱhoi- πρεσβύτεροιpresbyteroielders εἰπώνeipōnspoke
24οἱhoiThe δὲde[When] ἀκούσαντεςakousantes[the believers] heard this , ὁμοθυμαδὸνhomothymadonwith one accord . ἦρανēranthey lifted up φωνὴνphōnēn[their] voices πρὸςprosto τὸνton- ΘεὸνTheonGod καὶkai- εἰπώνeipōnspoke ΔέσποταDespota“ Sovereign Lord , ” σὺsy“ You ho- ποιήσαςpoiēsasmade τὸνtonthe οὐρανὸνouranonheaven καὶkaiand τὴνtēnthe γῆνgēnearth καὶkaiand τὴνtēnthe θάλασσανthalassansea καὶkaiand πάνταpantaeverything τὰta- ἐνenin αὐτοῖςautoisthem .
25ho[You] διὰdiaby στόματοςstomatosthrough [the] mouth ΔαυὶδDauidDavid παιδόςpaidosservant , σουsouof Your εἰπώνeipōnspoke ἵναhinato ΤίTi“ What ἐφρύαξανephryaxanrage ἔθνηethnē{do} the nations καὶkaiand λαοὶlaoi[the] peoples ἐμελέτησανemeletēsanplot κενάkenain vain ?
26παρέστησανparestēsantake [their] stand οἱhoithe βασιλεῖςbasileiskings τῆςtēsof the γῆςgēsearth καὶkaiand οἱhoithe ἄρχοντεςarchontesrulers συνήχθησανsynēchthēsangather ἐπὶepitogether τὸto. . . αὐτὸauto. . . κατὰkataagainst τοῦtouthe ΚυρίουKyriouLord καὶkaiand κατὰkataagainst τοῦtou- ΧριστοῦChristouAnointed One .’ αὐτοῦautouHis
27συνήχθησανsynēchthēsangather γὰρgar- ἐπ’ep’In ἀληθείαςalētheiasfact , ἐπὶepitogether τὸνton- ἅγιονhagionholy ΠαῖδάPaidaservant σουsouYour ἸησοῦνIēsounJesus , ὃνhonwhom ἔχρισαςechrisasYou anointed . ἩρῴδηςHērōdēsHerod τεtevvv καὶkaiand ΠόντιοςPontiosPontius ΠιλᾶτοςPilatosPilate σὺνsynwith ἔθνεσιethnesiGentiles καὶkaiand λαοῖςlaois[the] people ἸσραήλIsraēlof Israel
28ποιῆσαιpoiēsaiThey carried out ὅσαhosawhat - χείρcheirhand σουsouYour καὶkaiand - βουλὴboulēwill [σου]sou- προώρισεproorisehad decided beforehand γενέσθαιgenesthaiwould happen .
29καὶkaiAnd τὰta- νῦνnynnow , ΚύριεKyrieLord , ἔπιδεepideconsider ἐπὶepi. . . τὰςtas- ἀπειλὰςapeilasthreats , αὐτῶνautōntheir καὶkaiand δὸςdosenable τοῖςtois- δούλοιςdouloisservants σουsouYour μετὰmetawith παρρησίαςparrēsiasboldness , πάσηςpasēscomplete λαλεῖνlaleinto speak τὸνton- λόγονlogonword σουsouYour
30ἐνenas τῷ. . . τὴνtēn- χεῖράcheirahand ‹σου›souYour ἐκτείνεινekteineinstretch out σεseYou εἰςeisto ἴασινiasinheal καὶkaiand σημεῖαsēmeiasigns καὶkaiand τέραταteratawonders γίνεσθαιginesthai[perform] διὰdiathrough τοῦtouthe ὀνόματοςonomatosname τοῦtouthe ἁγίουhagiouholy ΠαιδόςPaidosservant σουsouof Your ἸησοῦIēsouJesus . ”
31ΚαὶKai[After] δεηθέντωνdeēthentōnhad prayed , αὐτῶνautōnthey ἐσαλεύθηesaleuthēwas shaken , . . . τόποςtoposplace ἐνen. . . . . . ἦσανēsan[their] συνηγμένοιsynēgmenoimeeting καὶkaiand ἐπλήσθησανeplēsthēsanthey were all filled with ἅπαντεςhapantesvvv ΠνεύματοςPneumatosSpirit ἉγίουHagiouHoly καὶkaiand ἐλάλουνelalounspoke τὸνtonthe λόγονlogonword τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God μετὰmetavvv παρρησίαςparrēsiasboldly .
32ΤοῦTouThe δὲde- πλήθουςplēthousmultitude τῶνtōnof πιστευσάντωνpisteusantōnbelievers ἦνēnwas ēor καρδίαkardia[in] heart καὶkaiand ēor ψυχὴpsychēsoul . μίαmiaone καὶkaiand οὐδὲoudeNo εἷςheisone τιtiany τῶνtōnof ὑπαρχόντωνhyparchontōnpossessions αὐτῷautōhis ἔλεγενelegenclaimed that ἴδιονidionhis own , εἶναιeinaiwas ἀλλ’all’but ἦνēnthey shared αὐτοῖςautois. . . ἅπανταhapantaall κοινάkoina. . .
33καὶkai- μεγάλῃmegalē[With] great δυνάμειdynameipower ἀπεδίδουνapedidouncontinued to give τὸto[their] μαρτύριονmartyriontestimony οἱhoithe ἀπόστολοιapostoloiapostles «τῆςtēsabout the ἀναστάσεως»anastaseōsresurrection «τοῦtouof the ΚυρίουKyriouLord Ἰησοῦ»IēsouJesus . χάριςcharisgrace τεteAnd μεγάληmegalēabundant ἦνēnwas ἐπὶepiupon πάνταςpantasall . αὐτούςautousthem
34ΟὐδὲOudeno γὰρgar- ἐνδεήςendeēsneedy τιςtisones ὑπῆρχενhypērchen- ἐνenamong αὐτοῖςautoisthem , ὅσοιhosoithose who γὰρgarbecause κτήτορεςktētoresowned χωρίωνchōriōnlands ēor οἰκιῶνoikiōnhouses ὑπῆρχονhypērchonvvv πωλοῦντεςpōlounteswould sell [ their property ] , ἔφερονepheronbring τὰςtasthe τιμὰςtimasproceeds τῶνtōnfrom πιπρασκομένωνpipraskomenōn[the] sales , καὶkaiand ἐτίθουνetithounlay [them] παρὰparaat τοὺςtousthe πόδαςpodasfeet τῶνtōnvvv ἀποστόλωνapostolōnapostles’
35διεδίδοτοdiedidotofor distribution δὲde- ἑκάστῳhekastō[to] καθότιkathotias ἄνan. . . τιςtisanyone χρείανchreianneed . εἶχενeichenhe had
36ἸωσὴςiosesJoses δὲde- howhom ἐπικληθεὶςepiklētheiscalled ΒαρνάβαςBarnabasBarnabas ὑπὸhypounder τὸνton- ἀποστόλωνapostolōnapostles’ howhom ἐστίestiI have μεθερμηνευόμενονmethermēneuomenonmeaning ΥἱὸςHuiosSon παρακλήσεωςparaklēseōsof Encouragement ), ΛευίτηςLeuitēsa Levite ΚύπριοςKypriosfrom Cyprus τῷ. . . γένειgenei. . . ,
37ὑπάρχοντοςhyparchontosowned , αὐτῷautōhe ἀγροῦagroua field πωλήσαςpōlēsassold ἤνεγκεenegke[The man] brought τὸtothe χρῆμαchrēmamoney , καὶkaiand ἔθηκεethekelaid παρὰparaat τοὺςtousthe πόδαςpodasfeet τῶνtōnvvv ἀποστόλωνapostolōnapostles’
