2ἕκαστοςhekastosEach ἡμῶνhēmōnof us τῷtō[his] πλησίονplēsionneighbor ἀρεσκέτωaresketōshould please εἰςeisfor τὸto[his] ἀγαθὸνagathongood , πρὸςprosto οἰκοδομήνoikodomēnbuild [him] up .

3καὶkaieven γὰρgarFor ὁho- ΧριστὸςChristosChrist οὐχouch{did} not ἑαυτῷheautōHimself , ἤρεσενēresenplease ἀλλὰallabut καθὼςkathōsas γέγραπταιgegraptaiit is written : ΟἱHoi“ The ὀνειδισμοὶoneidismoiinsults τῶνtōnof those who ὀνειδιζόντωνoneidizontōninsult σεseYou ἐπέπεσονepepesonhave fallen ἐπ’ep’on ἐμέemeMe .”

5ὉHo{may} the δὲdeNow ΘεὸςTheosGod τῆςtēs- ὑπομονῆςhypomonēs[who gives] endurance καὶkaiand τῆςtēs- παρακλήσεωςparaklēseōsencouragement δῴηdōēgrant ὑμῖνhyminyou τὸtovvv αὐτὸautovvv φρονεῖνphroneinharmony ἐνenwith ἀλλήλοιςallēloisone another κατὰkatain ΧριστὸνChristonChrist ἸησοῦνIēsounJesus ,

6ἵναhinaso that ὁμοθυμαδὸνhomothymadonwith one mind ἐνen[and] ἑνὶhenione στόματιstomativoice δοξάζητεdoxazēteyou may glorify τὸνtonthe ΘεὸνTheonGod καὶkaiand ΠατέραPateraFather τοῦtou- ΚυρίουKyriouLord ἡμῶνhēmōnof our ἸησοῦIēsouJesus ΧριστοῦChristouChrist .

7ΔιὸDiothen , προσλαμβάνεσθεproslambanestheAccept ἀλλήλουςallēlousone another , καθὼςkathōsas καὶkaijust ὁho- ΧριστὸςChristosChrist προσελάβετοproselabetoaccepted ἡμᾶςhēmasus , εἰςeisin order to bring δόξανdoxanglory ΘεοῦTheouto God .

8λέγωlegōI tell [you that] δὲde[so that] ΧριστὸνChristonChrist ἸησοῦνIēsounJesus , διάκονονdiakonona servant γεγενῆσθαιgegenēsthaihas become περιτομῆςperitomēsof [the] circumcised ὑπὲρhyperon behalf of ἀληθείαςalētheiastruth , ΘεοῦTheouGod’s εἰςeisto τὸto- βεβαιῶσαιbebaiōsaiconfirm τὰςtasthe ἐπαγγελίαςepangeliaspromises made τῶνtōnto the πατέρωνpaterōnpatriarchs ,

9τὰtathe δὲde[so that] ἔθνηethnēGentiles ὑπὲρhyperfor [His] ἐλέουςeleousmercy . δοξάσαιdoxasaimay glorify τὸνton- ΘεόνTheonGod καθὼςkathōsAs γέγραπταιgegraptaiit is written : ΔιὰDia“ Therefore τοῦτοtouto. . . ἐξομολογήσομαίexomologēsomaiI will praise σοιsoiYou ἐνenamong ἔθνεσι,ethnesiGentiles ΚύριεKyrie‘ Lord , καὶkai- τῷtōto ὀνόματίonomatiname .” σουsouYour ψαλῶpsalōI will sing hymns

10καὶkai- πάλινpalinAgain , λέγειlegeiit says : ΕὐφράνθητεEuphranthēte“ Rejoice , ἔθνηethnēO Gentiles , μετὰmetawith τοῦtou- λαοῦlaoupeople .” αὐτοῦautouHis

11ΚαὶKaiAnd πάλινpalinagain : ΑἰνεῖτεAineite“ Praise τὸνtonthe ΚύριονKyrionLord , πάνταpantaall τὰta[you] ἔθνηethnēGentiles , καὶkaiand ἐπαινσατεepainsateextol αὐτὸνautonHim , πάντεςpantesall οἱhoi[you] λαοίlaoipeoples .”

12ΚαὶKaiAnd πάλινpalinonce more , ἨσαΐαςĒsaiasIsaiah λέγειlegeisays : ἜσταιEstaiwill appear , ἡhē“ The ῥίζαrhizaRoot τοῦtou- ἸεσσαίIessaiof Jesse καὶkai- ὁho[One who] ἀνιστάμενοςanistamenoswill arise ἄρχεινarcheinto rule over ἐθνῶνethnōn[the] Gentiles ; ἐπ’ep’in αὐτῷautōHim ἔθνηethnē[the] Gentiles ἐλπιοῦσινelpiousinwill put their hope .”

13ὉHo{may} the δὲdeNow ΘεὸςTheosGod τῆςtēs- ἐλπίδοςelpidosof hope πληρώσαιplērōsaifill ὑμᾶςhymasyou πάσηςpasēswith all χαρᾶςcharasjoy καὶkaiand εἰρήνηςeirēnēspeace ἐνenas you τῷtō- πιστεύεινpisteueinbelieve [in Him] , εἰςeisso that τὸto- περισσεύεινperisseueinmay overflow ὑμᾶςhymasyou ἐνenwith τῇtē- ἐλπίδιelpidihope ἐνenby δυνάμειdynamei[the] power ΠνεύματοςPneumatosSpirit . 16εἰςeis- τὸto- εἶναίeinaito be μεme- λειτουργὸνleitourgona minister ἸησοῦIēsouJesus ΧριστοῦChristouof Christ εἰςeisto τὰtathe ἔθνηethnēGentiles ἱερουργοῦνταhierourgountain the priestly service τὸtoof the εὐαγγέλιονeuangeliongospel τοῦtou- ΘεοῦTheouof God , ἵναhinaso that γένηταιgenētaimight become ἡhē- προσφορὰprosphora[an] offering τῶνtōnthe ἐθνῶνethnōnGentiles εὐπρόσδεκτοςeuprosdektosacceptable [to God] , ἡγιασμένηhēgiasmenēsanctified ἐνenby ΠνεύματιPneumatiSpirit . 17ἜχωEchōvvv οὖνounTherefore καύχησινkauchēsinI exult ἐνenin ΧριστῷChristōChrist ἸησοῦIēsouJesus τὰtain [ my service ] πρὸςprosto τὸνton- ΘεόνTheonGod .

18οὐouvvv γὰρgar- τολμήσωtolmēsōI will not presume λαλεῖνlaleinto speak τιtiof anything ὧνhōnwhat οὐouexcept κατειργάσατοkateirgasatohas accomplished ΧριστὸςChristosChrist δι’di’through ἐμοῦemoume εἰςeisin leading ὑπακοὴνhypakoēnto obedience ἐθνῶνethnōn[the] Gentiles λόγῳlogōby word καὶkaiand ἔργῳergōdeed ,

19ἐνenby δυνάμειdynamei[the] power σημείωνsēmeiōnof signs καὶkaiand τεράτωνteratōnwonders , ἐνen[and] by δυνάμειdynamei[the] power ΠνεύματοςPneumatosof [the] Spirit [θεοῦ]theouof God . ὥστεhōsteSo μεmeI ἀπὸapofrom ἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēmJerusalem καὶkaiall the way κύκλῳkyklōaround μέχριmechrito τοῦtou- ἸλλυρικοῦIllyrikouIllyricum , πεπληρωκέναιpeplērōkenaihave fully proclaimed τὸtothe εὐαγγέλιονeuangeliongospel τοῦtou- ΧριστοῦChristouof Christ .

20οὕτωhoutōso δὲde- φιλοτιμούμενονphilotimoumenonI have aspired εὐαγγελίζεσθαιeuangelizesthaito preach the gospel οὐχouchvvv ὅπουhopouwhere ὠνομάσθηōnomasthēwas not known , ΧριστόςChristosChrist ἵναhinaso that μὴmēvvv ἐπ’ep’on ἀλλότριονallotrionsomeone [else’s] θεμέλιονthemelionfoundation . οἰκοδομῶoikodomōI would not be building

21ἀλλὰallaRather , καθὼςkathōsas γέγραπταιgegraptaiit is written : «οἷςhois“ Those who οὐκoukvvv ἀνηγγέληanēngelēwere not told περὶperiabout αὐτοῦ»autouHim ὌψονταιOpsontaiwill see , καὶkaiand οἳhoithose who οὐκoukvvv ἀκηκόασιakekoasihave not heard συνήσουσι.sunesousiwill understand .”

22ΔιὸDioThat is why καὶkai- ἐνεκοπτόμηνenekoptomēnI have often been hindered τὰta. . . πολλὰpolla. . . τοῦtou- ἐλθεῖνeltheinfrom coming πρὸςprosto ὑμᾶςhymasyou .

23ΝυνὶNyninow that δὲdeBut μηκέτιmēketi[there are] no further τόπονtoponopportunities ἔχωνechōnfor me ἐνenin τοῖςtois- κλίμασιklimasiregions , τούτοιςtoutoisthese ἐπιποθίανepipothianlonged δὲdeand ἔχωνechōnsince I have τοῦtou- ἐλθεῖνeltheinto visit πρὸςpros. . . ὑμᾶςhymasyou , ἀπὸapofor πολλῶνpollōnthan many ἐτῶνetōnyears

26εὐδόκησαν*eudokēsanwere pleased γὰρgarFor ΜακεδονίαMakedoniaMacedonia καὶkaiand ἈχαΐαAchaiaAchaia κοινωνίανkoinōniancontribution τινὰtinaa ποιήσασθαιpoiēsasthaito make εἰςeisfor τοὺςtousthe πτωχοὺςptōchouspoor τῶνtōnamong the ἁγίωνhagiōnsaints τῶνtōn- ἐνenin ἸερουσαλήμIerousalēmJerusalem .

27εὐδόκησαν*eudokēsanThey were pleased [to do it] , γάρgarindeed καὶkaiand ὀφειλέταιopheiletaiowe it αὐτῶνautōnto them . εἰσὶνeisinthey εἰeiif γὰρgarFor τοῖςtois[blessings] , πνευματικοῖςpneumatikoisspiritual αὐτῶνautōntheir ἐκοινώνησανekoinōnēsanhave shared in τὰtathe ἔθνηethnēGentiles ὀφείλουσιopheilousithey are obligated καὶkai. . . ἐνenwith τοῖςtois- σαρκικοῖςsarkikoismaterial [blessings] . λειτουργῆσαιleitourgēsaito minister αὐτοῖςautoisto them

28ΤοῦτοToutothis [service] οὖνounSo ἐπιτελέσαςepitelesasafter I have completed καὶkaiand σφραγισάμενοςsphragisamenoshave safely delivered αὐτοῖςautoisto them , τὸνton- καρπὸνkarponbounty τοῦτονtoutonthis ἀπελεύσομαιapeleusomaiI will set off δι’di’by way of ὑμῶνhymōnyou . εἰςeisto τὴνtēn- ΣπανίανSpanianSpain .

29οἶδαoidaI know δὲde- ὅτιhotithat ἐρχόμενοςerchomenoswhen I come πρὸςprosto ὑμᾶςhymasyou , ἐνenin πληρώματιplērōmati[the] fullness εὐλογίαςeulogiasof the blessing τοῦtou- εὐαγγελίουeuangeliougospel ΧριστοῦChristouChrist ἐλεύσομαιeleusomaiI will come

30ΠαρακαλῶParakalōI urge δὲdeNow ὑμᾶςhymasyou , ἀδελφοίadelphoibrothers , διὰdiaby τοῦtou- ΚυρίουKyriouLord ἡμῶνhēmōnour ἸησοῦIēsouJesus ΧριστοῦChristouChrist καὶkaiand διὰdiaby τῆςtēsthe ἀγάπηςagapēslove τοῦtouof the ΠνεύματοςPneumatosSpirit , συναγωνίσασθαίsynagōnisasthaito join me in my struggle μοιmoi. . . ἐνenby ταῖςtais- προσευχαῖςproseuchaispraying ὑπὲρhyperfor ἐμοῦemoume . πρὸςprosto τὸνton- ΘεόνTheonGod

31ἵναhina[Pray] that ῥυσθῶrhysthōI may be delivered ἀπὸapofrom τῶνtōnthe ἀπειθούντωνapeithountōnunbelievers ἐνenin τῇtē- ἸουδαίᾳIoudaiaJudea , καὶkaiand [that] ἵναhina[Pray] that ἡhē- διακονίαdiakoniaservice μουmoumy ἡhē- εἰςeisin ἸερουσαλὴμIerousalēmJerusalem εὐπρόσδεκτοςeuprosdektosacceptable γένηταιgenētaimay be τοῖςtoisto the ἁγίοιςhagioissaints [there] ,

32ἵναhinaso that ἐνenwith χαρᾷcharajoy ἔλθωelthothey came πρὸςprosto ὑμᾶςhymasyou διὰdiaby θελήματοςthelēmatoswill ΘεοῦTheouGod’s καὶkaiand [that] συναναπαύσωμαιsynanapausōmaiand together with you be refreshed ὑμῖνhymin. . . .

33ὉHoThe δὲde- ΘεὸςTheosGod τῆςtēs- εἰρήνηςeirēnēsof peace μετὰmeta[be] with πάντωνpantōnall ὑμῶνhymōnof you . ἀμήνamēnAmen .
