38וַיִּֽשְׁפְּכ֨וּוַיִּֽשְׁפְּכוּוישפכוway·yiš·pə·ḵūThey shed דָ֪םדָםדםḏāmblood — נָקִ֡ינָקִינקיnā·qîinnocent דַּם־דַּם־דםdam-the blood בְּנֵ֘יהֶ֤םבְּנֵיהֶםבניהםbə·nê·hemof their sons וּֽבְנוֹתֵיהֶ֗םוּֽבְנוֹתֵיהֶםובנותיהםū·ḇə·nō·w·ṯê·hemand daughters , אֲשֶׁ֣ראֲשֶׁראשר’ă·šerwhom זִ֭בְּחוּזִבְּחוּזבחוzib·bə·ḥūthey sacrificed לַעֲצַבֵּ֣ילַעֲצַבֵּילעצביla·‘ă·ṣab·bêto the idols כְנָ֑עַןכְנָעַןכנעןḵə·nā·‘anof Canaan , וַתֶּחֱנַ֥ףוַתֶּחֱנַףותחנףwat·te·ḥĕ·nap̄was polluted הָ֝אָ֗רֶץהָאָרֶץהארץhā·’ā·reṣand the land בַּדָּמִֽים׃בַּדָּמִֽים׃בדמיםbad·dā·mîmwith blood .
