3וַיֹּאמֶרוַיֹּאמֶרויאמרway·yō·mɛrAnd I told לָהֶ֗םלָהֶםלהםlā·hemthem , לֹ֣אלֹאלאlō“ Do not יִפָּֽתְח֞וּיִפָּֽתְחוּיפתחוyip·pā·ṯə·ḥūopen שַׁעֲרֵ֤ישַׁעֲרֵישעריša·‘ă·rêthe gates יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙יְרוּשָׁלִַםירושלםyə·rū·šā·limof Jerusalem עַד־עַד־עד‘aḏ-until חֹ֣םחֹםחםḥōmis hot . הַשֶּׁ֔מֶשׁהַשֶּׁמֶשׁהשמשhaš·še·mešthe sun וְעַ֨דוְעַדועדwə·‘aḏWhile הֵ֥םהֵםהםhêmthe guards עֹמְדִ֛יםעֹמְדִיםעמדים‘ō·mə·ḏîmare on duty , יָגִ֥יפוּיָגִיפוּיגיפוyā·ḡî·p̄ūshut הַדְּלָת֖וֹתהַדְּלָתוֹתהדלתותhad·də·lā·ṯō·wṯkeep the doors וֶאֱחֹ֑זוּוֶאֱחֹזוּואחזוwe·’ĕ·ḥō·zūand securely fastened . וְהַעֲמֵ֗ידוְהַעֲמֵידוהעמידwə·ha·‘ă·mêḏAnd appoint מִשְׁמְרוֹת֙מִשְׁמְרוֹתמשמרותmiš·mə·rō·wṯas guards , יֹשְׁבֵ֣ייֹשְׁבֵיישביyō·šə·ḇêthe residents יְרוּשָׁלִַ֔םיְרוּשָׁלִַםירושלםyə·rū·šā·limof Jerusalem אִ֚ישׁאִישׁאיש’îšsome בְּמִשְׁמָר֔וֹבְּמִשְׁמָרוֹבמשמרוbə·miš·mā·rōwat their posts וְאִ֖ישׁוְאִישׁואישwə·’îšand some נֶ֥גֶדנֶגֶדנגדne·ḡeḏat בֵּיתֽוֹ׃בֵּיתֽוֹ׃ביתוbê·ṯōwtheir own homes . ”
