בְּרֵאשִׁיתבְּרֵאשִׁיתבראשיתbə·rê·šîṯIn the beginning פֶּרֶקפֶּרֶקפרקpeɾekchapter יוֹדיוֹדיודjʊdten בֵּיתבֵּיתביתbɛttwo
8וַיַּעְתֵּ֨קוַיַּעְתֵּקויעתקway·ya‘·têq[Abram] moved on מִשָּׁ֜םמִשָּׁםמשםmiš·šāmFrom there הָהָ֗רָההָהָרָהההרהhā·hā·rāhto the hill country מִקֶּ֛דֶםמִקֶּדֶםמקדםmiq·qe·ḏemeast לְבֵֽית־לְבֵֽית־לביתlə·ḇêṯ-of אֵ֖לאֵלאל’êlBethel וַיֵּ֣טוַיֵּטויטway·yêṭand pitched אָהֳלֹ֑האָהֳלֹהאהלהʾå̄·ho·lōhhis tent , בֵּֽית־בֵּֽית־ביתbêṯ-with Bethel אֵ֤לאֵלאל’êl. . . מִיָּם֙מִיָּםמיםmî·yāmto the west וְהָעַ֣יוְהָעַיוהעיwə·hā·‘ayand Ai מִקֶּ֔דֶםמִקֶּדֶםמקדםmiq·qe·ḏemto the east . וַיִּֽבֶן־וַיִּֽבֶן־ויבןway·yi·ḇen-he built שָׁ֤םשָׁםשםšāmThere מִזְבֵּ֙חַ֙מִזְבֵּחַמזבחmiz·bê·aḥan altar לַֽיהוָ֔הלַֽיהוָהליהוהYah·wehto the LORD , וַיִּקְרָ֖אוַיִּקְרָאויקראway·yiq·rāand he called בְּשֵׁ֥םבְּשֵׁםבשםbə·šêmon the name יְהוָֽה׃יְהוָֽה׃יהוהYah·wehof the LORD .
