בְּרֵאשִׁיתבְּרֵאשִׁיתבראשיתbə·rê·šîṯIn the beginning פֶּרֶקפֶּרֶקפרקpeɾekchapter יוֹדיוֹדיודjʊdten אָלֶףאָלֶףאלףʔalefone
9עַל־עַל־על‘al-That is why כֵּ֞ןכֵּןכןkên. . . קָרָ֤אקָרָאקראqā·rāis called שְׁמָהּ֙שְׁמָהּשמהšə·māhit בָּבֶ֔לבָּבֶלבבלbā·ḇelBabel , כִּי־כִּי־כיkî-for שָׁ֛םשָׁםשםšāmthere בָּלַ֥לבָּלַלבללbā·lalconfused יְהוָ֖היְהוָהיהוהYah·wehthe LORD שְׂפַ֣תשְׂפַתשפתśə·p̄aṯthe language כָּל־כָּל־כלkāl-of the whole הָאָ֑רֶץהָאָרֶץהארץhā·’ā·reṣworld , וּמִשָּׁם֙וּמִשָּׁםומשםū·miš·šāmand from that place הֱפִיצָ֣םהֱפִיצָםהפיצםhĕ·p̄î·ṣāmscattered them יְהוָ֔היְהוָהיהוהYah·wehthe LORD עַל־עַל־על‘al-over פְּנֵ֖יפְּנֵיפניpə·nêthe face כָּל־כָּל־כלkāl-of all הָאָֽרֶץ׃פהָאָֽרֶץ׃פהארץפhā·’ā·reṣthe earth .
