2וְהָאָ֗רֶץוְהָאָרֶץוהארץwə·hā·’ā·reṣNow the earth הָיְתָ֥ההָיְתָההיתהhā·yə·ṯāhwas תֹ֙הוּ֙תֹהוּתהוṯō·hūformless וָבֹ֔הוּוָבֹהוּובהוwā·ḇō·hūand void , וְחֹ֖שֶׁךְוְחֹשֶׁךְוחשךwə·ḥō·šeḵand darkness עַל־עַל־על‘al-was over פְּנֵ֣יפְּנֵיפניpə·nêthe surface תְה֑וֹםתְהוֹםתהוםṯə·hō·wmof the deep . וְר֣וּחַוְרוּחַורוחwə·rū·aḥAnd the Spirit אֱלֹהִ֔יםאֱלֹהִיםאלהים’ĕ·lō·hîmof God מְרַחֶ֖פֶתמְרַחֶפֶתמרחפתmə·ra·ḥe·p̄eṯwas hovering עַל־עַל־על‘al-over פְּנֵ֥יפְּנֵיפניpə·nêthe surface הַמָּֽיִם׃הַמָּֽיִם׃המיםham·mā·yimof the waters .
