1וַתְּהִ֤יוַתְּהִיותהיwat·tə·hîwas הַמִּלְחָמָה֙הַמִּלְחָמָההמלחמהham·mil·ḥā·māhNow the war אֲרֻכָּ֔האֲרֻכָּהארכה’ă·ruk·kāhprotracted . בֵּ֚יןבֵּיןביןbênbetween בֵּ֣יתבֵּיתביתbêṯthe house שָׁא֔וּלשָׁאוּלשאולšā·’ūlof Saul וּבֵ֖יןוּבֵיןוביןū·ḇên. . . בֵּ֣יתבֵּיתביתbêṯand the house דָּוִ֑דדָּוִדדודdā·wiḏof David וְדָוִד֙וְדָוִדודודwə·ḏā·wiḏAnd David הֹלֵ֣ךְהֹלֵךְהלךhō·lêḵgrew [stronger] וְחָזֵ֔קוְחָזֵקוחזקwə·ḥā·zêqand stronger , וּבֵ֥יתוּבֵיתוביתū·ḇêṯwhile the house שָׁא֖וּלשָׁאוּלשאולšā·’ūlof Saul הֹלְכִ֥יםהֹלְכִיםהלכיםhō·lə·ḵîmgrew [weaker] וְדַלִּֽים׃סוְדַלִּֽים׃סודליםסwə·ḏal·lîmand weaker .
