34וַיִּבְרַ֖חוַיִּבְרַחויברחway·yiḇ·raḥhad fled . אַבְשָׁל֑וֹםאַבְשָׁלוֹםאבשלום’aḇ·šā·lō·wmMeanwhile, Absalom וַיִּשָּׂ֞אוַיִּשָּׂאוישאway·yiś·śālooked up הַנַּ֤עַרהַנַּעַרהנערhan·na·‘arWhen the young man הַצֹּפֶה֙הַצֹּפֶההצפהhaṣ·ṣō·p̄ehstanding watch אֶת־אֶת־את’eṯ-- עֵינוֹעֵינוֹעינוʿē·nō. . . , וַיַּ֗רְאוַיַּרְאויראway·yarhe saw וְהִנֵּ֨הוְהִנֵּהוהנהwə·hin·nêh- עַם־עַם־עם‘am-people רַ֜ברַברבraḇmany הֹלְכִ֥יםהֹלְכִיםהלכיםhō·lə·ḵîmcoming מִדֶּ֛רֶךְמִדֶּרֶךְמדרךmid·de·reḵdown the road אַחֲרָ֖יואַחֲרָיואחריו’a·ḥă·rāwwest of him , מִצַּ֥דמִצַּדמצדmiṣ·ṣaḏalong the side הָהָֽר׃הָהָֽר׃ההרhā·hārof the hill. And the watchman went and reported to the king, “I see men coming from the direction of Horonaim, along the side of the hill .”
