שְׁמוּאֵלשְׁמוּאֵלשמואלšə·mū·’êlSamuel בֵּיתבֵּיתביתbɛttwo פֶּרֶקפֶּרֶקפרקpeɾekchapter יוֹדיוֹדיודjʊdten
8וַיֵּֽצְאוּ֙וַיֵּֽצְאוּויצאוway·yê·ṣə·’ūmarched out בְּנֵ֣יבְּנֵיבניbə·nêThe Ammonites עַמּ֔וֹןעַמּוֹןעמון‘am·mō·wn. . . וַיַּעַרְכ֥וּוַיַּעַרְכוּויערכוway·ya·‘ar·ḵūand arrayed themselves מִלְחָמָ֖המִלְחָמָהמלחמהmil·ḥā·māhfor battle פֶּ֣תַחפֶּתַחפתחpe·ṯaḥat the entrance הַשָּׁ֑עַרהַשָּׁעַרהשערhaš·šā·‘arof the city gate , וַאֲרַ֨םוַאֲרַםוארםwa·’ă·ramwhile the Arameans צוֹבָ֤אצוֹבָאצובאṣō·w·ḇāof Zobah וּרְחוֹב֙וּרְחוֹבורחובū·rə·ḥō·wḇand Rehob וְאִֽישׁ־וְאִֽישׁ־ואישwə·’îš-and the men ט֣וֹבטוֹבטובṭō·wḇof Tob וּמַֽעֲכָ֔הוּמַֽעֲכָהומעכהū·ma·‘ă·ḵāhand Maacah לְבַדָּ֖םלְבַדָּםלבדםlə·ḇad·dāmwere by themselves בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃בַּשָּׂדֶֽה׃בשדהbaś·śā·ḏehin the open country .
