18וַיָּבֹ֣אוּוַיָּבֹאוּויבאוway·yā·ḇō·’ūwent כָל־כָל־כלḵālSo all עַם֩עַםעם‘amthe people הָאָ֨רֶץהָאָרֶץהארץhā·’ā·reṣof the land בֵּית־בֵּית־ביתbêṯ-to the temple הַבַּ֜עַלהַבַּעַלהבעלhab·ba·‘alof Baal וַֽיִּתְּצֻ֗הוּוַֽיִּתְּצֻהוּויתצהוway·yit·tə·ṣu·hūand tore it down . אֶת־אֶת־את’eṯ-- מִזְבְּחֹתוֹמִזְבְּחֹתוֹמזבחתוmiz·bə·ḥō·ṯōThey smashed the altars וְאֶת־וְאֶת־ואתwə·’eṯ-- צְלָמָיו֙צְלָמָיוצלמיוṣə·lā·māwand idols שִׁבְּר֣וּשִׁבְּרוּשברוšib·bə·rūto pieces הֵיטֵ֔בהֵיטֵבהיטבhê·ṭêḇ. . . , וְאֵ֗תוְאֵתואתwə·’êṯ- מַתָּן֙מַתָּןמתןmat·tānMattan כֹּהֵ֣ןכֹּהֵןכהןkō·hênthe priest הַבַּ֔עַלהַבַּעַלהבעלhab·ba·‘alof Baal הָרְג֖וּהָרְגוּהרגוhā·rə·ḡūand they killed לִפְנֵ֣ילִפְנֵילפניlip̄·nêin front of הַֽמִּזְבְּח֑וֹתהַֽמִּזְבְּחוֹתהמזבחותham·miz·bə·ḥō·wṯthe altars . וַיָּ֧שֶׂםוַיָּשֶׂםוישםway·yā·śemposted הַכֹּהֵ֛ןהַכֹּהֵןהכהןhak·kō·hênAnd Jehoiada the priest פְּקֻדּ֖וֹתפְּקֻדּוֹתפקדותpə·qud·dō·wṯguards עַל־עַל־על‘al-for בֵּ֥יתבֵּיתביתbêṯthe house יְהוָֽה׃יְהוָֽה׃יהוהYah·wehof the LORD .
