23וַיְהִ֣י׀וַיְהִי׀ויהיway·hî- לִתְקוּפַ֣תלִתְקוּפַתלתקופתliṯ·qū·p̄aṯIn the spring הַשָּׁנָ֗ההַשָּׁנָההשנהhaš·šā·nāh. . . , עָלָ֣העָלָהעלה‘ā·lāhwent to war עָלָיו֮עָלָיועליו‘ā·lāwagainst Joash . חֵ֣ילחֵילחילḥêl. . . אֲרָם֒אֲרָםארם’ă·rāmthe army of Aram וַיָּבֹ֗אוּוַיָּבֹאוּויבאוway·yā·ḇō·’ūThey entered אֶל־אֶל־אל’el-. . . יְהוּדָה֙יְהוּדָהיהודהyə·hū·ḏāhJudah וִיר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔םוִירוּשָׁלִַםוירושלםwî·rū·šā·limand Jerusalem וַיַּשְׁחִ֛יתוּוַיַּשְׁחִיתוּוישחיתוway·yaš·ḥî·ṯūand destroyed אֶת־אֶת־את’eṯ-- כָּל־כָּל־כלkāl-all שָׂרֵ֥ישָׂרֵישריśā·rêthe leaders הָעָ֖םהָעָםהעםhā·‘āmof the people מֵעָ֑םמֵעָםמעםmê·‘ām- , וְכָל־וְכָל־וכלwə·ḵālall שְׁלָלָ֥םשְׁלָלָםשללםšə·lā·lāmthe plunder שִׁלְּח֖וּשִׁלְּחוּשלחוšil·lə·ḥūand they sent לְמֶ֥לֶךְלְמֶלֶךְלמלךlə·me·leḵto their king דַּרְמָֽשֶׂק׃דַּרְמָֽשֶׂק׃דרמשקdar·mā·śeqin Damascus .
