שְׁמוּאֵלשְׁמוּאֵלשמואלšə·mū·’êlSamuel אָלֶףאָלֶףאלףʔalefone פֶּרֶקפֶּרֶקפרקpeɾekchapter הֵאהֵאהאhɛɪfive
4וַיַּשְׁכִּ֣מוּוַיַּשְׁכִּמוּוישכמוway·yaš·ki·mūBut when they got up early בַבֹּקֶר֮בַבֹּקֶרבבקרḇab·bō·qermorning , מִֽמָּחֳרָת֒מִֽמָּחֳרָתממחרתmim·mā·ḥo·rāṯthe next וְהִנֵּ֣הוְהִנֵּהוהנהwə·hin·nêhthere דָג֗וֹןדָגוֹןדגוןḏā·ḡō·wnwas Dagon , נֹפֵ֤לנֹפֵלנפלnō·p̄êlfallen לְפָנָיו֙לְפָנָיולפניוlə·p̄ā·nāwon his face אַ֔רְצָהאַרְצָהארצה’ar·ṣāh. . . לִפְנֵ֖ילִפְנֵילפניlip̄·nêbefore אֲר֣וֹןאֲרוֹןארון’ă·rō·wnthe ark יְהוָ֑היְהוָהיהוהYah·wehof the LORD , וְרֹ֨אשׁוְרֹאשׁוראשwə·rōšwith [his] head דָּג֜וֹןדָּגוֹןדגוןdā·ḡō·wn. . . וּשְׁתֵּ֣י׀וּשְׁתֵּי׀ושתיū·šə·tê- כַּפּ֣וֹתכַּפּוֹתכפותkap·pō·wṯ[and] יָדָ֗יויָדָיוידיוyā·ḏāwhis hands כְּרֻתוֹת֙כְּרֻתוֹתכרתותkə·ru·ṯō·wṯbroken off אֶל־אֶל־אל’el-and lying on הַמִּפְתָּ֔ןהַמִּפְתָּןהמפתןham·mip̄·tānthe threshold . רַ֥קרַקרקraqOnly דָּג֖וֹןדָּגוֹןדגוןdā·ḡō·wn[the torso] נִשְׁאַ֥רנִשְׁאַרנשארniš·’arremained עָלָֽיו׃עָלָֽיו׃עליו‘ā·lāw. . . .
